The Minnesota Vikings need help at wide receiver immediately, given the upcoming three-game suspension for Jordan Addison and a string of injuries depleting J.J. McCarthy's pass-catching core. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirmed that the Vikings are "seriously exploring" veteran receivers in the trade market as Addison's replacement to begin the year, Jalen Nailor, suffered a hand injury last week. Carolina Panthers veteran Adam Thielen is considered a top target, given the homegrown Minnesotan's ties to the team and familiarity with Kevin O'Connell's offense. Read more: J.J. McCarthy Faces Brutally Honest Take After Vikings Camp Minnesota Star Tribune beat reporter Ben Goessling addressed the possibility of a reunion with Thielen, who may be too expensive for what would essentially be a three-game rental before Addison returns. Do you want to spend that much on somebody you may only use in that significant of a role for a few weeks... It would be fun... I don't see it, but it would be fun." The Vikings have the cap space to take on Thielen's contract, but whether he would be willing to take a step back into the third wide receiver spot once Addison returns from suspension remains to be seen. Carolina has spent back-to-back first-round picks at the position in Xavier Legette and No. 8 overall pick Tetairoa McMillan. Meanwhile, in Minnesota, Nailor's outlook to start the season remains a major question. He is considered week-to-week with a hand injury that the team is continuing to assess. Packers Reveal Jordan Love Injury Update With Week 1 Looming

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Green Bay Packers have dealt with quite a few injuries issues already during training camp. With Week 1 of the regular season coming up quickly, Jordan Love is one of the most important injuries that fans are monitoring. Love had to undergo a surgical procedure on his thumb. Thankfully, it involves his non-throwing hand. Other injuries of note are star safety Xavier McKinney, backup running back MarShawn Lloyd, cornerback Nate Hobbs, and wide receiver Christian Watson. Matt LaFleur, the Packers' head coach, spoke out with a brief update about the team's franchise quarterback. Love returned to practice in limited form. "I thought it was good just to get him back out there, back in the mix, into the rhythm of playing quarterback," LaFleur said. "We did some different things with him that we haven't done in the past. I mean, we pretty much were primarily doing everything under center. So, I thought it was good work." While he is back and participating with the team, LaFleur did make it clear that Love will be "very limited" in the team's joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks. Love enters the 2025 season with huge expectations and a lot of questions. He was expected to have a breakout season in 2024, but a knee injury in Week 1 that knocked him out for two games derailed those plans. After the injury, he was never able to get back into a good rhythm. Assuming he enters the upcoming campaign fully healthy, Love will have another chance to prove that he can truly be a franchise caliber quarterback for Green Bay. If Love plays up to his full potential, Green Bay should be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. There is a lot riding on Love's arm and his health this season. LaFleur's update is a good one, but he needs to be firing on all cylinders by the time the Packers take on the Lions in a couple of weeks.
