John Stamos defends divisive design of his love-it-or-hate-it former California home: ‘Giant box of tacky'
Uncle Jessie wants fans to 'Have mercy!' on his interior decorating — or what they think is his stylistic taste. Famed 'Full House' star John Stamos' former Calabasas, California estate hit the market last month for $13 million, The Post reported. Not everyone was a fan of its bold new look. The marble-clad mansion, which features Panda marble floors and gold-clad toilets, caused quite a stir online. The Instagram account IG Mansion shared photos of the home to a barrage of comments, House Beautiful reported. 9 Stamos sold the house in 2001 for $2.15 million. Andrew Orozco, Open House 9 The opulent remodel of the property cost the current owners upwards of $3 million, their broker told The Post. Andrew Orozco, Open House 'A giant box of tacky' and 'Tacky AF' were variations on a similar refrain. Some commenters even poked fun at Stamos: 'Damn, Uncle Jessie and the Rippers made a lot more money than we thought,' one commenter wrote. The Instagram carousel amassed nearly 900 opinionated comments, including one from Stamos himself. The 61-year-old actor chimed in on IG Mansion's post last week. 'In my defense, I sold that house many years ago and it has been 'redecorated,'' Stamos wrote. His comment has since gained 3,118 likes, and expressions of relief from his avid fans. 'Whew! Glad to hear that because it's REALLY gaudy,' one commenter replied. 9 The black and white kitchen. Andrew Orozco, Open House 9 The formal dining area. Andrew Orozco, Open House 9 The master suite. 'I was going to say, no way this is his house, there's no Disney stuff anywhere!' another wrote, referencing the star's self-proclaimed 'Disney adult' status. The opulent home, however, did receive some praise from luxury-loving commenters. 'Let me get my checkbook,' one wrote, 'I think I could be very happy there,' another added. Stamos built the house in the early '90s, at the height of his 'Full House' fame. The 8,147-square-foot property has changed hands more than once since then. Justin Aguilera, a one-time Republican congressional hopeful, and his wife, Candace, bought the home in 2020. 9 A professional glam room. Andrew Orozco, Open House The couple maintained Stamos' Mediterranean facade but reimagined the interiors with the inspiration of 'Great Gatsby at night,' the property's broker, Compass' Alessandro Corona, previously told The Post. 'The interior has been entirely transformed to this new white, black and gold, shiny, gaudy masterpiece,' Alessandro told The Post. The Aguileras' maximalist vision included rare Panda marble floors, fireplaces, walls and countertops, as well as plentiful gold accents — including toilets — and crystal chandeliers. The 6-acre property also includes a pool with mountain views, multiple travertine terraces and, the listing notes, room for a helicopter pad.

John Stamos slays drums on Papa Roach's ‘Last Resort,' a song he says he'd never heard before
John Stamos proved he's always up for a challenge in a new video for YouTube channel Drumeo, in which he was tasked with drumming along to a song he'd never heard before. Enter Papa Roach's 'Last Resort.' For all the Millennials currently gasping that the former 'Full House' star has never heard this banger from the year 2000 – the music video of which currently has over 280 million views on YouTube – we hear you. The 'For the First Time' challenge is simple: The participant first listens to a song they'd never heard before with the drum section removed. Then, they are tasked with playing the part on their own. 'Let me tell every drummer who ever gets the chance to do this, don't,' he jokingly told the camera, as host Brandon Toews looked on. 'It's intimidating but, f*** it.' Stamos heard the song a couple of times, eventually recording the entire song his own way and improvising as the fast-paced nu metal track of the aughts played. By the end, Stamos, clearly exhausted with his hair drenched from sweat, had impressed the room. Afterward, he asked if the song was by Ozzy Osbourne but Toews revealed to him that the song was by Papa Roach and the drummer is Dave Buckner. Ultimately, the two concluded that Stamos' version wound up being pretty close to Buckner's original rendition. 'That was pretty cool!' Stamos said. 'I think I barely lived through it… I survived.' Stamos, best known for his work on the small screen, is an experienced musician and passionate drummer, having performed with major acts including the Beach Boys, BB King and Bruce Springsteen.

John Stamos Drums Along to Papa Roach's 'Last Resort' While Hearing It For The First Time Ever — Watch!
Somehow John Stamos went decades without hearing "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. The Full House star participated in the YouTube channel Drumeo's "For The First Time" challenge with host Brandon Toews dropping by Stamos' house, where he had a full drum kit already. For the video series, Stamos, 61, performed the drums on Papa Roach's 2003 hit song in the Friday, April 25 video — without ever hearing the song before. Related: John Stamos Is Joined by Son Billy, 6, on Drums During Beach Boys Show: 'Had a Little Help From My Son' "I would tell every drummer that ever gets a chance to do this, don't," Stamos joked at the start of the clip. The You actor has been drumming for years and has performed with The Beach Boys along with other musicians, including B.B. King, Tom Jones, John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen. For the musical challenge, Toews played "Last Resort" for Stamos with the drum part removed, giving him a chance to improvise on his own. After attempting to figure out the drum parts of "Last Resort," which Stamos guessed was a "pretty heavy metal kind of vibe," his wife Caitlin McHugh and son Billy walked through, covering their ears with their hands. Stamos' second and third takes slowly improved, where he had a better understanding of the nuances within the song. After his final take, covered in sweat from the vigorous drumming, the Grandfathered actor asked if the song was Ozzy Osbourne. Stamos then heard the version with the drums included and learned who actually played it — David Buckner of Papa Roach. Toews told Stamos that a lot of his drumming was similar to the actual song's beat. is now available in the Apple App Store! "I haven't heard me play it yet so I don't know about that. But I survived." Fans were excited to see Stamos take on the challenge. "Never in my 32 years on earth did I ever expect I'd watch a video of John Stamos playing Papa Roach on drums," one fan said on YouTube. "It's f------ insane how good drummers almost always find something insanely close to the original song," a second wrote. "Personally i don't think it's fair that John Stamos is this talented AND handsome. Really couldn't have the decency to be only one," someone else teased. Another agreed: "The wife coming through passively complaining about the noise and how long the activity has been going relatable." John Stamos went to Mar-a-Lago for charity. Intolerant liberals lost their minds. | Opinion The left's intolerance is well-documented, but the outrage and horror directed at John Stamos for merely attending an event at Donald Trump's property startled even me. Show Caption Hide Caption Bill Maher brushes off liberal critics ahead of Trump meeting Comedian Bill Maher is planning a White House meeting with Donald Trump, facilitated by Kid Rock, despite years of political criticism. Straight Arrow News Back when actor John Stamos was on 'Full House,' I remember having a crush on his character Uncle Jesse. Yet, it's been a few decades since I thought much about him. So it caught my eye when he popped up in the headlines. Stamos (still handsome at 61) is living proof that no good deed goes unpunished. The actor had the audacity to emcee an April 5 charity event for health care workers – get this – at Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump's resort and residence in Palm Beach, Florida. I know, right? The left's intolerance is well-documented (torching Teslas, anyone?), but the outrage and horror directed at Stamos for merely attending an event at Trump's property startled even me. There's no question that Stamos is a Hollywood liberal (although he seems much less strident than some of his peers). He's not suddenly converted to a MAGA cultist. He simply was asked to participate in a sold-out evening to raise money for the Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations, which helps address the nursing shortage in Palm Beach. And he graciously did so. Opinion: Torching Teslas? Climate-loving liberals driven crazy by Trump harm their cause. John Stamos has to defend attending a charity event? Give me a break. When Stamos' lefty fans found out where he had been, however, all hell broke loose. Here's a sampling of what they wrote on his Instagram page – including on a post where Stamos is raising awareness about giving to Make-A-Wish to help children with life-threatening illnesses: 'John, you can support nurses a trillion different ways. Supporting them while at the wannabe dictator's house isn't the way to do it.' 'Glad you popped up! I need a reminder to unfollow you' 'MAGA clown 🤡 totally done with you!' 'Enjoy all your new MAGA fans! Now the people banning books and hating minorities are on your team, great for you! Let me know how that works out for your career! 👏👏👏' 'How dare you say it isn't political. Tell that to the millions of people in your own country and around the world being hurt by this man. Supporting him is supporting bigotry, hate, racism, sexism, etc. whatever helps you sleep at night, right?' 'Grow a pair a balls and stand up for Democracy!' 'What were you thinking going to Marolago?! Thought better of you. Looks like fascists of a feather….' Now, I'd like to think that Stamos would just ignore such idiocy. It seemed to bother him, though, and he took to an Instagram story to 'explain' himself. He said that the fundraiser was nonpartisan and that 'supporting nurses isn't political ‒ it's essential.' 'These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most, and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day,' he wrote. 'I stand by the importance of healthcare, of service, and of investing in those who care for our communities.' Stamos also assured followers his 'values and political views remain unchanged.' He had dinner with Trump at the White House. What happened to Stamos reminded me of a very different Trump-related encounter. 'Real Time' host Bill Maher recently had dinner with the president at the White House. That is notable as Maher has not held back in his pointed criticism of the president (and vice versa). Yet, when Trump supporter and singer Kid Rock wanted to set up the dinner, Maher agreed. So did Trump, to his credit. Maher likes to avoid party labels, but he's an old-school liberal. And while he has plenty of criticism for Republicans, he has also made a name for himself by calling out the worst actors on the left. Opinion: Let DEI die. Trump's playing hardball, and colleges are smart to fall in line. Maher has no patience for illiberalism and wokeness, which were on full display in the backlash that Stamos received. While Maher may hate some of the things Trump does, he said he does not hate him as a person. 'If you let yourself into that hate, then everything that happens you only see through the one partisan lens,' Maher said on a podcast. John Stamos' haters should take that advice to heart.
