BET Awards 2025 Full and Final Winners List: Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, Leon Thomas, Blue Ivy Carter win big

Time of India20 hours ago

The 2025 BET Awards held on Monday night, brought on high energy and even higher stakes, as the biggest names in music, film, and sports gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to honour and recognise Black excellence.
Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, this year's ceremony became one of the most competitive and talked-about editions yet.
Leading the pack is
Kendrick Lamar
, who scored a staggering 10 nominations including Album of the Year for GNX, Video of the Year for his powerful track 'Not Like Us,' and additional recognition for his collaborations with SZA on '30 for 30' and Luther. He was followed by Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla, each of whom earned six.
Drake made a strong showing with five nominations, including Video of the Year for 'Family Matters,' a diss track aimed at Kendrick—a reflection of their much-publicised lyrical feud that has dominated headlines and playlists this year.
SZA, a powerhouse in her own right, scored 4 nominations and was a contender in the Best Female Pop/R&B Artist category where she was joined by a list of nominees including Ari Lennox, Arya Starr, Coco Jones, Kehlani, Muni Long, Summer Walker, and Victoria Monét.

Ron Killings chooses legacy over change, declines Metro Boomin's WWE proposal

Image via WWE Veteran WWE Superstar Ron Killings has turned down an offer from popular music producer Metro Boomin to create a new entrance theme, reaffirming his desire to stay connected to his roots as he continues his rebranded journey on Monday Night RAW. Metro Boomin shows love for Ron Killings' comeback The incident unfolded on social media after Metro Boomin, known for producing hits for stars like Future, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage, expressed his admiration for Killings' recent transformation and offered to produce a new WWE entrance song for him. The Grammy-nominated artist tweeted, 'Please let's do the new @RonKillings theme @WWE @TripleH I beg,' tagging both WWE and Chief Content Officer Triple H. Killings, who recently shed his comedic persona 'R-Truth' in favour of his real identity, responded to Metro's heartfelt request with grace and gratitude. 'I appreciate you my dawg!! Huge fan!' Killings posted. 'What's up ain't broken, I wanna keep it. Fans and people know it soon as it hits!!' He concluded with a powerful message: 'R-Truth ain't drivin now… I am.' The 53-year-old made headlines with his emotional return at Money in the Bank, attacking John Cena - a childhood idol, and cutting a passionate promo the following night on RAW. Standing on the commentary table, Killings thanked fans for supporting R-Truth all these years but insisted he's now done with the jokes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo In a symbolic gesture, he cut off his signature hair during the segment, stating, 'R-Truth. The truth has set me free. I am Ron Killings. I am the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Now put some respect on my name.' Killings' decision to stick with his current entrance theme, which begins with the instantly recognisable 'What's Up?' chant - is rooted in nostalgia and brand recognition. Despite undergoing a major character evolution, he's keen on preserving the legacy he built over decades, believing that changing the theme could dilute the emotional connection fans have with his past. While Metro Boomin's offer was widely appreciated, many fans supported Killings' choice, citing his theme's legacy and impact. Some users on X (formerly Twitter) called Metro's interest 'badass,' while others urged him to direct his production talents toward other WWE stars needing an upgrade. Killings, despite a recent loss at Saturday Night's Main Event, continues to gain traction as a serious contender on RAW - a significant shift from his previous comedic role. With his transformation gaining momentum, Ron Killings appears ready to take his rightful place in WWE's upper tier, on his own terms. 'Have so much love to give': Jamie Foxx tears up at BET Awards, thanks daughters for saving him after stroke, coma

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx broke down in tears as he accepted the Ultimate Icon Award at the 2025 BET Awards, paying an emotional tribute to his daughters and sister who stood by him during his serious health scare in 2023. Jamie Foxx, 57, spoke publicly for the first time about his stroke and coma, which kept him out of the public eye for several months. "When I saw that in memoriam, I was like, 'Man, that could've been me'," he said. "But I don't know why I went through what I went through, but I know that my second chance, I'm not going to turn it down." Flanked by his daughters Corinne, 31, and Anelise, 16, in the audience, Foxx's words brought them both to tears. Anelise watched with trembling lips as her father poured out his heart on stage. "My beautiful daughter, Corinne, I cannot say enough about you," he said, visibly emotional. "You've always taken a backseat to everything. But when you needed to drive it, you drove. And you made sure I was here." Foxx continued, "I cannot even begin to express the love that I feel from everybody out there… I have so much love to give… Just give me one more crack at this." The Ultimate Icon Award was also presented to Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin and Snoop Dogg during the ceremony. A fan took to X and wrote, 'Jamie Foxx is one of the most talented entertainers of our generation. Hilarious comedian, incredible actor and gifted musical artist. Listening to him talk about his stroke at the #BETAwards2025 and his realization of how precious life is was BEAUTIFUL.' Another person wrote, 'Seeing Jamie Foxx get so emotional during this tribute is giving me chills. I am so happy for him.' 'It's the fact Jamie Foxx really could have been on the memorial roll BUT GOD,' wrote a third user. Foxx recently returned to work, starring alongside Cameron Diaz in 'Back in Action' and appearing in his comedy special 'What Had Happened Was…'
