‘Class and decency aren't his strengths,' ‘Always resort to personal attacks': Kaneria slams Pakistan teammate Afridi, backs Irfan Pathan
Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has voiced his support for ex-India cricketer Irfan Pathan when he opened up on his heated exchange with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi. The all-rounder from Baroda divulged that Afridi often tried to provoke him with sharp remarks and personal comments while highlighting some of the intense moments they shared both on and off the field. Coming in Irfan's support is Afridi's teammate in the Pakistan cricket team, Kaneria, who said Afridi has always resorted to 'personal attacks' and that 'class and decency are not his strengths'. 'Irfan bhai, you're absolutely right. He always resorts to personal attacks, be it on someone's family or their religion. Class and decency clearly aren't his strengths,' Kaneria posted on X, formerly Twitter. Earlier, Pathan narrated an incident from the 2006 Pakistan tour, when both the Indian and Pakistani teams were flying together from Karachi to Lahore. 'During the 2006 tour, we were flying from Karachi to Lahore. Both teams were travelling together. Afridi came and put his hand on my head and messed up my hair. He asked me, 'How are you kid?'' Pathan recalled during the interview with Lallantop. 'I thought since when did you become my father. He behaved like a child. I was neither talking to him nor saying anything. After this Afridi said some bad things to me. His seat was near mine.' Irfan explained how he responded, which silenced Afridi for the rest of the flight. 'Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq was sitting with me then. I asked him what kind of meat is available here. He told me meat of different animals are available. After this I asked whether dog meat is available. Razzaq was surprised to hear me and said, 'Hey Irfan why are you saying this?' To this, Pathan replied: ''He (Afridi) has eaten dog meat, he has been barking for so long'. 'After this Afridi could not say anything. If he said anything I would have said look he is barking more,' recalled Pathan with a chuckle.

War 2: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's actioner sets box office on fire, creates 5 BIG records in 4 days
War 2 box office collection: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani's War 2 was released worldwide on August 14. Despite facing tough competition from Rajinikanth's Coolie , the film drew a large audience in the Hindi and Telugu markets, although it didn't perform as well in Tamil. With a massive budget and mixed reviews from the audience, War 2 still managed to break several records on its opening day. According to Sacnilk , the film earned Rs 52 crore in India alone on Day 1. From becoming the biggest opener for both Hrithik and Kiara to securing the third spot behind Spider-Man, the Ayan Mukerji directorial has set new benchmarks. War 2 left Chhaava behind on opening day With an opening of Rs 52 crore, War 2 left Vicky Kaushal's blockbuster film Chhaava far behind. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava had an opening of Rs 33.10 crore. This difference in opening-day collections clearly shows how eagerly audiences were waiting for this action-packed film starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. In fact, the combination of big stars, high-octane action, and a popular franchise helped War 2 make a strong impression right from day one. War 2 beats 3 films of the spy franchise War 2 has secured the third position in the production house's spy franchise, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Tiger 3 . The only films ahead of it in terms of opening day collections are Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan , which opened at Rs 57 crore, and Hrithik Roshan's prequel War , which opened at Rs 53.35 crore. War 2 is the second biggest opening of Indian cinema in 2025 Although War 2 couldn't surpass Coolie on its first day, it still achieved the second-biggest opening of the year. By overtaking Chhaava and pushing it further down the rankings, the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer demonstrated its strong hold on Indian audiences. Hrithik Roshan's biggest worldwide opening War 2 has also become Hrithik Roshan's biggest worldwide opener. While the original War grossed Rs 78 crore globally on its first day, the sequel has surpassed it with Rs 84 crore. Hrithik's star power, combined with the film's action-packed appeal, has made this release a global success, setting a new personal record for the actor. Kiara Advani's biggest opener For Kiara Advani, War 2 has now become her biggest opener, surpassing her previous hits MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Kabir Singh. In its opening weekend alone, the film crossed the Rs 170 crore mark in India, giving tough competition to Rajinikanth's Coolie . Alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also features Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor in key roles.

Coolie Day 5 India Box Office Estimates: Rajinikanth's crime-drama falters on 1st Monday after record extended Kollywood opening weekend
Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and starring Rajinikanth, had a record Kollywood opening weekend of Rs 227.25 crore. Not just that, it also took a record Kollywood global opening of Rs 375 crore. While the weekend was record-breaking, the numbers were slightly under expectations, given how big the movie opened. Based on the opening day, the weekend numbers should have been close to Rs 250 crore in India and over Rs 400 crore worldwide. Coolie Falters On 1st Monday By Grossing Just Rs 12 Crore The mixed word of mouth took a toll on the Lokesh Kanagaraj movie. After the already slumping weekend trend, the movie grossed just Rs 12 crore on day 6. The numbers are 80 percent down from Independence Day Friday and that's alarming. If the movie continues to drop like this, a Rs 300 crore gross India final can be a struggle. Also, that would mean that a Rs 500 crore gross worldwide finish would become impossible, as the highest that Coolie can do at the international box office based on its current trend is USD 21 million (Rs 183 crore gross). The collections in Tamil Nadu will likely end under that of Good Bad Ugly. The collections in Kerala shall end up being half of what Jailer did in 2023. The film's exceptional Karnataka and APTS collections over the opening weekend should ensure that the film breaks even or atleast comes very close to it. The Day Wise India Gross Collections Of Coolie Are As Under Day India Gross Collections Thursday Rs 75.50 crore Friday Rs 63.25 crore Saturday Rs 47 crore Sunday Rs 41.50 crore Monday Rs 12 crore Total Rs 239.25 crore gross in 5 days Coolie Will End Up As One Of The Top 5 Highest Grossing Kollywood Movies Worldwide But The Final Result Will Be Seen As Underwhelming Coolie, despite putting up record-breaking initial collections and being a film that will surely be a part of the top 5 highest grossing Tamil movies at the worldwide box office, will be seen as an underwhelmer because the expectations were of a record grosser. The Tamil industry will have to wait for Jailer 2 or Jana Nayagan to really see its potential unleashed again.
