Bigg Boss 18's Vivian Dsena Is More Of A TV Person, Says ‘Films Are Not My Type'

Last Updated: While many TV stars chase film roles, Vivian Dsena shared he was not interested in the medium. In an industry where many television stars dream of making the leap to the big screen, Vivian Dsena continues to stand apart. While conversations around the challenges faced by TV actors trying to break into films are common, Vivian isn't interested in fighting that battle — not because he doubts his potential, but simply because the medium doesn't appeal to him.. In a chat with Mid-Day, the actor opened up about his perspective on films, his love for television, and a fresh chapter that has fans buzzing. 'By God's grace, I have done four shows, and all of them have been hits," he told Mid-Day. 'I would like to continue doing that, whether on television or the web, but films are not really my type." But while he's ruling out movies, the actor is definitely not stepping away from the limelight. In fact, he dropped some exciting news that's bound to thrill his loyal fanbase. 'I've come back, really come back to work. There are a lot of discussions and new projects in the pipeline, so hopefully, you'll see me in a series very soon," he shared. As per reports, Vivian is all set to explore the world of digital entertainment. With web platforms opening up new storytelling possibilities, the actor confirmed he's currently in talks for several OTT ventures and will be returning to screens in a series shortly. It's a move that aligns perfectly with his comfort in performance-driven formats while allowing him to experiment with fresh narratives. Adding to the celebration was another significant moment—Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, one of Vivian's most beloved shows, completed 13 years on May 28. Reflecting on that unforgettable journey and the massive fan support the show received, Vivian got nostalgic. 'During Madhubala, fans would come all the way to Film City just to meet me," he recalled. 'There were women who would say, 'Sir, my husband may not watch anything else, but he never misses your show.' These people came only for RK (Vivian's character), and I truly feel I was at the right place at the right time and I put in just the right amount of hard work to make it count." Vivian Dsena made waves in the Gladrags Mr. India contest in 2007, which became a launchpad for his career on television. Over the years, he has built an enviable career. With memorable roles in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and more, he's carved a niche few can rival. First Published:

‘Madhubala was dying, I don't blame Dilip Kumar for leaving her': Legendary star warned Mumtaz never to fall in love, called it the worst

The veteran actor Mumtaz recalled the tragic piece of advice that she received from the legendary star Madhubala. In an interview, she said that Madhubala was on her deathbed when she advised her never to lose herself to love. Madhubala passed away at a young age, and was never able to fulfil her fairytale romance with Dilip Kumar. Knowing that she was dying of an illness, Dilip Kumar made the decision to leave her. Mumtaz said that she doesn't blame him at all for it. She grew up in close proximity of Madhubala, having been taken in by her father. In an interview with Filmibeat, she said, 'The poor woman wasn't well, and I don't blame Yusuf saab. She was dying, there was nothing that he could've done. She was very, very ill, and there were no real cures for the heart condition that she had.' Asked if Madhubala ever gave her advice that she still remembers to this day, Mumtaz said, 'I was very young, but I remember her telling me, 'Zindagi mein sabse buri cheez jo hoti hai, mohabbat hoti hai. Kissi se pyaar mat karna. Karo, magar itna naa karo ke bechain ho jao (Love is the worst thing in the world. Never fall in love. If you do, don't lose sleep over it).' Also read – Dilip Kumar slapped Madhubala on the set of Mughal-e-Azam with 'full force' after break-up, director said it 'proves he still loves you' In an earlier interview with Vickey Lalwani, Mumtaz said that Dilip Kumar left Madhubala because she was too unwell to bear children. 'She didn't break up with him. He broke up with her because she couldn't have children. Instead, he married Saira Banu, who is a very nice person. She took such great care of him till his dying breath. She was his fan originally. They had a huge age difference, but these things don't matter when you're in love,' she said. He eventually married Saira Banu, and some time after their marriage, he received a call from Madhubala, asking him to meet her. In his autobiography, Dilip Kumar praised Saira for allowing him to meet Madhubala. 'When I went to Madhu's home, I was pained to see that she was frail and looked very weak. The pallor on her face not only belied her ill health, but her magnificent, impish smile seemed such an effort. She was happy to see me and said: 'Hamarey shehzade ko unki shehzadi mil gayi hai, main bahut khush hoon!' (Our prince has got his princess, I am very happy),' he wrote.

The photo frame jewellery trend lets you wear your favourite memory

One wardrobe staple which has the power to enhance any outfit is accessories, and one that recently went viral is actor Nitanshi Goel's hair parandi veil at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The parandi featured small photo frames of female Bollywood actors hanging from the pearls. She wanted to honour the women who shaped Indian cinema, and it was her way of paying tribute to them. The photo frames included photos of actors Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Nutan, Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Vyjayanthimala, Hema Malini, Rekha and Sridevi. Another person who took up this trend, but in a more controversial way, was model Ruchi Gujjar, making her Cannes debut as she wore pendants of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face. Now, attaching frames to any accessory goes beyond just a trend, and it's now new. Remember the photo lockets in different shapes and sizes that people used to hang around their necks? This is just that, but with a modern and stylish approach. This trend talks about personalisation on another level. Anything and everything you wear has a story to tell, and it should be personal to you. Hair parandi veils are not the only accessory, however, that you can add to your look to make it extra special. There are rings, earrings and even kaleeras that people are looking at for that custom approach. 'Customisation has been a core offering since the very beginning because we believe that jewellery is a form of self-expression and not just a piece to wear,' says Madhulika Anchalia, co-founder of jewellery brand, BeAbhika, who created Nitanshi's hair parandi, adding, 'These mini photo frames were an extension in that direction. While adding photos to products isn't new, we aimed to preserve the charm and nostalgia of vintage decorative photo frames with glass fronts—timeless keepsakes that continue to hold sentimental value even today.' They offer a variety of products with photo frames embedded in them, including kaleere for weddings, rakhis and lumbas, and hair veils/parandis. 'In future, we plan to design necklaces and bracelets with them and also experiment with some new categories,' she adds. The price range of these products can be anywhere between ₹500 and ₹20,000, depending on the materials used, design intricacy and level of customisation. A post shared by Neha Balodia Designs (@nehabalodiadesigns) Neha Balodia of Neha Balodia Designs, a resin art brand, works on creating phone charms with photographs sealed inside resin. 'I believe memories should be lived more than once. The idea of preserving something as fleeting as a flower or a photograph in clear, glossy resin felt magical," she reflects. The price of their products starts from ₹200 and varies according to complexity, size, and customisation of the product. 'Each piece is handmade and unique, so pricing reflects the time, effort, and materials that go into making it,' she adds.

Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar recalls sleeping between his father and stepmother, shares he used to kick his ' mummy' Madhubala in sleep

Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar recalls sleeping between his father and stepmother, shares he used to kick his ' mummy' Madhubala in sleep In the glamorous world of Bollywood, where everything seems picture-perfect from the outside, there is a lot that happens behind the curtains than what meets the eye. While tales of fame and stardom are usually what we see on the forefront, personal struggles, complicated interpersonal relationships are rarely spoken about. One such tale belongs to a legendary singer who had achieved massive success in terms of his profession, but his personal life was full of complications, four marriages, shifting family dynamics, and complex relationships. The person we are talking about is none other than Kishore Kumar. Widely known as the biggest playback singer, the legendary star was an actor, producer, and screenwriter. Although he made his debut as an actor but it was his iconic singing that rose him to fame. He has given his voice to many A-list iconic stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Deva Anand, and more. Some of his cult classic that resonates with the audience even today are 'Zindagi ek safar', 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass', 'Mere Sapno Ki Rani', and many more. However, while his professional life was full of success, his personal life was rather complicated. He had four marriages. Ruma Guha Thakurta, legendary actress Madhubala, Yogeeta Bali, and then finally Leena Chandvarkar. Kishore Kumar has been in the news many times for his complicated love life, especially with Madhubala, as that was a blend of love and tragedy. However, recently, his son, Amit Kumar, opened up about the lesser-known part of his life. He shared about his childhood and how, even after the complex dynamics of his father and mother, Ruma Guha Thakurta, he never felt any sort of resentment towards his father for remarrying. Expressing his gratitude, he shared, 'I got love from both parents. I loved both, and they saw to it, He made another surprising revelation about how his mother, Ruma (Kishore Kumar's first wife) and Leena (Kishore Kumar's fourth wife) lived together under the same roof for over a decade. Instead of having any friction, they both shared a harmonious bond over meal, laughter and memories. 'They were all so broad-minded,' Amit said, speaking about the acceptance in the family 'I really love my parents, I miss them. They taught me these things.' Amit also spoke about having an unbiased and affectionate relationship with his father's second wife, Madhubala. 'I used to call her 'mummy' only,' he recalled. He shared a memory about how as a kid he had a habit of kicking in his sleep, prompting Madhubala to sleep between him and Kishore. She once jokingly told Kishore, 'Aapka ladka bahut laat maarta hai (Your son kicks a lot).' This dynamic of family despite the complexes seems quite rare but shows how the entire family inherited acceptance and were quite broad minded.
