It's done it again. New York-Neapolitan-style pizzas are the order of the day here at Pitfire. We really don't need to tell you that Pitfire is firmly a Dubai institution.
Its latest outpost in Dubai Hills Estate now gives you the chance to enjoy the best pizza in town, alongside a fully stocked bar serving up a variety of grape and hop beverages, as well as some pretty creative mixed drinks.
There's everything from traditional pepperoni and margheritas to turkey ham and pineapple and even potato or dates, meaning whatever your jam you'll find it here. The crusts are puffy and blistered and the place for those compulsory garlic knots.

If you live anywhere near Sports City, you'll have heard of Pulcinella. A neighbourhood eatery that's one of the best pizzerias in Dubai, it has casual, family-friendly vibes and puffy-crusted pizzas that are perfect for sharing.
Pepperoni, margherita, capricciosa – all the classics are present and correct at Pulchinella, while there are also white bases, calzone and more to take a bite out of. One for your Friday night pizza list.

Za Za Slice

Starting life as a pop-up at Sole DXB, Za Za Slice comes from the co-founder of popular sandwich spot Rascals. Found at Jumeirah Garden City, Za Za Slice has quickly established itself as one of the best pizzerias in Dubai.
Pizzas boast thin and crunchy bases slathered with gourmet Italian ingredients, so expect a flavour-packed slice that belies its unassuming location. There aren't many seats at this pizza bar – which only serves six types of pizza – so be prepared for a wait, which we assure you will be worth it.

Blu Pizzeria

With an extremely petite menu – with a little over a handful of pies listed – Blu Pizzeria focuses on doing a few plates, well. And it succeeds. One of the best pizzerias in Dubai, this unassuming spot at Umm Suqeim Harbour serves perfectly prepared Neapolitan-style pizzas, with blistered sourdough crusts and plenty of toppings.
Opt for burrata, spicy pepperoni or margo (our top pick with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte cheese and basil) for a classic slice, while musakhan comes with sumac sauce and sautéed chicken. There's also short-rib or truffle for an indulgent take on pizza.

Franky's Pizzeria

The Park in JLT is one trendy place to visit – being home to cool Asian street food eatery Hawkerboi and café Splendour Fields. And now you'll also find Franky in Florence here – one of the best pizzerias in Dubai, and one of the newest.
Neapolitan-style pizzas come adorned with toppings including cavallo nero, black truffle and mushroom, mussels and prawns, 'broken meatball' or classic stracciatella. The interiors are decked out with foliage and artwork, while the views from this rooftop spot are also superb. Order a drink and enjoy a slice at sunset.

Il Motto
Originally known for serving up the best pizza in New York, a meal down at Il Motto sure doesn't disappoint. You'll find plenty of great deals down at this JBR joint, including a three-hour brunch with free-flowing pizza on Friday and Saturday nights as well as Sunday afternoons. It's also prime for date night between 5pm and 8pm on Friday to Sunday with belly-busting offers for couples. The best bit? The pizzeria opened its terrace at the end of last year, making it a great spot in more clement weather.

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele
Credit: L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele
A globally renowned name, L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele is also one of the best pizza places in Dubai. Originally from Naples, branches in Dubai can be found in City Walk, JBR and Dubai Hills, but our pick is the City Walk version, which is in the new, licensed C2 area.
Dig into authentic Italian flavours aboard pillowy wood-fired crusts. Keep it simple and go for the margherita, with agerola mozzarella, pecorino cheese and fresh tomato sauce.
Licensed. City Walk, @‌pizzeria_da_michele_dubai (04 548 4489).
Luigia Dubai
Bright and lively, Luigia offers the full spectrum of Italian cuisine, all of it fairly traditional and very good. Where it excels, however, is in its pizza-making.
There's a choice of almost 40 different types of pizza, but they all share some key characteristics: dough is matured for 48-56 hours, crusts are perfectly blistered, raw ingredients are carefully selected and overall, the pies are made to be as easily digested as possible. Which means we can eat even more of them.
The stromboli, with tomato, fior di latte, peppers, Grana Padano and a choice of fennel sausage or spicy sausage never lets us down, and there are heaps of veggie options too.
Licensed. Rixos Premium Dubai, The Walk, JBR, luigia.ae (04 349 6950).

Moon Slice
Credit: Moon Slice
Moon Slice offers some of the most exciting, innovative toppings when it comes to pizza in Dubai, so if you're in the mood for something other than pepperoni you're in the right place (although, disclaimer, it does a pretty excellent version of that, too).
A short rib pizza comes with a tangy barbecue sauce base and an avocado one is drizzled with yuzu mayo one. One of the most popular pizzas is topped with wagyu carpaccio, spicy meatballs and arrabiata, while the MS Secret is one of several white bases with cheese and truffle.
Dough is fermented for 48 hours before being fired at 380°C for a blistered, Neapolitan crust.

Pull Me Pizza
Credit: Pull Me Pizza
Born in Dubai, this New York-style pizzeria serves its pizzas by the slice or the entire 20-inch pie. Ideal if you're not sure which toppings to go for or you just want a sneaky snack.
Our top picks? Roni Queen, which comes with red sauce, baby pepperoni, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, basil leaves and honey, and Pull Me, with pink sauce, pulled beef, sautéed onions, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and BBQ sauce.
Order a slice of each and a side of hot honey to drizzle all over them. You'll never eat pizza without it again.
Alcove Residences Building, JVC, @pullmepizzeria (04 558 6470).

Hugh Jackman, 56, larks around with his much younger co-star, 25, after eyebrows are raised over their racy sex scenes in new play

is currently starring in a play with 25-year-old Ella Beatty and on Wednesday the pair were seen larking it up during rehearsals. The Wolverine actor, 56, shared some photos to social media which captured him and Ella hamming it up during a break. Hugh had his arm wrapped around the budding actress, who is the daughter of Hollywood legend Warren Beatty, and he beamed from ear to ear as he gave the camera a thumbs up. Meanwhile, Ella was all smiles as she pointed to the logo on her shirt, which read: 'New York's Real Aussie Embassy.' Hugh captioned the photos with some amusing words: 'Ella agrees!' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It follows reports that Hugh is turning up the heat on stage - as he continues to date his new girlfriend, Broadway actress Sutton Foster. In the intense play Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, Jackman plays Jon, a three-time divorced, middle-aged college professor and novelist who dives into a forbidden relationship with his 19-year-old student Annie, played by Ella Beatty. The Wolverine star doesn't hold back in the provocative off-Broadway show — swearing up a storm, getting graphic about sex, and locking lips in multiple steamy make-out scenes with Ella. Foster, 50, even made a backstage appearance this week, trying to quiet whispers that their new relationship has been on shaky ground since going public in January. But the show's raunchy moments can't be easy to watch for Foster, as Hugh and Ella frequently kiss — at one point making out on a desk as a scantily clad Ella wraps her legs around him. Adding more fuel to the gossip mill, fresh photos of the pair holding hands during the curtain call have sent tongues wagging. The two beamed with pride, looking completely at ease with the intimate gesture. It's not just the steamy make-out scenes turning up the heat — Hugh also unleashes a barrage of expletives, including blunt, graphic lines about a college cheerleader 'sucking his c***' It follows reports that Hugh is turning up the heat onstage - as he continues to date his new girlfriend, Broadway actress Sutton Foster The play digs into messy questions of consent and power, with Annie, a smitten student hooked on Jon's steamy novels, chasing his attention, while Jon battles temptation, a failing marriage, and the fallout of getting involved with a student. Offstage, Hugh's own split from Deborra-Lee Furness seems to mirror the emotional storm. The actor, who has only been married once, announced his split from Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. In a joint statement at the time, they said they were 'shifting' and had decided to 'separate to pursue our individual growth.' The couple share two adopted children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19. Hugh and Sutton's relationship reportedly overlapped with the end of his marriage. The two had been friends for years in the same theatre circles but only went public after they were photographed holding hands earlier this year.

What's not to love? Dakota Johnson stars as a matchmaker caught in a love triangle with Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans in the new movie, Materialists

It's been hailed as the movie that will revive the box office rom-com. With superhero franchises dominating cinema for the past decade or two, the golden age of the Nineties and Noughties romantic comedy that made Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jennifer Lopez household names was missing, and the romance genre has largely been reserved for streamers. But Materialists, starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, is building so much buzz on social media, it could draw audiences back into cinemas in huge numbers. Between the combined star power of three of Hollywood's biggest players, a not-your-average love storyline, and the credentials of the film's Academy Award-nominated director Celine Song, Materialists has all the ingredients to become an instant classic. So jump in the girls' group chat, or schedule a date night, and get your ticket for the cinema when Materialists opens Australia-wide on June 12. Dakota Johnson dazzles as the leading lady in this smart modern romance, playing a New York matchmaker who ends up torn between a perfect-on-paper love interest and her imperfect ex. Her performance as the ambitious Lucy, navigating the Manhattan dating scene for her clients while wrestling with her own definition of love, is being applauded as one of her best roles to date, following Johnson's roles in the Fifty Shades franchise, as well as The Peanut Butter Falcon and Black Mass. With nine successful matches for her clients, Lucy approaches finding love through calculation. But her own values are thrown into upheaval when she meets a 'unicorn' love interest who ticks all of her boxes, at the same time the ex-boyfriend she left behind walks back into her life. Marvel star Chris Evans plays Lucy's college sweetheart and struggling actor John, while, star of The Last of Us and The Mandalorian Pedro Pascal plays the final piece in the love triangle as magnetic billionaire Harry. With acclaimed filmmaker Celine Song at the helm, cinema goers can rest assured the film will delve deeper than the average fluffy rom com romp. The film has been praised as holding a mirror up to society's values when seeking someone to spend their lives with. So many people on the dating scene show up with a superficial checklist of their dream match. But the film explores whether someone's height, job, and bank balance has any real importance in a lasting partnership built on true love. How often the expectations of dating— superficial, materialistic— are so at odds with what we know love is meant to be— unconditional, forever. 'The math is never going to work when it comes to love, and the contradiction of that is what's at the heart of the film,' Song says. 'The film is meant to be about this impossible, contradictory, mysterious thing.' Song was nominated for two Oscars for her debut feature Past Lives, including Best Motion Picture, which she wrote and directed. Like Past Lives, Song drew from her own experience for the premise of Materialists. The storyline is based on Song's time working at a prestigious New York matchmaking service while trying to get her break as a playwright. Song would help Manhattan's private equity managers and business elite find love with an eligible match who ticked off all the items on an often lengthy and demanding checklist. 'I feel like I learned more in those six months about people than I learned from any other period of my life,' Song says. 'The things that are in the movie came from the truth I learned: that there is a very funny, very dark objectification of each other's humanity, and therefore a very real commodification of each other, as we go through this thing that we call dating. But it's supposed to be in pursuit of love.' 'The whole idea was about trying to get as big a value as you can in your market— I was acting like I was a stock market trader,' Song recalls. 'It shouldn't actually have anything to do with who we're getting buried with, but the way that everybody was talking about what kind of a partner they wanted was as if they're talking about a car or a house they want to buy. The language is exactly the same. I was so stuck on the dissonance of it.' Song examines all of this as Lucy interviews clients and their potential matches, then wavers over the clash of chemistry versus math in her own love life. Materialists opens in cinemas on Thursday, June 12. To see it first, visit the website to find a special preview screening on Wednesday, June 11, near you.

The sweet and salty pots cost £4.99 or £3.99 for Lidl Plus members, which is far more expensive than the store's other chocolate spreads. However, the price tag is not deterring customers, and the shop has implemented a strict three-jar-only policy. One shared a snap of the toast topping on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group. Followers flocked to the comment section to tag friends and family in the post. Lidl has said it will be available "while stocks last" - so you may want to get in quick. The Big Daddy Pistachio is on the pricier end, costing £8.50 for a big 280g bar. Similarly posh supermarket Waitrose also released a version for £10. Despite the price, it was so popular the retailer had to impose a two-bar limit on shoppers. Sainsbury's started selling a Lindt version of the Dubai-style chocolate for £10. Iceland is selling two different bars: the Nelino Dubai-Style Chocolate (£2 for 62g) and Bolci Dubai Chocolate (£5 for 100g). Bolci's Turkish-made treat is also available at Morrisons. Meanwhile Home Bargains is selling Dubai Chocolate Cookies for the bargain price of £1.25.
