Saudi forces join ‘Desert Flag' air drill in UAE
The Royal Saudi Air Force and Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces are among units taking part in the exercise, which will continue for several weeks at Al-Dhafra Air Base.
Other countries participating are Qatar, Bahrain, Turkiye, the US, France, South Korea, the UK, Australia, India, and Germany.
Commander of the air force contingent, Lt. Col. Pilot Faisal Al-Marwani, said preparations were carried out in line with approved safety standards for military exercises.
Al-Marwani added that the Saudi Air Force deployed six F-15C fighters with full crews to exchange military expertise in realistic combat scenarios, enhance readiness, and strengthen international partnerships.
He said that the exercise includes various air maneuvers, such as defensive and offensive counter-air operations, close air support, and combat search and rescue.
The objectives include exchanging expertise in planning and execution, improving combat readiness, and strengthening ties with participating forces.

Charitable group Ensan's schoolbag project targets 16k children
RIYADH: The Charitable Society for Orphan Care, Ensan, will provide bags this year for 16,007 students at 22 schools in the Riyadh governorate. Ensan has allocated over SR3.2 million ($853,000) for the project, with each bag costing SR200, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday. The money for the bags and stationary needs will be deposited into the bank accounts of parents and guardians. Ensan has other projects to help children including providing tutors, and transport to and from school. The organization also assists in getting young people scholarships, and admission to universities, colleges and specialized institutes. GASTAT: Nearly 70% of Saudis under age of 35
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudis under the age of 35 comprised 69.4 percent of the total Saudi population. This data was revealed by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on the occasion of the International Youth Day, which falls on August 12. The GASTAT data from 2024 showed that the age group between 15 and 34 accounted for 35.9 percent of the population, with a nearly equal gender distribution of 50.3 percent male and 49.7 percent female. Regarding Saudis and non-Saudis, individuals under 35 made up 61.4 percent of the total population. In the report, the GASTAT emphasized the vital role of youth in shaping Saudi Arabia's development and future.
