Oasis front-man Liam Gallagher has issued an apology after trolling his fans on social media, sharing 'I'm old and read the room wrong.'
The 52-year-old teased a 'big announcement' for Monday morning, leadings fans to instantly hope he was set to announce more Oasis gig dates.
16 years following their split, Liam is set to reunite with his brother Noel for a string of Oasis gigs including two Croke Park dates later this year. Unfortunately, Liam didn't announce new dates, and his announcement was rather mundane, leaving fans to express their frustration at the Manchester native.
Taking to X at 6.20am on Monday morning, Liam shared: 'BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 6.30am.'

'I hope you're not lying,' one fan wrote, with another echoing: 'Honestly, I've got zero expectations here. Pretty sure there's a 99% chance you'll troll us anyway.'
Bang on 6.30am, Gallagher released the big announcement, which was: 'I WORK OUT.'

Devastated fans took to the comments proclaiming their hatred for the musician's teasing behaviour, with Liam simply responding to hate comments with 'Hate is such a strong word.'
Within ten minutes, the musician shared another post, admitting the trolling was 'good craic' as he 'got you all riled up to ras.'
If I caused any distress and upset anyone this morning I'm deeply sorry that wasn't my intention I thought it was a bit of fun I got it wrong please forgive me LG — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) June 9, 2025
'What made you wake up and think I'm gonna cause absolute CHAOS today for no reason?' someone asked, with Liam responding: 'Just checking you cats are still living in the real world and not all caught up in this social media existence.'
By 7am, the singer issued an apology, writing: 'If I caused any distress and upset anyone this morning I'm deeply sorry that wasn't my intention I thought it was a bit of run I got it wrong please forgive me LG.'
'Are you serious?' one replied, with Liam answering: 'Yes for all my faults I honestly don't mean to upset you lovely people I'm old and read the room wrong.'
Liam takes to the stage at Croke Park this August alongside his brother Noel for two sold nights as part of their Oasis Live '25 reunion tour.

It starts with Richard and Judy and ends at 9pm. We might as well put a fing spike in you.' Zak won't be part of the Oasis reunion, saying he texted them asking why he hadn't made the cut and was 'gutted' to learn they had Joey Warnoker in on the sticks instead. Looking back at his career, I ask Zak if he ever takes a moment to pinch himself. 'All of my dreams have come true,' he says. 'Who's on the phone? Oh, it's Oasis. Now Ian, who also worked on A Million Love Songs and Could It Be Magic, hopes the song will finally see the light of day. SABRINA CARPENTER will drop a new album called Man's Best Friend on August 29. She announced the record last night and it comes just ten months after her smash Short n' Sweet, which returned to No1 for a fifth time last month. Famous pub loved by Oasis brothers announces sudden closure after 25 years as ‘disappointed' brewers issue statement

A FAMOUS pub loved by Noel and Liam Gallagher is set to close this week. The Shaston Arms, in London's Soho, will be shutting its doors on June 15 for the final time. Advertisement 3 The Shaston Arms pub facade in Soho with its gold-on-red lettering Credit: Alamy 3 The Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam both drank there - but not together Credit: Alamy The iconic boozer is literally a stone's throw from one of London's premier shopping shopping destinations, Carnaby Street. Other famous patrons included film stars Ewan McGregor and Jude Law, the later of whom was apparently fond of the pub's bangers and mash. The 90s boyband Blue even signed their first ever contract in the establishment. Advertisement Read more on News With its gold-on-red lettering outside and its dark wooden panelling and plush red leather banquette seating, you could be forgiven for thinking the Shaston Arms was a Victorian relic. However, the pub actually only opened in 1999, since which it has been managed by landlady Sally Graham. Prior to that the location hosted a pair of shops. The name 'Shaston' was taken from the novelist Thomas Hardy, who invented the name for his imaginary version of Shaftesbury in Dorset. Advertisement Most read in The Sun To celebrate the pub's 25th anniversary last year, the public house changed its name to The Lady Shaston in homage to landlady Sally. One wag earlier this year posted on Facebook after visiting: "The Shaston Arms is now The Lady Shaston. My pronouns are still tipsy/drunk." Noel Gallagher looks stony-faced as he makes lonely Tube journey to Oasis rehearsals – but Liam's entrance is chaotic The pub was run by Dorset-based brewers Hall & Woodhouse. In a statement posted to Instagram announcing the closure, they said: "We are disappointed that after 25 wonderful years, we are sadly saying goodbye to The Shaston Arms in Carnaby. Advertisement "Our wish was to renew the lease on the building, but we understand that the landlord wishes to pursue a restaurant offer on Ganton Street. "Therefore, the Shaston Arms will sadly close on Sunday 15th June 2025. "We know that the Shaton will be missed by the local community and thank our guests and team for their loyalty, support, and laughter over the past two and a half decades." 2025 has been a difficult year for London's historic pubs, with some of the capital's most famous taphouses closing. Advertisement Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, on Finchley Rd in north west London , was shut down at the start of February, much to the displeasure of loyal customers. As staff poured their last pints behind the bar, one fan told the BBC : "You choose a pub with a different atmosphere - a lot of them are becoming like clones now." 3 Oasis sold more than 900,000 tickets for their reunion tour this summer Credit: PA "It's one of those institutions you've always seen when you come into London," added another. Advertisement Another east London hotspot, The Gun, in Homerton, also closed its doors in March after 160 years of pouring pints. However, the brewer behind The Shaston Arms does stillhave a number of other pubs in London, including the Ship and Shovell by Embankment, which is split across two buildings facing each other that are joined by an underground cellar.

He added: 'This time, we're all in a hotel in Bath the night before, me and the band, all the road crews, so we're going to have a right old p***-up. 'It's obviously the last time I do it, so I want it to be memorable. 'But I'm just going to go in, have a few drinks before I go on and enjoy myself like I've always done all my life.' It will be his second time at the festival after headlining in 2002, but it sounds as though he had a fair few drinks then, too. Asked what he recalls about last time, he confessed: 'Nothing. 'I think it's the alcohol intake over the years. 'I just cannot remember what happened at Glastonbury.' But while it will be a special moment, it has not come cheap. Speaking on the Sidetracked podcast on BBC Sounds – recorded before his recent illness – he explained: 'It's actually cost me £300,000 to do the show because I've got to bring all the band back from America and I've got to take them all the way back to America. 'Believe it or not, my kids, three of them, all bought their own tickets, because Glastonbury give nothing away. Nothing. 'Everybody asks me for tickets. All the time. Everywhere. People just come out of the woodwork. 'Oh, you haven't spoken to me for 25 years. Any chance I could have a ticket?'' Rod is a busy man, as alongside the Glasto show, he is working on the first Faces album for over 50 years, a solo country album, another solo record, plus documentaries about his life and his time as frontman of the Faces. But the singer said: 'I'm enjoying performing now more than I've ever done in my entire life and I'm in my 80s. 'You'll see it at Glastonbury. 'My energy, enthusiasm is overwhelming, almost. I've got a band that I absolutely adore being with.' And he's so excited to be there on the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday legends slot that he is even looking forward to people chucking their pants at him on stage – despite the fact they may be days-old, unwashed underwear. He added: 'Oh, it doesn't matter. 'They're my people.' Rather him than me . . .
