Marcos wants to raise awareness on use of eGov PH app
Marcos made the remark Friday during the launch of EGOV PH Hub in San Juan City.
"Iyon lamang kailangan lang natin ipakalat sa taong-bayan na mayroon nang ganito at subukan nila at gamitin nila," Marcos said in his speech.
(We have to let our countrymen know that we have this app and that they should try to use it.)
The President said government offices and agencies should explain to the public how the application can be utilized.
(Our suggestion is that all agencies that have websites should know about this service. If a client arrives in an office, their staff should explain or give a flyer that explains the app.)
He said the public no longer needs to go to the hub as they may access government services through the application.
(The truth is you don't need to come here. As long as you have connectivity, a WiFi connection, this is all you need to do.)
The eGov PH Super App, which has more than 13 million users and offers 47 integrated service modules with over 150 million transactions.
The Department of Health announced last week that the prices of medicines may be checked through the eGovPH app.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has also announced that through the eGov PH app, users can download the online system and renew their driver's licenses without going to the agency's offices. — VDV, GMA Integrated News

Palace on increase in Marcos rating: Public sees his work
Malacañang on Friday welcomed the boost in the trust and performance ratings of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. for the 2nd Quarter of 2025. Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the public is seeing that the President is working for the country. However, she clarified that Marcos is not after the figures or ratings. Based on the Tugon ng Masa survey conducted from July 12 to 17, OCTA Research said Marcos received a 64% trust rating, a four-percentage-point increase from his previous one. His performance rating also got a three-point increase, climbing up to 62% within the survey's margin of error. OCTA also said Marcos reversed the downward trend in ratings that he experienced since the 4th Quarter of 2024 and received the highest trust and performance ratings among the top officials surveyed for this quarter. —LDF, GMA Integrated News

Banning online gambling must be studied thoroughly, says Palace
Malacañang on Friday said banning online gambling should be studied thoroughly, including its possible impacts to the country. During a press conference, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said this matter should be studied carefully as this may affect even the licensed ones. She was reacting to the question about President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. skipping online gambling during his fourth State of the Nation Address. (This should be studied carefully because if we remove this, those licensed ones will be affected and we have to determine if this will affect the assistance to the nation, to students, and to all Filipinos. So, the President cannot just decide on this. This should be studied as the revenues from licensed online gambling operations are helping the citizens.) (This should be studied and it's not right to just prohibit this, this should be studied.) The Senate is set to hold an investigation regarding online gambling in the country, as announced by Senator Erwin Tulfo, chairman of the Senate games and amusement committee. Several other lawmakers have also called either for the total ban or strict regulation of online gambling, citing its negative impact on Filipinos who got addicted to it. PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tengco earlier noted that the gaming industry regulator recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ad Standards Council (ASC) to strengthen the monitoring of gambling-related advertisements across all platforms. It also recently ordered the takedown of all gambling ads in public spaces and primetime TV by August 15 this year. — BAP, GMA Integrated News

Palace asks public to keep eye on bicam over 2026 budget
Malacañang on Friday called on the public to be vigilant about the bicameral conference committee with regard to the 2026 national budget. At a press conference, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said the committee still has yet provide specific details with regard to flood control projects, some of which may be anomalous. Castro said these projects are still under investigation. (We can't say in detail what these projects are. It's better if we report with verified data. It's hard to mention a place, and then the President will see it and think that there has been an anomaly with the project. We will complete our investigation to report verified facts.) (Through the help of the public, let's monitor the bicam conference for the 2026 budget. The President doesn't want this to happen again.) In his fourth State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed dismay with government personnel who steal public funds, including those earmarked for flood control projects. Marcos said these officials would be dealt with under the law, noting that they should be ashamed of their actions. The President said a regional monitoring committee that will examine the projects to check on their progress, and if they exist at all. "We will publish this list so that the public can see it," Marcos said. "At the same time, there will be an audit and performance review of these projects to check and make sure and to know how your money was spent." The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) earlier admitted that it has no monitoring system in place for some flood control projects, specifically those inserted by lawmakers into the national budget without undergoing technical vetting. DPWH Secretary Manuel "Manny" Bonoan said the agency is seeing some of the projects for the first time only after these appeared in the final version of the General Appropriations Act. Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has said the presence of watchdogs and other civil society observers will be allowed at the proposed national budget deliberations, from the committee and plenary level to the bicameral conference committee. Romualdez also vowed to strengthen the House of Representative's authority to investigate by conducting midyear performance reviews of agencies, and review of infrastructure projects. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
