Ione Skye reveals dark details about dating Red Hot Chili Peppers star Anthony Kiedis when she was just 16

Daily Mail03-07-2025
Ione Skye has opened up about her two-year relationship with Anthony Kiedis when she was just 16, while he was 24 and a drug addict.
The pair struck up a romance in the '80s, with the actress, 54, recently revealing the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman, 62, impregnated her and then paid for the abortion.
She broke down the details of their relationship in her memoir, and has now spoke on It's A Lot with Abbie Chatfield, calling him a 'dominating, controlling person'.
'I think he's trying to feel powerful,' she said when host Abbie asked why she believes Anthony has pursued relationships with much younger women for most of his life.
'He obviously has a huge ego. And so, I think part of it is to feel in control, and powerful, and a dominating type of person.'
'You know, if you're challenged by being with someone [your own age]… he just needs to be the dominating, controlling person,' she added.
Anthony has been linked to several women throughout his life, including a two-year relationship with model Helena Vestergaard when she was 19 and he was 52.
He also shares son Everly Bear Kiedis with ex Heather Christie, who he started dating in 2004 when she was about 18 and he was 41 - they split in 2008.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Anthony for comment.
It comes after Ione spoked candidly about aborting Anthony's baby when she was just 17-years-old and admitted he paid for the procedure, but sent her to the clinic alone.
In her memoir Say Everything, released in March, Ione recalled being in a Beverly Hills doctor's office alone after falling pregnant with the Red Hot Chili Peppers singer - who was a drug addict and 25-years-old at the time.
Explaining her decision to not keep the baby, Ione wrote in the book: 'I was the type of girl who'd wanted a baby since I was a baby, who used to fantasize about finding a swaddled infant on my doorstep or catching a flying ghost baby with a butterfly net.
'But fantasising was different from seeing. I couldn't see having a baby at this point.'
She went on to say of Anthony: 'He seemed to think that by paying for me to have the termination at a nice Beverly Hills doctor's office instead of Planned Parenthood he was being a mensch.
'He hadn't offered to be with me today, just guiltily dropped me off at the curb.
'To say nothing of the fact that after our AIDS scare, and the supposed new lease on life he'd gotten with the negative test result, he'd gone on using needles and having unprotected sex with me. And I'd consented to that.
'Other people in our group had unsafe sex and they were fine, I kept telling myself, using my teenage reasoning. Of course, I could see how irresponsible we were being.
'Whether Anthony could see it too, he obviously wasn't ready to grow up, to take care of himself and others, to make real adult choices. Anthony wasn't yet strong enough for all this. But I was the girl - I had to be.'
The London-born actress also confirmed she has no regrets when it comes to the abortion and wrote: 'I was taking care of myself now, making a choice that felt good and important for my future.
'I wanted to be young and also to keep working. I would not have a baby at 17, with someone who didn't want to be a dad, wouldn't commit to me and had anger issues. Not to mention the heroin.
'And besides that, I was depleted enough from worrying about Anthony and worrying what people thought of us and worrying about my career.'
'I was sure that adding a newborn to my list of things to worry about would be the end of me,' she admitted.
Despite opening up about the relationship in her memoir, Ione confirmed she didn't talk to Anthony about it beforehand.
'I stay in touch with his mother, but not with him,' she revealed to People. 'I'm very curious about what he'll think - he and my father.
'They're the ones I'm most nerve-wracked about. But everyone who has read it says it's a good read.'
Ione's father is Mellow Yellow singer Donovan, and she also opened up about their rocky relationship in the book.
But despite the tell-all nature of her book, Ione insisted she approached it with care.
'I definitely don't want to hurt anyone. But some people I named in the book have read it, and luckily everyone has loved it,' she told the outlet.
She also shared actor John Cusack previewed the memoir, where she reveals they slept together years after the film.
'I had to get it out of my system,' she wrote, per the outlet, referring to their rendezvous following her divorce from Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz.
And it seems John's reaction was priceless as he texted her the following message after reading the book: 'You made the experience sound so meh! It wasn't "meh" for me.'
However, Ione stood by her portrayal of the incident and said: 'I'm telling a story, and it was more about how all of our chemistry was in our working together and stimulating each other's minds, not sleeping together!'

Grammy award winner confirms biopic on legendary singer B.B. King in the works – and The Masked Singer star taking part

A GRAMMY-award winning entertainment mogul has confirmed a poignant biopic on blues legend B.B. King - with a star from The Masked Star taking part. Vassal Benford, who has worked with superstars including Jennifer Lopez, Michael Bublé, Diplo and Mariah Carey, hailed the beloved icon - who would have turned 100 this year. 4 4 Benford, a famous music producer, record executive, and film composer, has teased the release of a new multi-million-dollar film on the legendary King, who died 10 years ago. He told The U.S. Sun, "It's about Mr King's entire life story - the biopic will be shot to depict from the beginning to the end of his life." Although Benford declined to reveal who is starring, he did reveal the names of two prominent singers whose music will feature. One such star is Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, who has appeared in movies such as Fast & Furious. He also fooled viewers when disguised as "Mushroom" while singing Stevie Wonder's I Wish in season 4 of The Masked Singer. Another singer whose music will feature in the film is Quavo, one-third of the now-separated rap duo Migos. Quavo - who used to be a close pal of fellow rapper Chris Brown - performed at hip-hop concert Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles in March. Having music from such current major singers means the biopic will also intrigue a younger audience, "and make sure it is in touch with today's music," Benford said. The mogul - who has previously produced and orchestrated a sold-out Michael Jackson Tribute Concert, featuring the legendary Jackson Family - will score the film and its music soundtrack. Benford said, "It'll also show how B.B. King left his hometown, ended up in Memphis and kind of mentored Elvis Presley. "It's a beautiful story." King admired Presley - describing him as being "very shy" when he first met the then-budding star in Sun Studio in Memphis. He recalled in a TV interview, "He was a handsome guy... he would watch [me play]. He had everything, the looks, the talent, he was tall, he could sing and play." LUCILLE Benford added, "The story includes telling about how Lucille, his famous guitar, came about." King played a Gibson guitar that he affectionately called Lucille. Benford said the biopic would be a poignant tribute to the late great musician, as "B.B. King is one of the most iconic characters of all time from the blues." The mogul, who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, said he "knows so many people in the entertainment industry who were influenced by B.B. King." "I want to show what his life story is and how he has impacted on so many artists - and others - across the world, with his music. "Anyone who comes from that era who can turn around and touch the world, despite the odds, and make it big that time... I admire him his life story. "And you have to remember this is his centenary - 100 years of blues," he added. I want to show what his life story is and how he has impacted on so many artists. Vassal Benford The icon's nickname was King of the Blues, and he continued to perform well into his 80s even though the 15-time Grammy winner had diabetes. B.B. King: more on the legendary blues king For most of his career spanning nearly 70 years, Riley B. King was hailed as the undisputed king of the blues, thanks to his scorching guitar licks and heartfelt vocals - sung with a velvety voice. Born Riley B. King on Sept. 16, 1925, on a tenant farm near Itta Bena, Mississippi, King was raised by his grandmother after his parents separated and his mother died. A preacher uncle taught him to play, and he honed his technique in abject poverty in the Mississippi Delta, the birthplace of the blues. The legend became a mentor to scores of guitarists, including Eric Clapton, Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and Keith Richards. King recorded more than 50 albums and toured the world, often performing 250 or more concerts a year. He continued to perform well into his 80s, even though the 15-time Grammy winner had diabetes. King played a Gibson guitar that he affectionately called Lucille. His style included beautifully crafted single-string runs punctuated by loud chords, subtle vibratos and bent notes. The result could bring chills to an audience, no more so than when King used it to full effect on his signature song, The Thrill is Gone. He would make his guitar shout and cry in anguish as he told the tale of forsaken love, then end with a guttural shouting of the final lines: 'Now that it's all over, all I can do is wish you well.' King died at age 89 in May 2015 at his home in Las Vegas. King, who got his start in radio with a gospel quartet in Mississippi before moving to Memphis, Tennessee, died in 2015 at home in Vegas. Benford said that, at the time of his passing, he had also been living in Vegas, as "my godfather lived here - he passed around the same time as B.B. King." Because of his huge connections within the entertainment industry, he was approached by King's family to become chairman of the B.B. King Estate, where he plays a key role in preserving and expanding the legacy of the blues icon. Benford explained, "I wasn't the chair of the estate at that time, but I was approached by the family to become its head - I was producing Richie Sambora, and met the grandson of B.B. King and one thing led to the other." U2 TRIBUTE He has since overseen initiatives to honor King's life and huge contributions to music. Just last year, U2 paid tribute to the legend during their Las Vegas residency at The Sphere. Although he didn't reveal the release date of the upcoming biopic, Benford said, "It's in pre-production right now. "It'll be released into cinemas worldwide - there will be an announcement on the release in 2026." He said the pre-production phase includes working alongside producer Mark Canton, known for films such as 300, Immortals, and the Power television series. Benford is co-chairman and CEO of Benford & Canton Studios, a media production company he co-founded with Canton. Last year he co-produced several tracks on Chris Brown's album 11.11, which received a Grammy nomination and won R&B Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards. RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE Benford showed The U.S. Sun an impressive collection of memorabilia including a very rare glimpse of the original Rumble in the Jungle guitar used by B.B. King himself. The legend used his original model at a music festival which promoted the famous heavyweight boxing match between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in Zaire 1974. 4 Who is Vassal Benford? ‘This kid should start therapy from birth' people gasp as parents-to-be reveal baby's VERY unfortunate name

A MUM and dad have left people stunned after revealing the name they've chosen for their unborn child. The proud parents delightedly took to social media to share the name they've settled on for their "beautiful daughter", who's due on 4th September. 2 2 In the post, they explained that they'd wanted to pay tribute to their parents, the baby's grandparents, by coming up with a unique moniker using their three names. "Fecalynn - honouring her grandparents Fernando, Cameron and Lynne - who are important parts of my husband's and my lives," the mum-to-be wrote. The name announcement was shared on the That Name is a Tragedeigh group on Facebook, with the poster writing alongside a screenshot: "Just found this one. Poor Fecal!" Unsurprisingly, the comments section was immediately filled with people taking aim at the parents over the choice of moniker. "Give me strength! The lass must change her name when she turns 18," one wrote. "In other news: this kind of rubbish should be illegal to do to a future adult human," another added. "This is not even a good pet name!" "This kid should start therapy before birth," a third sighed. "She'll need it. Moms like this need serious mental help." Influencer couple who gave son a VERY unique name have done it again with holiday-inspired moniker for their baby girl "This kid is gonna get the literal fecal matter bullied out of her," someone else commented. "I never thought I would hear a name that is wildly unsanitary, but here we are," another wrote. "Awww, sweet. We can call her Feces, for short," someone else joked. "No no no no no!!!!!! Ugh. Can't be real. Correct…?!" another pleaded. While someone else hilariously added "You've got to be s**ting me", another insisted: "People like them really aren't looking at dictionary before naming their children!" And others in the comments added that there are tonnes of other name options that incorporated the three grandparents' monikers - that don't include the word "Fecal". "Like not Cameron Lynne or something?! Please??" one wrote. "Camando sounds better than that. My goodness!" "A hyphenated name would be less tragic than this," another added. "Fernanda-Lynn Cameron. Still not great but better than this atrocity!" "Felynnca, Fyrnne, Rondolynne, Camdolynne," a third commented. "I hate them all, but they're all better than FECAL and I just thought of them with less than 30 seconds effort!"
