
CM to meet 7 Union mins during Delhi visit

left for a two-day visit to New Delhi on Thursday. During the visit, he is scheduled to meet seven Union ministers to discuss various concerns for the state. He will also participate in
NITI Aayog
's governing council meeting and will present
Andhra Pradesh
's policy roadmap.
On Friday, Naidu will meet Union ministers for energy, defence, home, finance, Jal Shakti, electronics and information technology, and science and technology. He will discuss the green energy projects taken up by state govt with Prahlad Venkatesh Joshi, minister for new and renewable energy. Naidu is seeking collaboration with Union govt in the green energy sector and enhanced incentives for the state.
The CM will discuss defence and aerospace initiatives, including a missile testing range to be set up in Krishna district, with Union defence minister Rajnath Singh.
In the meeting with Union Jal Shakti minister C R Patil, Naidu will discuss pending irrigation projects and new proposals, including the Polavaram-Banakacherla project.
Naidu will focus on research, innovation, and industrial science collaborations with the minister for science and technology, Jitendra Singh, including AP's Quantum Valley, Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs, and the Centre's support for the projects.
He will meet finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and home minister Amit Shah to discuss AP's financial issues and the implementation of new criminal laws, respectively.
The CM will discuss digital infrastructure in AP and the required support for improving it further with Union minister for electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnav. On Saturday, he will attend the 10th governing council meeting of NITI Aayog and will present the initiatives taken up by AP.

New York Plane Crash: One pilot killed, another injured after small aircraft crashes onto road in Rochester
At least one of two men on board lost his life after a single-engine plane crashed onto a road on Friday (August 1, 2025) in the city of Rochester in New York State, police said, according to news agency AP. The other pilot sustained injuries. Speaking about the plane crash, police in the western New York city said that the Piper J-5 Cub Cruiser landed upside down along a roadway in the city's Maplewood Park area just after 1:30 p.m. There were no vehicles nearby at the time. According to police, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Their names were not immediately released. The crash was under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration. It was not immediately known where the flight originated or where it was headed. The crash site is about 5 miles north of the Rochester airport. Shah to visit Assam on Aug 29, join land protection drive & unveil new Raj Bhavan
1 2 Guwahati: Ahead of the assembly election early next year, Union home minister Amit Shah will join the state in its drive to protect its lands from encroachers here on Aug 29. Shah, who is also the cooperation minister, will address the panchayat members from NDA on the state govt's plan to form cooperatives in every panchayat. These cooperatives will use the vacant govt land on lease for cultivation and farming so that no encroachment on any vacant govt land can take place. Large swathes of forest lands in the state, illegally occupied by Bangladesh-origin Muslim people, are being cleared by the state govt. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing a press conference here on Friday, said, "The Union home minister will first inaugurate the newly constructed Raj Bhavan on Aug 29, which I think will be the best Raj Bhavan in the country. Thereafter, he will address a convention of the newly elected panchayat members of BJP and its ally Asom Gana Parishad." He further said the state govt is planning to form cooperative societies in every panchayat. "The responsibility of the cooperative societies will be to use the vacant govt land for agriculture, farming, or dairy. In the evening, Shah will attend the birth centenary of Assam's first non-Congress CM Golap Borbora. He will then return to Delhi. Fadnavis launches Pune Metropolitan Region Growth Hub in city
1 2 Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said the city has the potential to transform into a global economic centre by capitalising on its innovation, educational ecosystem and manufacturing strength. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) Growth Hub at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (Yashada), jointly organised by Niti Aayog , Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and the Pune International Centre (PIC).
