Sambhal puts 3-tier security for Eid Al-Adha, DM says getting ‘full cooperation'
A three-tier security system was implemented in Sambhal for Eid-al-Adha celebrations on Saturday, with people agreeing to perform sacrifices peacefully only at the traditional places allocated to them, said District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya.
"A three-tier security system has been put in place, which includes Sector Magistrates, General Magistrates, and forces on the ground. Flag marches and patrolling were also done earlier. In our meetings of the peace committee, everyone agreed not to offer sacrifices at public places and to offer sacrifices with complete peace and cooperation only at the traditional places allocated earlier," Pensiya told the media.
He also said that people were cooperating and no problems had occurred during the celebrations so far. He praised the Police and administration for making adequate arrangements.
"We spoke with all the Maulanas, Muftis, Mutawalli, and representatives of mosques, and they all ensured to celebrate Eid Al Adha peacefully. Everyone is cooperating a lot, there is no problem of any kind... There is adequate arrangement from the Police and Administration. Arrangements have also been made for the disposal of the waste. This will continue for three days and till 3 PM each day," he added.
Circle Officer Chanduasi, Anuj Chaudhary, said that namaz was offered inside the Eidgahs in Chandausi and Narauli.
"There are two Eidgahs, one in Chandausi and the other in Narauli, where namaz was offered... At both places, namaz was offered within the four walls... No namaz was offered on the roads," Chaudhary told ANI.
During the early hours, people were seen offering Namaz in Chandausi, Sambhal.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. The day is marked by prayers, charitable acts, and the ritual sacrifice of animals, with a message of sharing and empathy at its core.

The Assam government is looking into the details of 'an old law' that will allow it to 'push back' infiltrators without having to mandatorily approach foreigners tribunals, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Nalbari, Sarma said that a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court, while hearing a case on Section 6A of the Citizenship Act, had said that there is no legal requirement for the Assam government to always approach the judiciary in order to identify foreigners. 'There exists an immigrants expel order, which is an old law. The Supreme Court has said that this law is in force and a deputy commissioner can give permission for immediate pushback under it,' he maintained. 'For whatever reason, our lawyers had not informed us and we too didn't know about it. The entire matter has come to light in the last few days. We will now discuss it further,' he added. The chief minister said pushing back illegal migrants will continue, adding that the process of identifying foreigners, which had been paused due to NRC-related matters, will now be accelerated. 'And when the identification of a foreigner happens, there will be no need to send the case to any tribunal. We will directly push them back. We have been preparing for it,' he added. Sarma said the process of pushback will continue, though no person with a case pending before the court will be sent back. His comments came even as the state witnessed protests over 'harassment' of minorities in the name of detecting illegal immigrants. Members and supporters of the All Assam Minority Students' Union (AAMSU) wore black badges and displayed placards against the purported recent pushback of Bangladeshis in the state. They carried out the protest in different parts, including Chirang and Jogighopa, after Eid namaz.

Manipur govt suspends internet services in 5 districts for five days
The Manipur government has suspended all internet and mobile data services in five districts—Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur—for five days starting 11:45 pm on 7 June. The order also covers VSAT and VPN services. Citing a deteriorating law and order situation, the official notification stated, 'In view of the prevailing law and order situation in the State of Manipur especially in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching & Bishnupur districts… there is apprehension that some anti-social elements might use social media extensively for transmission of images, hate speech and hate video messages inciting the passions of the public which might have serious repercussions for the law and order situation.'
