Former Ohio State player highlights and moments from the first week of the NFL preseason
We like to take a little peek into some of the NFL action after Saturdays are done during the college football season, and with the preseason already kicking off this past weekend, it seems like a good time to check in to see what former Buckeyes are doing in the NFL as things continue towards the start of the 2025-2026 NFL calendar.
There are plenty of former Ohio State football players littered across NFL rosters, and many are fighting for either a spot or a larger role within their team. At other times, some are well established but still queueing up the highlight machine, even early on as things get rollin.'
Here's a look at some of the best moments and highlights from former Ohio State players doing showing up and showing out during Week 1 of the NFL preseason.
TreVeyon Henderson takes it the distance
Henderson is a big play waiting to happen, and he showed that immediately by taking his first touch 100 yards for a touchdown. You can expect the Patriots to try and get the ball to him a lot this year to take advantage of his game-breaking ability.

Prior to the selfie, which Bowling shared on Sept. 5, his past profile photos on Facebook have not included his wife or her conjoined twin, according to what is shared publicly on his account. In June 2024, the twins posted a TikTok of Abby and Bowling's wedding dance, which was set to an upbeat remix of "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. In the clip, the TLC stars swayed side to side with their arms around Bowling's neck as his hands rested on their waist. Abby and Brittany also posted another TikTok video the same day, with the caption, "We know you think you know us🖤❤️🔥 #sisterhoodgoals #abbyandbrittanyhensel #happy." It included various clips of the two sisters together and featured Justine Skye's track "Collide," as the soundtrack. Jack Suwinski's tiebreaking homer in the 9th lifts Pirates over struggling Cubs 3-2
CHICAGO (AP) — Jack Suwinski hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the ninth inning to give the Pittsburgh Pirates a 3-2 win over the struggling Chicago Cubs on Friday. Suwinski, a Chicago native, hit Daniel Palencia's (1-3) 1-1 fastball the opposite way, into the left-field bleachers for his third homer. The Pirates ended a five-game losing steak and sent the Cubs to their fourth loss in five games. Pete Crow-Armstrong broke out of a 3-for-41 slump by going 3 for 3 with his first RBI since July 30. Crow-Armstrong also was hit by a pitch and scored a run. The Cubs All-Star was thrown out twice on the bases; trying to stretch a single to double in the fourth and was caught stealing in the ninth after leading off with a single. Andrew McCutchen and Isaiah Kiner-Falefa each had an RBI double. The Cubs entered eight games behind surging NL Central-leading Milwaukee. Matt Shaw added a sac fly. Dennis Santana (4-4) got the final four outs for the win. Pirates rookie Braxton Ashcraft allowed one run on three hits in five innings, striking our four and walking none in his third and longest start Cubs start Colin Rea allowed one run on three hits in five innings.
