Xiaomi 15S Pro and its Xring O1 chip match the Xiaomi 15 Pro in AnTuTu test
In AnTuTu's performance ranking, the top Snapdragon 8 Elite phones post scores just north of 2.5 million, but most are below that – some going down to 2.2 million (e.g. Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13). Dimensity 9400 phones are in the mix too, but under the 2.5 million barrier.
So, where will Xiaomi's self-developed Xring O1 chipset land? Weibo poster Xiaomu Technology shared an AnTuTu result, which ended right on the 2.5 million mark. The phone on the left is the Xiaomi 15 Pro (Snapdragon 8 Elite) and the one on the right is its replacement, the Xiaomi 15S Pro with the new Xring O1.
AnTuTu results: Xiaomi 15 Pro (SD 8 Elite, left) and Xiaomi 15S Pro (Xring O1, right)
Well, this is an Xring O1 since there seem to be at least two versions – the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra uses a version of the chip with lower clocks. You can see it in the second image, the two top cores run at 3.9GHz on the phone (and 3.7GHz on the tablet).
Keep in mind that AnTuTu tests more than just the chipset, so other components can influence the final score. Still, this is a great result for what is essentially a first outing for Xiaomi's in-house chip design team – the Surge S1 was forever ago in tech terms. We should note that the Xiaomi 15S Pro unit had more RAM (16GB plus 6GB virtual) than the 15 Pro unit (12GB plus 4GB virtual).
This doesn't mean that Xiaomi's partnership with Qualcomm is over – in fact, just yesterday the two companies signed an agreement to ship more premium phones, tablets, wearables, smart home devices and XR glasses. Xiaomi will be one of the first companies to adopt the new Snapdragon 8-series chip.

Xiaomi 16 specs leak
The Xiaomi 16 has a new round of leaked specs to speak of, courtesy of the prolific Weibo account Digital Chat Station. According to him, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, and will have three 50 MP rear cameras: a main one with a 1/1.3" type sensor, an ultrawide, and a telemacro. The phone will allegedly have a battery over 6,500 mAh in capacity, and a 6.3-inch flat OLED panel with thin bezels on all sides. None of these specs is unexpected, perhaps only the fact that the telemacro isn't specifically called out as a periscope - the Xiaomi 16 was previously rumored to be getting one of those. Xiaomi 16 leaked illustrative render Since Qualcomm is making the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 official at the end of September, don't be surprised if the Xiaomi 16 will also be unveiled before that month ends. In the meantime, we'll surely be hearing much more about it, so stay tuned. Source (in Chinese) | Image source

New Galaxy Z Fold 7 Geekbench leak all but seals the deal – it's Elite and overclocked
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has appeared on Geekbench once again. The listing strengthens the case that we may not see a dual-chip strategy for the Fold, unlike the Flip. Much has leaked about Samsung's yet-announced foldable phones , the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. To the disappointment of a part of the world, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is said to come with an Exynos chip in some markets and Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite in others. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is almost unanimously rumored to only come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. And this new leak – the phone's Geekbench result – seemingly confirms it once again, almost to etch it in stone. We've seen a listing previously, but this one gives the single-core and multi-core results the Galaxy Z Fold 7 managed. The listing corroborates earlier rumors that the foldable will come with the special Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. This is an overclocked chip specifically made for Samsung. This is the config appearing in the Geekbench listing. The model here is SM-F966N, which is the Korean variant. The leaked version from earlier was the U.S. version. Now, the Z Fold 7 appears with two major cores clocked at 4.47GHz. This pretty much indicates we are looking at the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same chip powering the Galaxy S25 series. These results may not be final. | Image Credit - Android Headlines Before you get confused by the results, though, there's something worth mentioning here. These numbers may not be exact to how the chip actually performs. We are seeing here lower-than-expected results, which indicate that the unit tested may not have been a final product. The phone managed 2,617 in single-core and 9,369 in multi-core, and both are expected to be higher on the final build. The numbers for the final build of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy should resemble those of the Galaxy S25 Ultra: Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may come with a dual-chip strategy, and in some markets, it may come equipped with the Exynos 2500. From all that's rumored thus far, the Exynos chip is expected to be inferior to Qualcomm's processor. So, the good news is that the Fold 7 seems to be slated to sport Qualcomm's chip globally. As for when we're going to see both the Flip and the Fold, the latest rumors are Samsung is planning an 'early July' announcement. Possibly, we'll also see a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (or Xe, or Flip FE, however it ends up being named). Also, we may see a glance at the company's first tri-fold phone, reportedly sporting the rather mundane name of Galaxy G Fold (for some reason). The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will face the world's thinnest foldable, Oppo Find N5, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and potentially an Honor Magic V5 for the title of the best foldable phone. In the meantime, Apple is said to be cooking its own version of a foldable – it's first – but this bad boy is not expected before the end of 2026. Apart from that, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to rock a similar design to its predecessor with some refinements. We may see a less prominent display crease, very thin bezels for the folding screen, and a slightly more useful display aspect ratio when folded. Recently, the phone leaked in a real-life image in a folded state, and the slight differences observed in the design indicate Samsung may equip it with a premium titanium backplate (and we also see a possible color it may rock, Icyblue). The foldable is likely to adopt a 200MP main camera, One UI 8 (its beta is now starting ahead of time), and a more modest 4,400mAh battery.

New mystery Redmi phone surfaces at the FCC
Earlier this month a mystery Redmi phone stopped by the FCC on its way to launch with no 5G and a 6,000 mAh battery. Today, we have another one - still a Redmi, also a mystery. This device does have 5G support, however, along with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC. It will run Xiaomi's HyperOS 2.0 when it arrives, and will be offered in three RAM/storage combos: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB. Mystery Redmi phone at the FCC These are all the details that we know about it so far, along with the model number 25062RN2DL. But even from those specs it's very easy to tell that this will be a lower-midrange device. Its model number implies it was initially planned for introduction in June, but Xiaomi and its sub-brands don't always follow these timelines, so while it's definitely coming soon, it's not actually a given that it will arrive next month.
