Bengaluru auto driver's honest take on Hindi-Kannada row delights Internet. Watch video

India Today26-07-2025
A video of a woman chatting with a Bengaluru auto-rickshaw driver about language tensions prevailing in the city has gone viral. The reason, you may ask, is the driver's grounded reply. The clip, shared by Khyati Shree on Instagram, shows her trying to pick up basic Kannada phrases during the ride. The auto driver not only helps her patiently but also addresses the often-discussed 'Hindi vs Kannada' debate with disarming simplicity.advertisement'Yeh thoda aadmi ka problem hain, aisa aisa karke jhagda hota hai. Warna koi problem nahi hai, acche se rehte hai sab Bengaluru ke andar sab first class hai,' he says, implying that most language-related confrontations stem from personal frustration, not deep-rooted hostility. According to him, life in the city is peaceful and people generally get along well.
Khyati seconded that thought in her caption. 'I've stayed in Karnataka for four months and travelled beyond Bengaluru. I've never faced any issues about language. I interacted with countless auto and cab drivers, locals, and ate at many places; no one cared if I spoke Hindi, as long as I was polite,' she wrote. She further shared that despite reading about language clashes, her personal experience had been quite the opposite. 'Before travelling to coastal Karnataka, I was anxious about facing angry drivers. But that never happened. Knowing English helps, but it's more about how you behave,' she said. It's her second time in the city, and she added that 'the vibes are still nice.'Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Khyati Shree (@khyatishree2)Instagram users had a lot to say about the viral video. A user, who claimed to have lived in Bengaluru for 25 years, wrote, 'People here aren't bad. They only react when provoked. Never faced any language issue myself.'Another user called the city 'a vibe' and praised how it welcomes everyone. One of the users, however, added a reminder: 'Respect goes both ways. Learn a few Kannada phrases - it makes locals happy. You wouldn't expect people to speak Hindi in Japan or China, would you?'While the internet often amplifies conflict, this video came as a much-needed reality check for all of us. Maybe, sometimes, all it takes is patience, politeness, and a little effort to understand each other.- EndsTrending Reel

Ahmedabad: In a significant move this academic year, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has incorporated value-based chapters from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita into first language textbooks for Classes 9 to 12. The board has added two chapters each to Gujarati, Hindi, English, and Urdu first language textbooks. This initiative, part of the state's effort to align education with traditional Indian knowledge systems, aims to instill moral and ethical values among students. The Gujarat govt had taken decision under the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 drafted by the Centre. Last year, it launched a supplementary textbook on the Bhagavad Gita for students in Classes 6 to 8 to connect them with India's "rich diverse and ancient culture". "While the chapters for Classes 9-12 have been directly included in Gujarati textbooks, supplementary booklets have been prepared for Hindi, English, and Urdu," said an education department official. Whatever the domain, from science to education, and arts to sports, they have proved their mettle. Many of them were not privileged to have things served on a platter, hence they fought at every single step and made space for themselves. Ultimately, they emerged victorious. The woman we are going to talk about today is one such strong woman of substance, who proved her grit against all odds. She is a famous English teacher, Neetu Singh, popularly known as Neetu Ma'am. Who is Neetu Singh, aka Neetu Ma'am? Neetu Singh, popularly known as Neetu Ma'am, is a famous English teacher who has drawn a lot of attention due to her professional as well as personal life. Madhuri In Walk, Heal, Repeat Mode At Vantara: Take A Look At Elephant Mahadevi's Routine & Recovery

Elephant Mahadevi (Madhuri) has chronic foot issues, signs of laminitis, a long-standing toenail abscess, and painful swellings on both knees, with fractures and arthritis in feet After 33 long and painful years, Elephant Mahadevi (Madhuri) is experiencing at Anant Ambani's Vantara what her daily routine should have been in the wild. Mahadevi has been brought to the Jamnagar facility from Kolhapur, where she was at Swastishree Jinsen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswami Sansthan (Jain Math) at Nandani village. She was made part of processions with tight ropes around her stomach, and brought back to her solitary confinement at Swastishree Jinsen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswami Sansthan (Jain Math) at Nandani village in Kolhapur. She kept battling multiple injuries, which were only ignored. Elephant Mahadevi's transfer to Vantara In 2017, after years of excruciating loneliness and frustration from her cruel and bleak living conditions, Mahadevi fatally attacked the chief priest of the same Jain Math. Such incidents are not uncommon — elephants held in cruel, unnatural conditions often lash out in frustration and from psychological distress. This led to the involvement of a local politician and eventually the courts, which ordered her transfer to Vantara. While the move led to protests, Vantara in a statement said: 'Vantara was not the initiating party, and that the entire process has been conducted under judicial and statutory oversight, in coordination with the appropriate authorities. The organisation acknowledged Mahadevi's deep emotional and cultural significance in Kolhapur, but it acted solely as a court-appointed recipient facility. The reasons for the transfer are fully documented in the judicial orders, which speak for themselves." Radiographs showed fractures and arthritis in her front feet. The team has now devised a detailed treatment protocol to address the root causes, ease her discomfort, improve mobility, and support her recovery. While we await her lab reports, her nutritionist is already planning a tailored diet. For now, Madhuri needs plenty of rest, comfort, and care. To everyone who's been concerned about Madhuri: we see you, we hear you. We promise her the highest standard of care, gentle, consistent and rooted in love." That's the life Madhuri is finally discovering at Vantara. From when she eats to how she heals, every hour aligns with her pace." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vantara (@vantara) Another post shows Madhuri enjoying the hydrotherapy. 'There's something deeply soothing about seeing Madhuri in the water, curious, calm, and completely at ease. The chance to float, explore, and just be herself means everything," the post said. top videos View all View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vantara (@vantara) 'Hydrotherapy is more than a part of her recovery. It helps ease the pressure on her joints, supports movement, and offers comfort from the pain of chronic inflation and arthritis," it said.
