Madhubala couldn't give..., Dilip Kumar ended the relationship, Mumtaz's shocking revelation

India.com30-04-2025

We all know about the love story of Dilip Kumar and Madhubala, both loved each other very much but this relationship could not reach the stage of marriage. While Madhubala married Kishore Kumar, Dilip Kumar married Saira Bano. Many things have been said about why the relationship between Madhubala and Dilip Kumar broke up, but veteran actress Mumtaz has now revealed a reason which people did not know earlier.
Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were a superhit onscreen pair. The two worked together in 'Mughal-e-Azam', and were considered one of the most iconic couples of Hindi cinema. Her sister once said in an interview that they would have married if there was no court case against B.R. Chopra; the case created a rift in their relationship. However, Mumtaz said in a new interview that they separated because Madhubala could not bear children.
Speaking to journalist Vicky Lalwani, Mumtaz recalled, 'Madhubala did not break up with Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar separated from her because she could not have children. He then married Saira Banu, who is a very nice person. She took great care of Dilip sahab while he was alive. She was his fan initially. There was a big age difference between the two, but these things do not matter when you are in love.'
She further said, 'No one doubts that she loved Dilip Kumar madly. But Dilip sahab wanted a child. Perhaps he married Saira because of the desire to have a child. Madhubala herself told me this. I used to go to meet her, and she was not well at all.'
Mumtaz further said, 'She used to say, 'If I loved anyone in my life, it was Yusuf. But when she came to know that I cannot have children…' she used to call him Yusuf. The doctor had said that conceiving a child could cost her her life, as she had a heart problem.'
Mumtaz also said that she does not blame Dilip Kumar for this, because every man wants a child. Mumtaz further said, 'Even though he loved Madhubala, he must have thought, 'Let me try with another woman.' Sadly, he did not have a child even with Saira.' Madhubala wanted to meet Dilip Kumar after his marriage
Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were in a relationship for a decade. They also worked together in films like 'Tarana', 'Amar' and 'Sangdil'. Dilip Kumar told in his autobiography that Madhubala wanted to meet him after his marriage to Saira Bano. Remembering Madhubala in his autobiography, Dilip Kumar wrote, 'After our marriage, when we were living in Madras, I got a message from Madhubala that she wanted to meet me immediately. I immediately went to tell Saira and she said that I should meet Madhubala, as she might be a little upset.' Madhubala later married Kishore Kumar, but that relationship also had a tragic end. Madhubala died in 1969 at the age of 36. Dilip Kumar died in 2021 at the age of 98.

Will Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 be able to outpace Kamal Haasan's Thug Life at the Box Office?

Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 and Kamal Haasan's Thug Life are set for a box office showdown, with advance bookings indicating a close race. Thug Life has already garnered significant pre-release revenue and positive early reviews, while Housefull 5 aims to leverage its wide release and franchise appeal to compete. The opening day collections will determine the ultimate winner. The big box office clash this week is between Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 and Kamal Haasan 's much-awaited Thug Life. While both films cater to entirely different audiences — one a Hindi comedy franchise directed by Tarun Mansukhani and the other a Tamil action drama directed by Mani Ratnam — the numbers pouring in from advance bookings are making this face-off an intriguing one as both the films are releasing just one day apart. As per the latest advance booking data, Housefull 5 has sold 1,16,746 tickets across India, grossing Rs 3.63 crore in advance sales as per Sacnilk, with block seats taking the number up to Rs 8.47 crore. The film, which is set for a wide release across 14,000+ shows, is showing promising trends in metro cities and single screens alike. On the other hand, Thug Life, which released today, has recorded a solid Rs 6.16 crore in advance bookings, selling 3,58,742 tickets across 11,357 shows. Including block seats, the film has touched Rs 13.89 crore, making it one of the strongest pre-release responses for a Tamil film this year. What's more, the early reports from audiences have been extremely positive, with social media already buzzing about Kamal Haasan's performance and Mani Ratnam's gripping morning 10 AM- the film has already eaned around Rs 2 crore from morning shows which began at 9 AM. Trade expects Thug Life to easily breach the Rs 20 crore mark on its opening day, fueled by strong word-of-mouth, especially in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states. The film's Hindi version has made a modest start but is expected to pick up over the weekend due to positive reviews and crossover Life is at a loss in one state - Karnataka. Following the language row and court hearing Kamal Haasan- the actor and producer of the film decided to not release the film in the state. The question now is whether Housefull 5, which releases tomorrow, can surpass Thug Life's first-day numbers. Historically, the Housefull franchise has delivered big openings, and with an ensemble cast and comic entertainment value, it has a shot at challenging Thug Life's day-one total — provided it converts its advance bookings into solid spot bookings and walk-ins. As things stand, Housefull 5 will need to cross the Rs 20 crore opening day figure to stay ahead in this box office clash. All eyes are on tomorrow's collections to see which film emerges the true winner. Housefull 5 features names like Abhishek Bachchan, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan , Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff , Nana Patekar, Sonam Bajwa, Chitrangada SIngh , Nargis Fakhri while Thug Life has names like STR, Trisha, Ali Fazal and Rohit Saraf. Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin SPLIT after 8 year romance: Reports

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have reportedly pulled the plug on their romance after nearly 8 years together. The couple who has been in an off-and-on relationship for nearly a decade, have now ended things again, and this time, insiders say it's for good. According to multiple sources cited by PEOPLE, the Materialists actress, and the Coldplay frontman, have broken up again. Representatives for both stars have not yet confirmed or denied the news. The couple, who were first linked in 2017, were last seen publicly on May 16 during a casual outing in Malibu. Earlier this year, they were photographed holding hands and walking about the busy streets of Mumbai, while in India for Coldplay's Music of the Spheres tour. Although at the time, they were plagued with break-up rumours, the two were spotted by fans looking loved up as they headed out on quiet romantic walks late evening, exploring the bylanes of the city. Rumours of an engagement had also been rife back in 2020, with a source confirming to PEOPLE in March 2024 that they had been engaged for 'years,' though they were in 'no rush' to marry. When breakup speculation surfaced in August 2024, Johnson's rep had denied the claims, insisting the couple were 'happily together.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Volta Redonda (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo At the time, sources suggested they were navigating the challenges of balancing two busy careers, but still deeply committed. 'They've had issues and taken breaks in the past,' a source shared last year, 'but things were great. They were trying to make it work.' Another source had described the relationship as full of 'ups and downs,' yet stable — until now. News of the break up comes amidst the release of Daota's romantic film Materialists, co-starring Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal . The film, set to hit theatres on June 13 has been directed by Celine Song. Martin was previously married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The two co-parent their two kids Apple and Moses.
