Emilee Hassanzadeh and her dog Wendell were visiting her home state of Minnesota when the pair decided to drive 20 minutes to Hassanzadeh's sister's house to catch up.
She put Wendell, who's 4 years old, in the car and turned on the seat heater. Once they arrived, she took him out and let him play around her sister's house while they chatted. After a while, Hassanzadeh and her sister decided to get some exercise and head to Starbucks for coffee, just a half-mile away.
But when the dog mom went to grab Wendell, she realized she'd forgotten something.
"I didn't bring a leash," Hassanzadeh tells PEOPLE exclusively. "So we started searching around [my sister's] house for something we could use. She's never had a dog before, and I'm the crazy dog lady of the family, so it was really shocking that she didn't have one."
"I'm like, 'Okay, do you have a rope? A ribbon? Maybe an infinity scarf?' " the N.Y.C.-based actress and singer recalls. "My sister had just moved into a new house and was doing this minimalist thing, so she didn't have any odds and ends, which is so weird to me. I have tons of odds and ends."

Then, out of the corner of her eye, Hassanzadeh spotted an extension cord that her phone charger and laptop were plugged into. "I'm thinking, 'Can we use that? Is that crazy? Are people going to look at us funny?' " she remembers. "My sister's like, 'Just leave him at home, Emilee.' But I'm thinking, no way — he needs a pup cup, and he wants to get his steps in too. We've been cooped up in Minnesota, and it's snowing."
So, Hassanzadeh proceeded to tie the extension cord around Wendell's harness, and the sisters set out on their way. The whole time, Hassanzadeh says she felt ridiculous.
"It probably didn't look that weird, but I felt crazy because all his leashes in New York are designer," she adds. "He's a stylish dog. He's got some Fendi — we call it 'Wendy and Fendi' — and all my friends make fun of me for spending more money on his clothes and accessories than I do on my own. So, the fact that I'm walking him with an extension cord is just ... ridiculous."

Once the sisters and Wendell arrived at Starbucks, Hassanzadeh went to order a drink from the barista. As she was ordering, feeling self-conscious about Wendell being on an extension cord, she looked at the barista and said, " 'Hey, total disclaimer — I am not trying to electrocute my dog. I forgot a leash, and I really didn't want him to miss out on a pup cup.' "
Instantly, the barista laughed and replied, "Oh my God, you did the right thing. We're so glad you brought him!"
"Everyone thought it was hilarious, and they were cracking up," she adds, recalling the rest of the customers in the store reacting to the extension cord mishap. "Wendell was honestly just thrilled because he was getting so much attention from everyone — pets, kisses, you name it."
In the moment, Hassanzadeh pulled out her phone and recorded Wendell's adventures in Starbucks on the extension cord. Later, she posted it to TikTok, where it's since gone viral, amassing more than 400,000 views.
She says this incident has made her realize how in addition to her phone, wallet and keys, she needs to add "dog leash" to her checklist of things to always have with her.
"I posted it thinking my friends would see it and laugh," she says. "Then I went to a yoga class, and when I got out, I saw that it had hundreds of thousands of views. I was like, 'Oh my God, what?' I honestly wasn't expecting that at all, and it made me laugh so much reading through all the comments. There were so many people sharing what they've had to use to walk their dogs in a pinch when they've forgotten a leash."
"This one woman said, 'Yeah, I had to walk my dog with a microphone.' And that was hysterical — like, that's pretty on-brand for us. I'm a singer, and I do have a microphone lying around my house. Someone else mentioned using pantyhose. Another girl talked about using her car charger to walk her mini dachshund. There was a tube sock. People were using everything under the sun, and I was just cracking up scrolling through the comments."

'Bachelor 'Alum Vanessa Grimaldi Shares She Experienced Second Miscarriage in a Year: 'Still Feels Surreal'

Vanessa Grimaldi has experienced her second miscarriage in less than a year. On Monday, June 9, the former Bachelor star, 37, posted a series of slides on her Instagram and revealed that she experienced another miscarriage, her second in the past year. Titled "When the Heart Breaks Again: Miscarriage No. 2," the slides shared Grimaldi's candid thoughts after learning she had miscarried a second time. "This is my second miscarriage. Saying that out loud still feels surreal," Grimaldi wrote. "Especially finding out during my ultrasound. Again. It adds another layer to the grief, one that's heavier, more complicated and harder to put into words." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Grimaldi, who is mom to son Winston, 2, shared that the only place that's bringing her peace in her home is sitting in her son's room. "It's comforting in a way I can't quite explain," Grimaldi wrote. "I'm so incredibly grateful for him. My healthy, joyful little boy," she continued. "And at the same time, my heart aches for the baby I never got to meet. I keep thinking about Winston as a newborn. All the firsts, the sleepy snuggles, the tiny milestones. I imagined getting to live through those moments again." "But instead, I'm left with the silence of what could have been. Again," wrote Grimaldi. She went on to say her mind "feels foggy" and said while she's usually good at making space for her feelings, she now just wants to stay busy and avoid the "heaviness." "Grief is strange. It sneaks in, even in the middle of gratitude," Grimaldi said. "But today, Josh helped me do one small thing just for me. He got me an iced cappuccino. Something I haven't had since finding out I was pregnant." "It felt simple. But also like the first step back to myself. A small moment of comfort in a sea of ache," she continued. "And to every mama navigating this kind of heartbreak, I'm sending you so much love and comfort." In September, Grimaldi posted a series of slides on her Instagram and shared that she experienced a miscarriage. "I wasn't sure how to share this. But, I knew I wanted to," she began. "A few months ago, I had the 2 biggest surprises: finding out I was pregnant, then finding out I miscarried," Grimaldi said. She continued, saying it took a while to allow her body to let go as she went through ultrasounds, blood tests, doctor appointments and many conversations with friends. "It was a hard yet bonding process that made me feel less alone and ultimately helped me heal," Grimaldi said. Read the original article on People

ICE says it detained TikTok's top star, Khaby Lame, who then left the US

Lame, an Italian-Senegalese creator with around 160 million followers on TikTok, had overstayed the terms of his visa after entering the US on April 30, the spokesperson said. He was briefly detained at Las Vegas's Harry Reid International Airport before being granted voluntary departure. He's since left the country, they said. A representative for Lame declined to comment. The 25-year-old creator became TikTok's most-followed star in 2022 after developing a signature comedic style of silent reactions to social-media absurdities. The creator leveraged his TikTok audience into a business that BI previously reported had grossed $16.5 million in 2023 from brand deals alone. After gaining internet fame, Lame broke into other parts of media, attending this year's Met Gala and building a collection with the clothing brand Hugo Boss. Lame has also partnered with brands like Google, State Farm, and Pepsi, which worked with the creator in a marketing push tied to the 2024 Super Bowl. He's appeared as a character in the video game "Fortnite," and previously said that much of his brand work is in the US. "I don't think I have a single sponsor in Italy," Lame told BI last year. The main thing keeping him in Italy is family, he said.

Diddy Called Her 'Crack Pipe' — Then She Suggested He Go to Rehab, Ex Testifies

Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial continues after the judge struck down the defense's motion for mistrial One of his former girlfriends says she wanted him to get help towards the end of their relationship Jane, who is testifying under a pseudonym, was in a relationship with Diddy until his arrest last yearSean "Diddy" Combs' girlfriend asked him to seek help in rehab towards the end of their relationship, she told the jury at the music mogul's trial. The witness, who is testifying under the pseudonym "Jane," elaborated in court Combs' alleged relationship with drugs as she went under cross-examination on Tuesday, June 10. Jurors heard a voice note that Combs sent to Jane around March 2023, shortly after they returned from a trip to Turks and Caicos. 'You are the crack pipe. That's my new name for you: crack pipe," he said in the voice note. "Call you CP." Combs seemed unwell towards the end of their relationship, prompting her to suggest rehab, Jane told the jury. 'I felt he was developing jaundice,' she said. 'His gums were gray, probably from drug use,' Jane continued. 'I felt that his hands were shaky probably from over-consuming alcohol.' When she suggested he go to rehab, Combs responded: 'What the hell, you think I need rehab?' This wasn't the first mention of drugs in the trial. During her testimony last week, Jane alleged Combs made her transport drugs across state lines on at least two occasions, and she was able to do so with advice from his former chief of staff Kristina Khorram. Jane has also alleged Combs often gave her drugs such as ecstasy to get her prepared for "Hotel Nights," days-long sex sessions where she was allegedly forced to engage with other men, she told the court. Combs has not been charged with any drug-related offenses. Jane's testimony rings remarkably similar to several claims by Combs' other former girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, the prosecution's star witness. Similar to Jane, Ventura also alleged Combs forced her to engage in sexual encounters with men, often for days on end — though in her case, they were allegedly called "Freak Offs." Combs has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution; he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
