Six-year-old girl dies after being hit by Range Rover in Rochdale

A six-year-old girl has died after being hit by a Range Rover.
Emergency services were called out to Ashfield Road, in Rochdale, at around 5.35pm on 28 April following reports of the incident.
The Range Rover was travelling westbound when it collided with the young schoolgirl who had entered the road, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The girl suffered serious injuries from the collision and sadly died a short time later. Specialist officers are supporting her family.
The driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Officers from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now investigating the incident and their enquiries are ongoing.
They are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with any information as soon as possible.
Detective Constable Thomas Johnson, from SCIU, said: 'I firstly want to pass my condolences onto the family of the girl who tragically died following last night's collision.
"The thoughts of everyone from our investigating team are with them and we are continuing to support them where we can. As our work progresses, we are asking for anyone with any information to please come forward.
"You may have witnessed last night's incident, or have relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage. If you can send this to our officers, this would be greatly appreciated as we put together a complete picture of last night's incident.'
