John Stamos Remembers Brian Wilson: ‘His Voice Is Part of the Divine Chorus'
Stamos said that he 'grew up worshipping the Beach Boys' and never imagined that one day he'd 'get to play with them, let alone call Brian a friend.' The musician-actor, who performed with the band on the set of Full House and appeared in their music videos, said that the 1966 album Pet Sounds and its singles 'God Only Knows' and 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' not only played 'in the background of our lives, they shaped who we were.'
'They shaped who I became,' continued Stamos. 'His music made me feel things I didn't know how to say. It made me want to make people feel the way his music made me feel. So much of my life and career, so much of me, exists because of what Brian created.' Stamos was among the numerous celebrities who shared tributes remembering Wilson, including Mick Fleetwood, Elton John, Nancy Sinatra, and surviving Beach Boys co-founders Mike Love and Al Jardine.
Toward the end of his post, Stamos recalled Wilson once saying, 'Music is God's voice.' Stamos wrote, 'I believe he was right, and now that voice, his voice, is part of the divine chorus. The music didn't end.Rest easy, Brian. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the moments. I'll carry them with me -forever.'

Actor John Stamos will join the Beach Boys at Riot Fest in Chicago. He will join the Beach Boys as the drummer on September 20 in Douglas Park. In a joint statement, organizers confirmed Stamos will "begrudgingly" join the festival "after over a decade of social media harassment from Riot Fest." Organizers said the agreement comes with some demands by the actor, including the follow: 1. Riot Mike, the founder of the festival, must get a John Stamos tattoo 2. A John Stamos look-alike contest must be hosted by Riot Fest 3. A local Chicago pizza restaurant must create a Greek style pizza named after and in honor of Stamos. Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Dead at 48
Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died on Aug. 7 at the age of 48. The cause was melanoma, a type of skin cancer, the Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis told Rolling Stone on Aug. 11. 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,' Blackstock's family said in a statement shortly after his death. 'He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.' The Blackstock family said they would not be commenting further about Blackstock's death. Coroner Hollis confirmed to Rolling Stone that Blackstock had a natural death after fighting melanoma. 'He passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana, on August 7 under hospice care surrounded by his family,' he said. The news of Blackstock's death comes just a day after Clarkson postponed several of her Las Vegas residency shows to be 'fully present' with her family and kids while Blackstock dealt with his illness, which had not been made public. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment,' she wrote on Instagram Wednesday. 'I need to be fully present for them.' Blackstock and Clarkson started dating in 2012. They married in 2013 and had two children: a daughter, River, born in 2014, and a son, Remington, born in 2016. Blackstock was also the former stepson of Reba McEntire, who was married to his father Narvel Blackstock at the time. When Clarkson and Brandon wed, McEntire said: 'To have my buddy as my daughter-in-law, I mean, who could ask for more?' Clarkson penned her song 'Piece by Piece' about her relationship with Blackstock. 'But piece by piece, he collected me up / Off the ground, where you abandoned things,' she sings on the 2015 title track. 'Piece by piece, he filled the holes that you burned in me.' Clarkson eventually filed for divorce in 2020, and it was finalized in 2022, after two years of court contention. Blackstock had served as Clarkson's manager after their marriage (he had previously managed Blake Shelton), an arrangement that caused legal turmoil following the end of their romantic relationship. Blackstock also had two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage. He became a grandfather in 2022 when his eldest child, Savannah, had a son named Lake. This story was updated on Aug. 11 at 2:40 p.m. ET to include Blackstock's exact cause of death. Maluma Criticizes Fan for Bringing Baby to Show Without Ear Protection
Maluma is not here for fans who don't take proper care of their kids. The Colombian musician paused his concert at Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes to scold a mother who brought her young child to the show without any ear protection. 'With all due respect… how old are they?' Maluma asked the mother, as seen in a video shared online. 'A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it's a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this fucking high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn't even know what it's doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It's heavy. It's your responsibility. You're waving them around like they're a toy. That baby doesn't want to be there, for real. I'm telling you with all love and respect, now that I'm a father [I] would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.' More from Rolling Stone Colombia's High Court Says Song By Karol G, J Balvin, More Sexualizes Minors J Balvin, Maluma, Natanael Cano, and Don Omar Lead Baja Beach Fest 2025 Maluma Returns to His 'Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy' Swagger on 'Cosas Pendientes' Maluma is currently out on his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour, which kicked off in Spain in March. The current leg of shows in Mexico launched in Mexico City on Aug. 6 and will wrap in Guadalajara on Aug. 16. The tour concludes with a show in El Salvador on Aug. 23. Earlier this year, Colombia's high court rebuked Maluma, Karol G, J Balvin, Feid, and others involved in the controversial song '+57,' ruling that it violated the rights of children because the lyrics 'sexualized' minors. Released last November, '+57' featured a plethora of major Colombian artists and quickly garnered fierce criticism for a lyric Maluma and Feid repeat in the first verse, which translates to: 'A hottie since she was 14/When she walks into the club, you can feel her energy.' Following the uproar over the original version of the song, the controversial line on '+57' was altered to 'a hottie since she was 18.'
