John Stamos says he was with Mike Love when they learned of Brian Wilson's death
In a brief conversation with Entertainment Tonight while on the red carpet for the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala, Stamos got choked up when he recalled getting a text with the news of Wilson's passing while he was with Wilson's bandmate and cousin, Mike Love.
'Mike and I were together when I got the text, and I had to tell him,' Stamos said through tears. 'Without Brian Wilson, life would be a mistake.'
'I mean, his music has been part of my DNA,' Stamos wrote. 'And the beauty and the happiness and the joy and the optimism and the positivity that I've gotten from their music has made who I am.'
'You know, one of my greatest honors is when someone comes up and says, 'Oh, I got turned on to the Beach Boys because of you and 'Full House,'' Stamos shared. The actor and the band often collaborated via the hit sitcom in the 80s and 90s and continued their relationship over the last several decades.
'It's the greatest gift that I could have given back to them,' Stamos, who will be performing with the Beach Boys at The Town Hall in New York City, continued.
'Tomorrow will be our first show since Brian's gone,' he said, referring to the performance. 'I don't know how we're gonna get through it. You know, 'God Only Knows' starts playing, you know, but we'll get through it, and we have to, you know, for Brian.'
'I think, obviously, the rest of this summer, the rest of the live shows forever, I think will be dedicated to Brian Wilson, and will be a tribute to him.'
Wilson's family confirmed the news of his death in a statement shared on X on Wednesday, June 11.
Alongside a photo of Wilson, the statement read, 'We are heartbroken to announced (sic) that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now.
'Please respect our privacy at this time as our family (is) grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world,' it continued, before the family signed off, writing, 'Love & Mercy.'
Wilson made up one-fifth of the popular rock group known as the Beach Boys, which also included his brothers Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin, Mike Love, and their friend, Al Jardine.
Wilson founded the band in 1961, and the group skyrocketed to fame following the release of their first single 'Surfin'' released that same year.

She capped a 9-0 run with seven straight points, pushing the Aces ahead halfway through the third quarter. Chelsea Gray scored 13 points, and Wilson's birthday twin, Smith, had 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Aces Had Their 40th Consecutive Sellout Friday Night During the game, it was announced that the Aces set the WNBA record for most consecutive sellouts during Friday night's game. Security was on high alert, and it appeared there were more eyes on the court and in the crowd than usual. Players and coaches have been speaking out about this dangerous prank that could potentially hurt someone. And before the Aces game Friday night, the announcer shared that it is now a felony to throw anything onto the court. The person who threw a sex toy onto the court during the Golden State Valkyries vs. Atlanta Dream game on July 29 was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. It then happened again at the Golden State Valkyries vs. Chicago Sky game on August 1, and at the Indiana Fever vs. Los Angeles Sparks game on August 5. A second person was arrested at the Phoenix Mercury vs. Connecticut Sun game on August 5. Aces Recently Held A Back-To-School Drive And Fantasy Camp The Aces love being part of their Vegas community. They recently held a back-to-school drive and had their inaugural fantasy camp. On Thursday, two Aces players - Kiah Stokes and Dana Evans - helped pass out school supplies at the team's annual back-to-school drive held at Aces Headquarters. 'It was exciting when you get new things,' Aces Center Stokes said, according to KTNV. 'I think it makes the learning environment better, it made me want to learn, so hopefully it does the same for these kids.' Along with Stokes, Evans also helped to pass out tons of school supply items and 300 backpacks to kindergarten through 12th grade Title I Clark County School District students. 'They support and ride out with us, so I think it's only right for us to give back in ways like this,' Evans shared. The team's inaugural fantasy camp took place last weekend. According to their IG post, "The weekend included events such as competing on the Aces court, practiced with Coach Becky Hammon, and trained with franchise alumni Edna Campbell and Adrianne Ross at Aces HQ." Next up for the Aces - Sunday, Aug. 10 they face the Connecticut Sun at home, and then on Wednesday, Aug. 13, they go up against the New York Liberty, also at home.

Reba McEntire's son Shelby Blackstock writes heartfelt tribute to Brandon Blackstock
Reba McEntire's only son is paying tribute to his half-brother Brandon Blackstock, who died this week at 48. In an Instagram post on Friday, Aug. 8, Shelby Blackstock wrote in his caption that "words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son." Blackstock's family confirmed his death in a statement to USA TODAY on Thursday, Aug. 7: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," a statement read. In his individual note, the race car driver wrote that his older brother "was an irreplaceable part of our family – funny, bright, and full of life – and he will be deeply missed."
