Discover Samsung Summer sale in the US drops Galaxy S25 and Tab S10 prices

GSM Arenaa day ago

Samsung US's annual summer sale is live this week and has offers on all Samsung products until June 8 (Sunday). We focused on the Galaxy section of the store, of course, and here is what we found.
Smartphones
All four members of the Galaxy S25 family have effectively the same promo – a free storage upgrade and trade-in credit up to different amounts (depending on the model).
The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge tops out at 512GB, so that's the only variant available. You can also get up to $630 off by sending in an old phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has 512GB and 1TB variants with the prices of the tier below. The trade-in credit is the same as the Edge. By the way, check out Amazon US's Father's Day deals – there is an S25 Ultra for $1,000.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ have just the one storage upgrade – to 256GB and to 512GB, respectively.
Wearables
The deals for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7 are slightly different – you get a straight discount if you choose the no trade-in option or you can do a trade-in.
There's also the Galaxy Ring, which can be used instead of or in addition to a Galaxy Watch. This one only has a trade-in deal. Samsung Galaxy Ring up to $150 trade-in

Tablets
The tablet deals are structured similarly to the watches – you get either a straight discount or a trade-in deal.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is an exception to that as you get $400 off with no trade-in or $200 off plus the value of your old device. The Galaxy Tab S10+ is an either/or deal.
There are also the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ and Tab S10 FE.
Laptops
The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is a lightweight 14' laptop (2.71lbs). It has a 2,880 x 1,800px OLED touch screen and is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with Arc 140V graphics.
Instead of x86, you can go with ARM – the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is powered by a Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-42-100, 8 cores) or X Elite (X1E-84-100, 12 cores) chipset. This one weighs 3.26lbs.

Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone will disappoint in the charging department

Samsung has long been rumored to be outing its first tri-fold smartphone, a la the Huawei Mate XT, later this year. Whether it's going to be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 at its next Unpacked event in New York in early July remains to be seen. Regardless, the device is currently engaged in the global certifications dance, specifically it's been spotted in China's 3C database. This certification has revealed that the phone will only support 25W wired charging. Of course, a certification in China also confirms that the handset will launch over there. The tri-fold smartphone has the model number SM-F9680, where the "0" suffix signifies a phone intended for the Chinese market. Across the world, it will be SM-F968x, with the last character changing depending on market. SM-F968 has previously been associated with the tri-fold device. Unsurprisingly, the 3C certification also reveals the fact that Samsung will ship the tri-fold smartphone without a charger in the box. According to past leaks, the device will have a 9.96" folding screen and a 6.54" cover display, and will weigh 298g. Its release might be very geographically limited. Via

Apple loses in court, has to stop charging developers for payments outside of the App Store

Apple's request for a stay on a US court's ruling has been denied, so it has to immediately stop charging developers for payments made outside of the App Store. The company filed an emergency motion last month seeking a stay on a ruling in April, which found Apple in "willful violation" of a 2021 injunction that barred it from forcing anticompetitive pricing. It's also filed an appeal against that ruling, which is yet to be finalized, so things could still change in the future. Apple's stay is denied by the 9th Circuit Court. The long national nightmare of the Apple tax is ended. May next week's WWDC be the Apple-led celebration of freedom that developers and users have long deserved. — Tim Sweeney (@TimSweeneyEpic) June 4, 2025 But for now, Apple needs to stop taking a 27% fee on apps getting paid through non-Apple payment mechanisms, which amazingly it has been doing since it started allowing apps to link out and not handle payments exclusively through Apple. The company also has to eliminate the 'scare screens' it shows users before letting them use third-party payment providers for iOS apps. Spotify and Amazon are already making changes to their apps to reflect the new situation, so now you can pay for your purchases and subscriptions outside of the App Store without any 'Apple Tax'.

Apple reportedly delays the release of two AI-enhanced apps until iOS 27

We already have a good idea of what to expect from Apple this Monday when WWDC's Keynote kicks off at 10 am PDT (1 pm EDT). We also have a good idea of what not to expect Apple to unveil after pushing back the debut of "personal" Siri. You might remember the ad that showed actress Bella Ramsey panicking because she couldn't remember the name of this boy she met at a cafe a few months before. She asked Siri and the digital assistant went through her texts, emails, and other apps to get the name. Because of the delay that is pushing back the release of personal Siri, Apple pulled the ad . At this stage, it is hard to know exactly when "Personal" Siri and more "AI" based features will be coming to Apple's digital assistant. All indications point to a release of these features for Siri sometime in middle-to-late 2026. Apple also had to delay new features that would allow Siri to understand what was on your display and use that knowledge to respond to queries. The ability to use Siri to control apps and in-app features has also been put off by Apple. This would allow Siri to work the same way as generative AI apps such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Currently, on iPhone models running Apple Intelligence , Siri will pass questions that it can't answer over to ChatGPT after asking you first if that is okay. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, AI-enhanced versions of the Calendar app and the Health app will not be mentioned at WWDC this year. Both apps will be pushed back to iOS 27 (still feels weird to say, right?). While there will be smaller changes made for both apps this year, the bulk of the updates will come in 2026 in iOS 27 which has been given the codename of Buttercup (which no doubt makes you think of the 1968 hit "Build Me Up Buttercup" by the Foundations). The nickname for macOS 27, also expected to be released next year, is Honeycrisp.
