Cops have launched a probe after a woman was found dead at a Scots flat.

Tragically, a 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are treating the death as "unexplained" as they launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 6.45am on Sunday, 11 May, 2025, we were called to an address in Dalrymple Street, Stranraer.
'Officers attended and a 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
'Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.'
Elsewhere, in an unrelated incident, how police are investigating the death of a 71-year-old teaching assistant in the Southside of Glasgow.

A first picture of Margaret McGowan was released this morning as cops confirmed they had charged a 78-year-old man in connection with her death. Margaret was found seriously injured at a property in Newfield Square in Nitshill.
Police raced to the scene shortly before 9.45pm on Saturday night but sadly the 71-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. A 78-year-old man has now been charged in connection with her death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Tributes poured in for Margaret, who was understood to be a teaching assistant who worked at nearby Gowanbank Primary School. Devastated locals left floral tributes outside the property and children have left drawn pictures.
The words"RIP Margaret, we miss you" were also written in chalk on the pavement outside the home.
Well-wishers took to social media to pay tribute to Margaret. Sharon Carberry wrote: "So sad, god love her. Thinking of all her family at this very sad time."

Margaret Ball said: "I remember her, she was a lovely women xxx" Mcpherson Elle added: "Such a shame Mrs McGowan was such a lovely woman x"

Elsewhere in the city, a murder investigation was launched after a young boxer was found seriously injured in a property.

Josh Taplin, 28, was found at the property on Caldwell Avenue in Knightswood on Monday, May 5. Police raced to the address after officers received a report of concern for a person at 3.35pm.
It emerged that the young boxer was fatally slashed. Locals told the Record how one neighbour bravely battled to save Josh before emergency services arrived at the scene.
One resident, who wished not to be named, said: "Our neighbour was alerted to Josh being injured and ran into the house to try to save him. He tried his best but by that point, it just wasn't possible. It was a traumatising ordeal for him.
