Phillies slugger Bryce Harper is reinstated after injured list stint with sore wrist
Harper went on the 10-day injured list on June 6.
The two-time National League MVP and eight-time All-Star is hitting .258 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs and eight stolen bases in 57 games. He also missed five games, from May 26 to June 2, with a bruised right elbow after being hit by a pitch from Atlanta's Spencer Strider.
Harper said when he went on the IL that he felt pain in the wrist during a large portion of last season, when he hit 30 homers while helping the Phillies win the NL East.
The Phillies entered Monday's game in first place in the division. They are 13-14 overall this season without Harper in the lineup.
To make room on the 26-man roster, infielder Buddy Kennedy was designated for assignment.

Panthers found a way to keep the core together, and Zito says it was player-driven
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Bill Zito looked exhausted Tuesday. The Florida Panthers' hockey operations president and general manager was trying to schedule a fishing trip. He was trying to figure out how the next few weeks will work. He needed a nap, desperately. The good news: He can finally get a bit of a break. The Panthers are running — skating? — it back next season, with all 12 of the forwards that they used in the clinching game of the Stanley Cup Final under contract for 2025-26 and in many cases long beyond. The final moves came Tuesday, when the signings of Brad Marchand and Tomas Nosek became officially official as Florida prepares to try and win a third consecutive title next season. And with that, Zito and the Panthers pulled off a stunning haul: They went into free agency trying to figure out who among the trio of Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad and Marchand could fit under the salary cap for next season — and kept them all. It begged the obvious question Tuesday: How did he do this? 'I didn't. It was those guys,' Zito said. 'There's no gray area whatsoever. This is 100% those guys wanting to be part of something that they created. We kind of wax poetic about the team and the community that they've become. And I think this is a great example of what it means to them. It's 100% those men who made that decision that they all wanted to continue to try to win together.' Bennett took an eight-year deal worth $64 million, Ekblad took an eight-year deal worth $48.6 million and Marchand took a six-year deal worth about $32 million. And much in the same way that Zito — who has 10 players, most of the team's biggest names, under contract through at least 2030 — didn't want credit, Ekblad deferred the credit for all of this happening as well. 'It speaks a lot about the organization and everything that they do for us and how bad guys want to play here,' Ekblad said. 'Our practice rink, our game rink, the hotels that we stay in on the road, the food that we eat … the organization does everything for us. It's easy to want to stay here. And then the culture of winning is just a huge draw to guys, right? It's the most important thing. It's why we play the game. And we've all been taken care of extremely well.' Bennett, Ekblad and Marchand all could have commanded more on the open market; the NHL's free agency period opened at noon Eastern on Tuesday, or about an hour after Zito met with reporters inside the Panthers' theater at their new practice facility. They chose to stay for less and try to win more. It's a simple formula. 'It was always Florida,' said Ekblad, who is now in position to potentially spend the entirety of what could be a nearly two-decade career with the Panthers. 'I don't think you guys understand. The Panthers still had a couple pursuits in free agency to tend to, but the core is built and in place for years to come. And that means, when he finally gets to sleep, Zito will sleep well. New York Liberty return home struggling after disappointing road trip
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Liberty return home after a disappointing road trip that saw them drop three of their four games. Help is on the way, though, as Leonie Fiebich will return from playing in the EuroBasket tournament for Germany. That will give New York back one of its two missing starters. Jonquel Jones is still recovering from a sprained ankle and is out for a few more weeks. The team has really missed the two starters as its defense has struggled lately, giving up at least 89 points in three of the four road contests — including all three defeats. The schedule also gets kinder to the Liberty with an eight-game homestand for most of July. With the All-Star break thrown in, New York doesn't leave Barclays Center until a game at Dallas on July 28. The Liberty will welcome Caitlin Clark and the Fever twice over that span as well as rival Las Vegas. Hey now, you're an All-Star The WNBA All-Star starters were announced this week led by captains Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier. The pair will draft their teams next week after the reserves are revealed this weekend. Both are first-time captains. Clark, by virtue of receiving the most fan votes, will have the first pick in the draft. Other starters included Nneka Ogwumike, A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Aliyah Boston and Satou Sabally in the front court. Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray and rookie Paige Bueckers got the nod in the backcourt. Power poll rankings Minnesota still is the No. 1 team with Phoenix and Atlanta behind the Lynx. New York, Golden State and Las Vegas were next. Seattle dropped three spots to seventh. Indiana and Washington followed the Storm. Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles and Connecticut rounded out the poll. Expanded footprint The WNBA announced three new teams will be joining the league with Cleveland set to begin play in 2028, Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030. That will give the league 18 teams — the most it's ever had since it first started play in 1997. Player of the week Angel Reese of Chicago averaged 19.7 points, 17 rebounds and five assists to help the Sky win two of their three games last week. Other players receiving votes were Napheesa Collier of Minnesota, Kelsey Mitchell of Indiana and A'ja Wilson of Las Vegas. Game of the week Seattle at New York, Sunday.
