At my house, returning home from work or errands always comes with the greatest surprise. Flinging the door open, I'm always greeted by the most excited hype squad who cheers (barks), jumps, and sometimes pees a little(!), by my presence. I deserve none of that for just running to the gas station for a few minutes, and yet, that's what I get!
I'm sure other dog parents agree — there's nothing like a pup's "welcome home." Compared to the nonchalant, vague acknowledgment of my existence from my cats, I thought dog greetings couldn't be topped. But then one extremely devoted Cockatoo said, "Hold my beer."
Charlie Junior's love for his dad is such a beautiful gift, but it makes me wish my pets would do more of this stalker-level obsession! The waiting by the window, the countdown once he sees the car pull in, the absolute thrill of seeing Dad is unmatched. I wouldn't want to be the spare parent in this house (sorry, Mom)!
Charlie and Dad's relationship is crazy strong. They're beyond bestie level and more like soulmate status. Their bond is something more than 192k TikTok fans can't get enough of, and this clip of Charlie waiting for Dad's 6 p.m. return is exactly why!
As one person pointed out to Mom, "The way he immediately turns on you when he knows Dad will be home soon," and yeah, that has to sting! "I can't cope with the cuteness," another added."The absolute audacity that Dad has to work. He should be at home treating me like the totality that I am," another correct person joked. I'm sure if Charlie could say more than his vocabulary allows, he'd say as much!
When Dad's home and the two boys are chillin', they love doing everything together. It doesn't even matter if Dad's napping, because Charlie's not going anywhere. The entertaining Cockatoo's favorite one-on-one time is when Dad sings so he can perform his VIP dance... and it's really that cute!
I could seriously watch these two all day. It doesn't matter if it's Charlie waiting by the window for his number one guy or they're hanging out, singing and dancing — I'm here for all of it!

Pokemon Presents Announced for July 2025 With Pikachu Speaker Tease

It's that time again, trainers: Grab your Pokedex and get ready to catch some new pocket monsters, because we're about to hear everything on the latest developments in the world of Pokemon. The Pokemon Presents July 2025 stream is the first one since Pokemon Day in February. That stream ended up being pretty massive, featuring game announcements and content updates that we heard whispers about from GameFreak's infamous 2024 data breach. While we don't know what to expect this time around, it's safe to assume that we'll hear about the next mainline games, mobile titles, live service updates and more. Here's how you can watch the upcoming Pokemon Direct -- and what you can expect to see once you tune into the stream. We've seen an official trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but the upcoming Pokemon Presents stream could divulge more information about the game. Nintendo/Screenshot by CNET How to watch July 2025's Pokemon Presents stream The upcoming Pokemon Presents stream will take place on Tuesday, July 22 at 9 a.m. ET. The stream will go live on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. Not sure when July's Pokemon Presents will go live for you? Here's when the event starts in your time zone: ET: July 22 at 9 a.m. July 22 at 9 a.m. CT: July 22 at 8 a.m. July 22 at 8 a.m. MT: July 22 at 7 a.m. July 22 at 7 a.m. PT: July 22 at 6 a.m. We don't know exactly how long the event will run, but previous Pokemon Presents streams have ranged from 10 to 20 minutes long, depending on how many announcements are prepared for the stream. Pokemon Go just celebrated its ninth anniversary -- we can expect to hear more about this mobile game (among others) during the upcoming Pokemon Direct. Nintendo/Screenshot by CNET What can you expect from Pokemon Presents July 2025? This Pokemon Presents stream is positioned at a strange time -- Pokemon Legends: Z-A for the Nintendo Switch 2 has already been announced and we have plenty of info (and gameplay footage) available for that game. We might still get a segment that expands on new gameplay mechanics or Pokemon that players will be able to find in this version of the Kalos region, especially Mega forms we haven't yet seen. The official Pokemon Company Japan X account teased this Pokemon Direct with a rather foreboding photo of Pikachu standing in front of some DJ equipment, so we might just hear about a Pokemon rhythm game. Between that, New Pokemon Snap and the return of Mystery Dungeon, I'm loving the reintroduction of bizarre offshoot games. It's also possible that generation 10 will be announced during the presentation. There are usually three years between mainline Pokemon titles, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released in 2022. Unless GameFreak is looking to polish the next big games with some extra development time, we're probably due to hear about the next generation of Pokemon games extremely soon. Pokemon Day 2025 featured an announcement for Pokemon Champions, a dedicated Pokemon battling game, but we haven't heard much about the game since. We could very well get an update about that game during this stream, explaining more about how the game will integrate the series' long list of battle mechanics and giving us a better idea of when we'll see a full release. Otherwise, the backbone of this presentation will very likely be composed of routine updates and new features for Pokemon mobile and live service games. We can expect to hear about new Pokemon coming to Pokemon Cafe Mix, Pokemon Masters Ex and Pokemon Sleep, with the potential for new playable pocket monsters to be revealed for Pokemon Unite. With Pokemon Go changing hands from Niantic to Scopely, it's also possible that the extremely popular AR game will have announcements that shake up core gameplay features for Pokemon trainers worldwide. The recent addition of the Gold Bottle Cap was already a massive change for the status quo. I'd be willing to bet that the next Pokemon TCG Pocket set will be revealed during this Pokemon Presents as well. New expansions are usually teased at the end of each month, which lines up with this stream. The last Pokemon Presents included info about a massive set expansion, too, so the precedent is already set for this reveal. If you're excited for non-gaming Pokemon content, there's also a chance we'll see some Pokemon Concierge during the Pokemon Presents July stream. The second season for this slice-of-life Pokemon hotel series is set to release on Netflix in September, so we might catch a scene or two teasing the show and get an official release date.

The Paramount comics, Colbert and Stewart, are sharp critics of the '60 Minutes' deal

NEW YORK (AP) — This isn't a joke. They've made that clear. CBS 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert condemned parent company Paramount Global's settlement of President Donald Trump's lawsuit over a '60 Minutes' story as a 'big fat bribe' during his first show back from a vacation. Colbert followed 'The Daily Show' host Jon Stewart's attack of the deal one week earlier. Stewart works for Comedy Central, also owned by Paramount, making the two comics the most visible internal critics of the $16 million settlement that was announced on July 1. Colbert's 'bribe' reference was to the pending sale of Paramount to Skydance Media, which needs Trump administration approval. Critics of the deal that ended Trump's lawsuit over the newsmagazine's editing of its interview last fall with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris suggested it was primarily to clear a hurdle to that sale. 'I am offended,' Colbert said in his monologue Monday night. 'I don't know if anything — anything — will repair my trust in this company. But, just taking a stab at it, I'd say $16 million would help.' He said the technical name in legal circles for the deal was 'big fat bribe.' Jon Stewart terms it 'shameful' Stewart began discussing the 'shameful settlement' on his show a week earlier when he was 'interrupted' by a fake Arby's ad on the screen. 'That's why it was so wrong,' he said upon his 'return.' He discussed the deal in greater detail with the show's guest, retired '60 Minutes' correspondent Steve Kroft, making his views clear through a series of leading questions. 'I would assume internally, this is devastating to the people who work in a place that pride themselves on contextual, good journalism?' Stewart asked. 'Devastating is a good word,' Kroft replied. A handful of media reports in the past two weeks have speculated that Skydance boss David Ellison might try to curry favor with Trump by eliminating the comics' jobs if the sale is approved. A representative for Ellison did not immediately return a message for comment on Tuesday. It would be easier to get rid of Stewart, since he works one night a week at a network that no longer produces much original content. Colbert is the ratings leader in late-night broadcast television, however, and is a relentless Trump critic. The antipathy is mutual. Trump called Colbert 'a complete and total loser' in a Truth Social post last fall, suggesting CBS was wasting its money on him. 'HE IS VERY BORING,' Trump wrote. Colbert slips in a quip Colbert alluded to reports about his job security in his monologue, pointing to the mustache he grew during his vacation. 'OK, OK, but how are they going to put pressure on Stephen Colbert, if they can't find him?' he joked. Colbert and Stewart both earned Emmy nominations this week for outstanding talk series. Together with ABC's Jimmy Kimmel, all three nominees are tough on Trump. CBS News journalists have largely been quiet publicly since the settlement's announcement. Two top executives, CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon and '60 Minutes' executive producer Bill Owens, both quit or were forced out prior to the settlement for making their dissatisfaction about the idea known internally. Reporting about the settlement on the day it was announced, 'CBS Evening News' anchor John Dickerson said viewers would have to decide on their own what it meant to them. 'Can you hold power to account after paying it millions?' Dickerson asked. 'Can an audience trust you when it thinks you've traded away that trust? The audience will decide that. Our job is to show up to honor what we witness on behalf of the people.' ___ David Bauder writes about the intersection of media and entertainment for the AP. Follow him at and
