John McGinn had a shot well-saved after Miller's pass inside the full-back and Doohan almost got his first taste of meaningful action when home wing-back Kenny Kindle was allowed to run a long way with the ball and get a shot away. Doig got down the left wing to good effect and forced a save before Hibernian striker Bowie and Rangers midfielder Barron entered the fray. Scotland continued to play in the opposition half and Adams headed home substitute Tommy Conway's near-post cross immediately before the full-time whistle.

The towering centre-back started his career at Celtic as a youngster before heading down south to join Newcastle in 2016 - after loan spells at Morton, Dumbarton and Killie. He played a key role in McInnes' side for two campaigns at Rugby Park, albeit on the sidelines for a large part of last season. His absence proved to be a real issue for McInnes as his Killie backline struggled without him. He still made 23 appearances in all competitions for the club despite missing five months of action with an ankle injury. The left-footed defender is currently at Oxford City and has one year left on his deal down south. It's believed the English side are demanding a six-figure transfer fee to allow him to depart 12 months early. A loan deal is another possibility should they fail to agree a fee. But talks have been progressing well, with McInnes eager to get his business done early. Hearts players are due back on June 20 for pre-season and the former Killie and Aberdeen boss still hopes to add to his squad before then.
