Sentencing was scheduled for Wednesday.

'We recognize there are those who fear individuals with celebrity status or a position of prominence can avoid prosecution. Not in Clackamas County. This case demonstrates my office prosecutes criminal acts regardless of the offender's community status,' District Attorney John Wentworth said in a statement.

The charges stemmed from a party Oct. 3, 2021, at the Lake Oswego home owned by his Trail Blazers teammate Robert Covington.

Prosecutors claimed during the trial that the sexual encounter was rape, while McLemore's attorney countered it was consensual sex.

The woman said she was incapacitated after a night of heavy drinking and was unable to give consent. Prosecutors submitted photos of the woman hovering over a toilet and then passed out on a couch, The Oregonian/Oregon Live earlier reported.

She said she woke up at one point during the rape and froze in terror.

'I don't know who this person is,' she testified. 'This is a random person that is doing something like this to me.' The Associated Press generally does not identify victims of sexual assault.

At one point, she said she let her body slide to the floor in an effort to stop the assault. The woman testified McLemore pulled her back onto the couch and continued.

McLemore testified he was also drinking but claimed the sex was consensual. He also said he and the woman did not have a conversation before, during or after the act, after which he immediately left the home.

One of his attorneys, Kris Winemiller, said McLemore left after receiving an angry message from his then-wife, who tracked him and wanted to know why he wasn't in their own Lake Oswego home.

Clackamas County prosecutor Scott Healy said there was no confusion. 'When you look at all the surrounding circumstances and you assess the evidence in this case, I submit to you that the defendant is guilty,' he said during closing arguments Tuesday.

Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon asked to explain comments on 1998 sex assault

Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon is seen in the corridors of the Montreal courthouse during a break in his civil trial on Monday, June 30, 2025. (Christopher Katsarov/The Canadian Press) MONTRÉAL — Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon was asked to explain his public comments from 2011 about a sexual assault as he pursued his testimony in a high-profile civil trial in Montreal. The comments were raised by lawyer Bruce Johnston, who represents nine women suing the disgraced former comedy mogul for nearly $14 million in Superior Court. Rozon had made the comments in an interview he gave to TV personality Josélito Michaud in 2011 about an assault of a woman at a party east of Montreal in the 1990s. Rozon told Michaud in the interview he was paying for that one, but could have paid for many others before that. Rozon testified he was referring to paying for past episodes of drunk driving. He says he did not sexually assault the woman but pleaded guilty under pressure from his family to save the international comedy festival. This report by The Canadian Press was first published July 7, 2025.

Hamilton, Ont. man facing more charges after W5 investigation into alleged sexual assault ring; ex-wife speaks out

Bryan Hayward is seen in this undated image. (Hamilton Police Service) Warning: This story contains graphic details and allegations of sexual assault A Hamilton, Ont. man at the centre of a widescale W5 investigation into an alleged sexual assault ring is now facing dozens of additional charges. Bryan Hayward appeared at a Hamilton courtroom Friday where he was charged with 12 counts of aggravated assault, 13 counts of administer noxious substance, 12 counts of administer overpowering/stupefying drug to overcome resistance, five counts of voyeurism, five counts of distribute intimate images without consent, and one count of assault. The new charges come amid a W5 investigation into a network of thousands of men who allegedly secretly drug their wives and intimate partners and then post the videos online. Hayward's profile was discovered on the platform, where he allegedly uploaded videos of what may be the drugging and raping of least five or six different women. 'Investigators believe Hayward may have connected with victims through online dating and social media platforms,' Hamilton police said in a news release issued Friday after the court appearance. 'Police suspect there may be more victims, including individuals unaware they were affected.' Arrested on May 16 after W5 alerted Hamilton police of his potential crimes, the 36-year-old contractor was previously charged with sexual assault, administer noxious substance, voyeurism, distribution of intimate images, assault with a weapon, and several other offences. The videos, allegedly posted online by Hayward, have since been removed. Hamilton police confirmed that the videos were taken down at their request. 'Hit me like a tidal wave' Hayward's ex-wife, who CTV News previously agreed to identify only as Rachel to protect her identity, is speaking in her own words with her own name for the first time since W5's investigation surfaced. Chelsea Davies previously told W5 that he drugged their then 11-year-old daughter back in 2023. Medical records obtained by W5 showed that a toxicology report from the hospital at the time came back positive for the sedative benzodiazepine. Ten years earlier, when the couple was living together in Calgary, Davies said Hayward drugged and assaulted her. Davies shared a statement with CTV News Toronto on Friday in response to the new charges laid against her ex-husband. 'On July 4th, 2025, I turned 36. And on that very day, police laid more charges against the man who strangled me, lied about me, and tried to rewrite our story,' Davie's statement read. 'I wasn't in court. But the weight of the day hit me like a tidal wave.' 'The timing felt impossible to ignore. On the day I quietly marked another year of surviving him— the truth gained volume,' she continued. 'But it also surfaced a deeper grief. Because we told them. I told them what he did to me. I asked for help when my daughter was drugged in his care. I told them about other victims. I gave names. Timelines. Warnings. And they did nothing.' Part of Davies' statement said she used to dread July 4 — her birthday — because it marked another year of her survival of Hayward with 'no resolution' and another year of 'carrying' her story. 'This birthday is different,' Davies added. 'Because this year, I am not hiding. This year, I'm not protecting his name with my silence. This year — my voice is on the record.' Police still investigating Hamilton police said they laid the charges announced Friday as their investigation progressed, which led to 'uncovering additional evidence and identifying more victims.' 'Anyone who had any interaction or relationship with Bryan Hayward is urged to contact police, as they may have information relevant to the investigation,' police said. Investigators noted that some of the charges may date back to before Nov. 2021, when Hayward's left hand was amputated. None of the charges have been proven in court. Hayward is due back in court next week. With files from W5's Avery Haines and Joseph Loiero

Appeal dismissed for Edmonton man who killed 7-year-old girl

WARNING: This story contains graphic details of violence. An Edmonton man has failed to overturn a murder conviction he received two years ago for stabbing a girl to death with scissors. David Moss was convicted of killing seven-year-old Bella Rose Desrosiers in front of her mother and little sister on May 18, 2020. Moss, in a state of psychosis, stabbed the young girl and dragged her from her bedroom while her mother, Melissa Francis, was tucking her into bed. Moss was found guilty of second-degree murder. Moss had urged the Alberta Court of Appeal to reduce his conviction from murder to the less-severe manslaughter in the death of Desrosiers. Moss argued the trial judge should not have convicted him of murder because he was mentally unwell and not in a state of mind to form the intent to commit such a crime. But appeal judges said when all of the evidence is taken into account, there is not enough to show the judge was wrong to draw a conclusion that Moss knew his actions could cause harm. Second-degree murder comes with an automatic life sentence and a parole ineligibility period of 10 to 25 years. Court heard Moss was a friend of the girl's mother and one night, just as the mother was about to kiss the girl good night, he entered her bedroom with a pair of scissors, pushed the mom aside, and slashed and cut the girl's neck repeatedly. Moss testified that he thought he was in a game as he stabbed the girl and said the voice of a demon told him to harm her.
