Viktor Gyokeres 'makes final threat to Sporting' in desperate push for Arsenal move
Viktor Gyokeres has made his latest attempt to force through a summer transfer to Arsenal.
The 27-year-old scored 54 goals in all competitions for Sporting last season and a move away from Portuguese club this summer has felt inevitable.

Manchester United were believed to have interest on Gyokeres, who worked under Ruben Amorim at Sporting, but it is Arsenal who have moved into pole position to sign the Swedish striker.
The Gunners are also keen on Benjamin Sesko, but recent reports suggest that wage demands have proved a problem with the RB Leipzig forward.
Gyokeres has therefore emerged as a top target again and Portuguese outlet Record report that he has called Sporting president Frederico Varandas to demand he is sold.
It is claimed that Gyokeres told Varandas has has given his all and should be allowed to leave for Arsenal, and urged the club to accept a fee of €60m plus €10m in add-ons.

Gyokeres is said to be desperate to join Arsenal and warned Varandas that he will never forgive Sporting if they delay and force the Gunners to look elsewhere for a new striker.
He made it clear that he has no intention of returning to the club for the new season.
It is not the first time this summer that the Sporting president has been dragged into this transfer saga.
After reports emerged that Gyokeres and Sporting supposedly had an agreement that the club would allow him to leave for €60m plus €10m, Varandas hit out at the striker's agent and insisted there was no set fee.
'They should know me better by now,' Varandas said.

'Threats, blackmail and insults do not work with me. And I can guarantee one thing: Viktor will not leave for €60m plus €10m. I never promised this.
'With this game that the agent is playing, the situation is only getting worse. To date, Sporting have not had an offer for Viktor Gyokeres. Not today or last summer.'

Roma consider summer move for Brighton midfielder
Roma Exploring Move for Brighton Midfielder Matt O'Riley Roma reignite interest in Premier League talent According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Roma are exploring the possibility of signing Brighton midfielder Matt O'Riley this summer. The report suggests that Roma head coach Daniele De Rossi is a long-time admirer of the Denmark international, with his interest tracing back to Gasperini's desire to sign O'Riley during his Atalanta days. Photo IMAGO Advertisement Roma are said to be 'trying to understand if there is room to start a negotiation with Brighton', who remain guarded about parting with one of their more consistent performers. The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong campaign in 2023–24 and remains under contract with the Seagulls. Brighton's stance is currently unclear, but Roma are expected to test the waters in the coming weeks. Our View – EPL Index Analysis Reports linking Matt O'Riley with a move away will cause understandable concern for Brighton supporters. At a time when the club is seeking stability and a clearer identity under new leadership, losing a composed, technically intelligent midfielder would feel like another step backward. O'Riley has grown into a reliable figure in the Brighton engine room, capable of dictating tempo and offering composure in high-pressure moments. His tactical discipline and underrated passing range have allowed others to play with freedom, which makes his potential departure particularly damaging. Advertisement Moreover, if this interest from Roma becomes formal, there is always the risk that a player's head could be turned. Trigoria is an attractive destination, especially under De Rossi, who knows how to inspire confidence in young talent. Tthe bigger question is whether Brighton can genuinely compete in keeping their top assets when foreign clubs come calling. This summer should have been about building on the club's identity, not further chipping away at it. Losing O'Riley might suggest that the cycle that brought European football to the Amex has reached an uncertain turning point.

(Photo by) Thus far, things remain at a bit of an impasse between Inter, Galatasaray, and Calhanoglu. The Turkish club have yet to make an offer for the former AC Milan midfield. Advertisement And while Inter may be prepared for some level of compromise in negotiations, they are still going to hold relatively firm as far as their valuation goes. Reports suggest that Galatasaray are ready to offer €15 million. And Inter are hardly going to accept a bid of that size. Not for a player of Calhanoglu's calibre. However, at the same time, the Nerazzurri are unlikely to hold firm to a €40 million valuation. Therefore, Inter and Galatasaray are likely to meet in the middle somewhat. According to Tuttosport, it could be for a fee of €25 million.
