AMMAN — In a thrilling Jordanian Pro League CFI showdown at Amman International Stadium, Faisaliedged past Wihdat with a 1-0 victory in Round 16. The first half was closely contested, with both teams exchanging attacks but struggling to break through. However, in the 36th minute, Hadi Hourani capitalisedon a well-executed set-piece, securing what would be the game's only goal. Later on, Wihdat dominated possession in the second half, desperately pushing for an equaliser, but Faisali'scompact defence held firm. The Blue Eagles effectively closed down spaces and disrupted Wihdat'sattacking flow, frustrating their opponents.
Wihdat remain in second place with 32 points, but their title hopes have taken a hit as they now trail league leaders Hussein Irbid by a significant margin.

At Amman International Stadium Hussein Irbid booked their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory over 21-time Cup winners Faisali. The decisive moment came in the 75th minute when Sisa, a former Faisali forward, found the back of the net with a clinical finish, capitalising on a defensive lapse to stun his former club. The match was closely fought, with both sides struggling to create clear chances. Faisali pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Hussein Irbid held firm defensively to preserve their lead and secure a historic victory. In the other semifinal at King Abdullah II stadium, Wihdat edged Al Ahli 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw. The shootout was decided when M. Haddad of Al Ahli missed his attempt, sending the ball wide, before the goalkeeper Fakhouri stepped up to scorethe winning penalty and seal Wihdat's place in the final. The final is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, and will take place at Amman International Stadium, as confirmed by the Jordan Football Association. Hussein Irbid will be aiming for a landmark title, while Wehdat look to add yet another trophy to their record.

AMMAN — Thursday evening will see Faisali vs Hussein and Wihdat vs Ahli at 7:00 pm in the semifinals of the Jordan Cup —the last event on the 2024/25 season football calendar. Faisali and Wihdat aim to reach the final to have a shot at one of the season's titles after Hussein retained the Pro League crown and won Jordan Super Cup while Salt won their first ever title when they snatched the Jordan Football Association Shield. Playing at Amman International Stadium, Hussein will be eyeing their first Jordan Cup title. They are led by Faisali'sex-coach Ahmad Hayel who was dismissed in the final weeks to join Hussein with whom he won his first title as a Pro league club coach owing their win to a last minute draw of Ramtha vs Wihdat who were leading the league by one point ahead of the final day of the competition. On the other hand, Faisali's veteran player and coach Jamal Abu Abed will strive to snatch a title for his club with the aim of competing again regionally next season after Hussein and Wihdat exited the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Champions League (ACL) Two in the Round of 16 this year. In the other semifinal at King Abdullah Stadium, Wihdat'sTunisian coach Qais Yacoubi also hopes to snatch a win after the Pro League crown slipped away. The coach acknowledged that defensive errors had cost his team the win, and has urged his players to put that result behind their back and focus on the coming season. Ahli maintained their place in the Pro League and havewon the Jordan Cup once in 2015. JFA says estimated cost to introduce VAR technology is $1 million
Ammon News - MP Mohammad Hdeib, Head of the Parliamentary Youth, Sports, and Culture Committee, affirmed that Jordanian football receives direct patronage and support from His Majesty King Abdullah II. This came during a meeting held by the committee on Sunday, attended by Marwan Jumaa, Deputy to His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, and Samar Nassar, Secretary-General of the Jordan Football Association (JFA). Also, Hadib pointed to the qualitative shift Jordanian football is witnessing regionally and on the continent, looking forward to achieving a historic achievement by qualifying the Al-Nashama team for the 2026 World Cup. Hadib, along with MPs Rand Al-Khazouz and Mu'ayyad Alawneh, stressed the the Lower House's commitment to providing all possible forms of support to the Jordan Football Association. Deputy to Prince Ali, Marwan Jumaa, pointed out that the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology is a top priority for the JFA, explaining that the estimated cost of the project is approximately $1 million. For her part, Nassar explained that the royal vision outlined a clear roadmap for supporting the national team, through the Royal Designation Letter issued by His Majesty King Abdullah II to the government of Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, which included a comprehensive plan to support the sports sector.
