Ponies clinch 11th straight win on Baseball and Education Day
The Ponies beat the Somerset Patriots 4 to 3 on Wednesday as they keep their now 11-game win streak alive.
This winning streak is the third longest of all time for the team and the longest since 2006.
In addition to the team's historic run, they were cheered on by over 5,100 young, adoring fans.
The team held its Education and Baseball event, which gives elementary students the opportunity to come to the games as a field trip with their schools.
The Rumble Ponies General Manager Richard Tylicki underscores the importance of having such a young crowd in attendance.
'It's critical because you're trying to grow the game. Youth sports participation is down nationwide, particularly in baseball, so by having the young people here, hopefully, you get them interested in baseball and they become either fans or players. The second part of it is a lot of these kids probably don't get a chance to come to a game, so coming as a field trip, not only enables them to come at a pretty inexpensive price but then doing it as a group is always much more fun when you do things with your friends,' said Tylicki.
The Ponies have four more home games coming up this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Friday featuring fireworks.

Mets prospect Carson Benge blasts go-ahead, two-run home run for Double-A Binghamton
Mets prospect Carson Benge continued his hot stretch for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, showing off his power swing. The left fielder blasted a go-ahead, two run home run in the sixth inning off of Harrisburg's Hyun-il Choi to put the Rumble Ponies up 2-0. He finished the game 1-for-4 as Binghamton would hold on for the win despite getting outhit, 8-4. Right-hander Jack Wenninger tossed tossed six scoreless innings to earn his ninth victory of the year. Benge has now hit five home runs in his last six games and is already up to eight homers at the Double-A level after getting promoted at the end of June. Over 26 games with Binghamton, Benge is slashing .370/.462/.670 with an impressive 1.132 OPS. The 22-year-old also has four doubles, a triple, and 20 RBI. He hit .302 with 37 RBI over 60 games in High-A and had only four homers, but that was likely due to Brooklyn's tough hitting stadium. Across 86 games combined at both levels, Benge is hitting .323 with a .968 OPS, 12 home runs, 57 RBI, and 19 stolen bases this season. While Benge was the only player to drive in runs on Sunday, fellow top prospect Jett Williams went 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in the win. He's hitting .278 over 91 games in Double-A with 10 home runs, 28 doubles, five triples, and 36 RBI. He's also got 58 walks and 29 stolen bases on the season.

The prospects Mets gave up to acquire Cedric Mullins at MLB trade deadline
After filling out their bullpen through three trade deadline moves over the last week, the Mets addressed their need in center field by acquiring Cedric Mullins from the Orioles. The Amazin's sent a trio of right-handed pitchers — Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez and Chandler Marsh — to Baltimore to bring Mullins to Queens. Advertisement Nunez is the highest-ranked prospect of the three as the Mets' No. 14 player in the farm system before the trade, per MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old was originally drafted in 2019 by the Padres in the 29th round as an infielder and played in San Diego's pipeline for two years before being released. Nunez then played college ball at Division II University of Tampa, transitioned into a two-way player and was signed by the Mets last summer strictly as a pitcher. He's since made his way to New York's Double-A affiliate and has pitched to a 2.10 ERA in 22 appearances at the level after dominating with High-A Brooklyn with a 0.63 ERA in 10 appearances. Gomez, the Mets' No. 30 prospect before the deal, recorded a 4.63 ERA across 27 appearances in Low-A and High-A this season. Mets prospect Jett Williams leaves game after being hit in helmet by pitch
There was a scary moment involving Mets prospect Jett Williams in Friday night's game with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. In the first inning of the Binghamton-Somerset game, Patriots right-hander Carlos Lagrange threw a 1-2 fastball up and in to Williams. However, the pitch, which SNY prospects writer Joe DeMayo clocked at 98 mph, ran in and hit Williams near the ear flap of his batting helmet. Williams collapsed to the ground before he sat up as the trainer checked him out. After a minute or two, Williams got back up and walked off under his own power and was taken out of the game. Advertisement There was no immediate update on Williams' condition and his status moving forward is undetermined. Williams, DeMayo's No. 2 Mets prospect, was having a solid first full season in Double-A. In 47 games, Williams is slashing .277/.381/.446 with four home runs, 12 doubles, 17 stolen bases and an OPS of .827. Entering Friday's game, Williams had a two-game hitting streak going and reached base at least once in the last 10 games.
