Global superstar Priyanka Chopra has clapped back at a food vlogger and other social media users in her inimitable Desi Girl way after the actor was criticised online for choosing international street food over Indian fare.
What's Happening
While promoting her latest film Heads of State, Priyanka Chopra had a Q&A session with an American journalist who asked her to make a choice between some of her favourite street foods.

Asked what she would pick empanadas and samosas, the actor said, "Depends on the mood".
Between enchiladas and chicken tikka masala, Priyanka Chopra gave a safe answer, "Both".
And, given a choice between hot dog and vada pav, the actor said, "I love vada pav, but hot dog is my weakness."
This is something that didn't go down well with a section of social media users, including food vlogger Pushpek Sidhu, popular on Instagram for reviewing how people around the world consume famous dishes from the Indian subcontinent.
He shared his reaction to Priyanka Chopra's food picks on his Instagram Story, writing "Ain't no way".
A few hours later, the actor shared Pushpek Sidhu's post on her Instagram Story with the caption, "Wow Bro! Didn't know there was a syllabus for being desi. It's not that serious. # vadapav vs #hotdog."
Pushpek Sidhu then reshared Priyanka Chopra's response, saying "I eat samosa, I breathe samosa, I sleep samosa. My whole personality is samosa, in fact, my life revolves around samosa. For me, it's very serious @priyankachopra (crying laughing emoji)"
What Others Said About Priyanka Chopra Being Not Desi Enough Anymore
There was a flurry of reactions on social media after the video went viral, with a few slamming the actor for "trying to be white so badly" and that choosing hot dog over vada pav was "blasphemy".
Then there were some who came out in support of Priyanka Chopra.
It's hilarious how these dumbass bitches spiral and call Priyanka 'not desi enough' for choosing a hot dog over vada pav, while she's out here making her white ass husband and in-laws not just sit through, but actually perform full on Hindu pujas and rituals.😵‍💫 pic.twitter.com/8m6x4whzYK

Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor-Starrer Param Sundari Gets New Release Date

Mumbai: The makers of 'Param Sundari' on Wednesday unveiled the motion poster of the upcoming film and announced that the cross cultural romance movie will hit the big screen on August 29. Janhvi, Sidharth and Maddock in a collaborative post on Instagram unveiled the motion poster featuring the two stars. In the poster, Sidharth is seen looking handsome in a shirt paired with jeans along with a bag on his shoulder. The actress looks every inch an Indian beauty as she does a classical dance form dressed in a saree. In the motion poster the two can be seen crossing paths. The motion poster concludes with: 'In cinemas worldwide. 29th August 2025. A Maddock Films Production.' It also mentioned that its first song 'Pardesiya' will be out on Wednesday. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Maddock Films (@maddockfilms) The video is captioned as: 'Dinesh Vijan brings to you the Biggest Love Story of the Year #ParamSundari arrives in cinemas on 29th August And in just 1 hour, feel its soul with the year's most heartfelt song — #Pardesiya.' The film was earlier scheduled to release in July 25, 2025. The film centers on a love story between a North Indian played by Sidharth and a South Indian girl, filmed in Kerala. The film 'promises a heartfelt tale of love, where two worlds collide, and sparks are bound to fly. Set against the breathtaking backwaters of Kerala, this love story is a rollercoaster of laughter, chaos, and unexpected twists you won't see coming,' per a description provided by Maddock, reports 'Its like those films that Mani-sir (Mani Ratnam) used to do like 'Saathiya' (the Hindi-language remake of Tamil drama-romance film 'Alai Payuthey'),' Maddock chief Dinesh Vijan had previously told Variety. 'The kind of music it has and Janhvi playing a South Indian is interesting, Sid's playing a Northern Delhi boy and the conflict is very cool. It's like maybe taking 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' forward – there's a high tech idea in there. But we are going into the 'Kantara' world of sorts – we are going a little more than that.'

Pagal Records, a music store in Delhi's Hauz Khas Village is trying to revive public appreciation in vinyl records

A door full of music-related stickers welcomes wanderers exploring Hauz Khas Village into Pagal Records, an independent record store stocked with vintage vinyls, CDs, and posters. Above the entrance door, a painted sign urges customers to fight for good music. Inside, the store, walls are adorned with shelves packed with cassette tapes for sale. They hold qawwalis and bhajans to Raj Kapoor's hits and more. The crates containing records are interspersed with an array of vintage band and Bollywood posters. A first glance is enough for a music lover to realise the variety the store contains. Pagal Records was started a decade ago by a vinyl collector, Joe Luca Singh, who began selling his personal vinyls to customers in the capital. He later set up the store to expand his business and reintroduce the music format to Delhiites. Now, the store is owned by Abhay Panwar, who calls it a 'culture store' more than just a record store. 'The store renewed interest in vinyl culture in the city,' says Abhay Panwar, who now owns the store. Abhay was a longtime customer of Pagal Records and grew up buying records from Joe. 'I bought the store in December 2024, because I couldn't let it go once Joe decided to give it up,' says Abhay. 'It would feel like something was missing without Pagal Records being here.' The store boasts a vinyl collection of a wide variety of genres, including rock, jazz, electronic, Bollywood, and Indian classical music. From signed copies of Ravi Shankar and Anoushka Shankar's melodies to a rare 'Sticky Fingers' album record signed by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the place highlights the uniqueness of owning vintage records. 'We mostly source first pressings, that is, records pressed decades ago in the 1960s,' says Abhay. Pagal Records often sources from vinyl collectors who are looking to sell old records. Bollywood records are the most easily attainable for the store, while some records are sourced from countries abroad, including Italy and Japan. A large section of their customers are regulars who spend up to ₹10,000 on a vinyl record and also sometimes request the team to source specific records. However, Abhay says Pagal Records team is trying to reduce prices to make records more affordable for their target audience — youths in their 20s looking for a new hobby or music. The cost of their records starts from ₹1,000 and goes up based on the genre and rarity and genre. Abhay cites customers' newfound disinterest in paying for music on online platforms as one reason for the comeback of vinyl culture. 'People are done with just consuming one form of music, and they've realized they can get more out of the money they are spending on it.' This, Abhay says, is why Pagal Records is trying to reduce their prices to make records more affordable for their new target audience — young people in their 20s looking for a new hobby or new music. Previously, their customer base consisted mostly of working professionals and musicians who could afford records. Although Pagal Records wants to foster the new generation of music lovers, they also want customers to discover new genres and artists through vinyl. 'Post-COVID, the number of records being sold in Delhi has multiplied. But we don't want to make the job too easy for people,' Abhay says. To inspire customers to find music themselves, the small team at Pagal Records takes on a 'Do-It-Yourself' approach. They invite customers to dig the crates, spend time listening to the records they select on the in-store turntable, and then make their final pick. At 5 Hauz Khas Village, near Deer Park; Open daily 12pm to 8pm
