Blackwood Primary School celebrates sporting achievements
The school participated in every event available in the area, with students competing in a wide range of sports including cross country, rugby, basketball, netball, football, bowls, and duathlon.
A spokesman for Blackwood Primary School said: "A huge thank you to all our participants for their dedication and sportsmanship this year.
"Here's to another stellar year ahead."
(Image: Supplied) The year 5 and 6 boys' football team finished second in the Blackwood Cluster League and reached the Caerphilly finals.
The girls' football team also enjoyed a strong season, competing in the cluster league, two 'Game On' festivals, and several matches against nearby schools.
(Image: Supplied) Tennis teams from the school qualified for the Caerphilly finals, with the year 3 and 4 girls winning the title and the boys finishing as runners-up.

After winning the Caerphilly cluster event, the team went on to become champions of the South East Wales cricket finals.

Each pupil who represented the school received an award in recognition of their effort and achievement.
Year 6 pupils also voted for their 'player of the year' in basketball, bowls, cricket, football, netball, rugby, and tennis.

Overall boys' and girls' athlete of the year awards were also presented.
The school's ethos, 'United we empower, nurture, challenge,' was at the heart of their sporting success, reflecting their commitment to teamwork, personal growth, and resilience both on and off the field.

Speaking to OLBG, he insisted that the Rangers boss was 'probably the most authentic and direct' manager he's assessed and says his words came from the heart and were genuine. He said: 'He wants to lay the law down and those that don't want to play ball in his own words can walk and sometimes you've just got to pull a scary face in life. 'It's nice to be nice but you've also got to stand up for yourself and defend your values and say what you think is wrong. 'If the fans get behind him and support his strategy to go in there and start kicking some arse then I do think heads will roll but it's all about leverage. 'No one person is bigger than the team, or at least that's the idea isn't it, so he has to control the framing and the narrative because at the end of the day he's the manager or the coach, especially if there's one or two players who run against that. 'I think out of all the managers I've been asked to assess, I think Martin is the most forthright and probably most authentic and direct I've seen in some time. He looks like the sort of man that's not going to suffer fools gladly at Rangers.' He continued: 'There's a lot of anger. His eyes are pulled together and pulled down. 'Martin was looking down and left for most of the interview, if you notice, which is what we call auditory internal dialogue. This happens in a split second. 'He's thinking very carefully about what he's saying but it does tell me that he's been genuinely authentic. 'He's speaking from the heart. If he was trying to manage the risk of what he's saying to the media we would see some bilateral shoulder shrugs, which is where one only shoulder moves. 'He seems genuine because he did lots of double shoulder shrugs. He's not trying to mask anything.' 'We almost sleep-walked into conceding that equaliser and probably deserved it in the end. 'Do the players have a lot to prove? 100 percent. Look, obviously it hasn't been the most successful period for the club and that's down to us as players. Celtic transfer news as Balikwisha timeline emerges and Ambrosino gets appraisal
Brendan Rodgers has made it no secret that he wants to bolster his forward options before the window slams shut on September 1 Celtic will reportedly ramp up their attempts to sign long-term target Michel Ange Balikwisha if they are successful in qualifying for the Champions League. For a centre forward, he's also very technical: he communicates well with his teammates, he's good at laying off and moving the team forward. He's good in the air, especially when it comes to finishing. "He's not exceptional at flicking on or in aerial duels to provide a point of support, but when it comes to finishing with his head, he's effective. In the Primavera, he was also very good at running forward."
