Paul Finebaum Names College Football Program He Likes 'So Much Better' Than Ohio State
It's been quite the month for the Texas Longhorns football program.
Texas has been participating in fall camp practices for the last two weeks and fans have been treated to many media sessions with coaches and players. The national media has had its eye on the Longhorns recently as well, naming Texas the No. 1 team in the preseason AP Poll and the preseason Coaches Poll.
Expectations couldn't possibly be higher for Steve Sarkisian's squad ahead of the 2025 season, but somehow ESPN's Paul Finebaum exaggerates Texas' preseason hype to the max. Finebaum joined SportsCenter recently and expressed high confidence in the Longhorns this season.
"They're the best team in the country," Finebaum said. "I like them so much better than Ohio State. I think they have a complete team."
Although Texas is a slight underdog to No. 2 Ohio State in the season opener on Aug. 30, Finebaum believes the Longhorns will prove why they're ranked No. 1 in the country and he's extremely confident in quarterback phenom Arch Manning.
Finebaum also noted that Steve Sarkisian has mentioned numerous times how he believes this is the best roster he's had since becoming the head coach of Texas. That speaks volumes considering the Longhorns have reached the College Football Playoff semifinal each of the last two years.
