LONDON, United Kingdom — U.S. pop megastar Taylor Swift will be honoured with 13 waxworks of her at Madame Tussauds venues around the globe, the museum said on Wednesday.
In honour of Swift's lucky number, 13 of the waxwork museum's 22 branches will each receive a statue of the 'Love Story' and 'Blank Space' singer, in what it called the 'most ambitious project' of its 250-year history.
The statues were inspired by some of the 35-year-old songwriting sensation's looks from her record-shattering 'Eras Tour' from 2023 to 2024.
With 149 shows across the world over nearly two years, the tour raked in US$2 billion, making it the most lucrative in music history to date.
More than 40 artists worked for more than a year on the statues of Swift, one of the most acclaimed artists of her generation with 14 Grammy Awards.
'This is the most ambitious project in Madame Tussauds' 250-year history, which only feels right to reflect the stratospheric status of Taylor Swift,' said Danielle Cullen, the museum's senior figure stylist.
U.K.-based Swifties are well served, with one waxwork slated for London and another for the northern seaside resort town of Blackpool.
Another 10 will find a permanent home at the branches of Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Orlando and Sydney.
The thirteenth statue, which will travel around the remaining museums, will begin its worldwide walkabout with a residency at Madame Tussauds Shanghai.

3 songs from Home County artists to boost your playlist

Social Sharing London Morning's associate producer, Ryan Soulliere, listens to a lot of music for his role, picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. Here are three artists featured on London Morning who will be performing at the Home County Music and Art Festival this Saturday. Sister Ray - Wings Toronto-based Sister Ray takes the Home County stage at 3:30 p.m. London Morning played Wings from Sister Ray's album Believer. Wings is a mellow yet steady track with a particular musical magic to it that makes it easy on the ears and a perfect song for sipping your favourite early morning beverage. The Marrieds - Rita London folk duo The Marrieds perform at 4:30 Saturday afternoon at Home County. The Marrieds' song Rita is upbeat, loaded with great harmonies and has a wonderful harmonica line that really pulls you into the groove. Rita is a great song for any playlist and will certainly add some dance energy to your next party mix. Bedouin Soundclash - Inversion Weather Festival veterans Bedouin Soundclash close out this year's Home County with a set that starts at 9:30 p.m. From Bedouin Soundclash's huge catalogue, London Morning played Inversion Weather. This song has a lot going on in the mix with haunting vibraphones, call-and-answer harmonies and spacey keys all sitting on a bed of acoustic guitars. Inversion Weather will fit on almost any playlist, and it's a great song to play at your next gathering with friends.

‘We're the hub of the city': Covent Garden Market again hosting weekend events

While Island Fest signs were going up on the south end of the Covent Garden Market square, construction work continued on the north end. Island Fest will be the second event hosted on the square since it partially re-opened two weeks ago. Construction closed access to square since last September. During that work, vendors and restaurants were still available inside the market. While many businesses have a dedicated clientele, they also rely heavily on events in the square to draw new customers in. Covent Garden Market General Manager Amy Shackleton stressed that they did their best to keep people coming, 'Just getting the word out that we are open. We're open six days a week and we're here and ready to serve.' Island Fest organizers were happy to see the re-opening of the square. Building on the success of last year's gathering, they expanded their event out onto Talbot Street. London's Covent Garden Market Island Fest organizers put signs in place for the weekend event on July 25, 2025. (Gerry Dewan/CTV News London) There were concerns that weather-related construction delays might push back the market square re-opening, forcing them to another location. 'I will not lie, we've been on our tippy toes a little bit, but we made it. We made an executive decision to stay with the square. This is our home, and this is where we're going to stay,' said Wendy Bhagwandeen, an operations coordinators for the event. Island Fest is a three-day event and starts Friday at 4 p.m. Bhagwandeen understands the sounds of the Caribbean may have to compete with the sounds of the jackhammer early in the event, 'The construction noises will die down as the day progresses.' While events have returned to the square for the weekends, Shackelton told CTV News that access during the week will continue to be limited with work continuing until mid-September. (Gerry Dewan/CTV News London) 'During the week, we do have the square closed just so they can finish up the work that has to be done. But every weekend we've got something booked in to the square, is open,' said Shackelton. Shackelton recognizes the importance of the square to all businesses in the area around the market, 'We play such a big role. We're the hub of the city. You know, people come down here, they look forward to these cultural events. So, we know the importance of being able to showcase the diversity here in London. And it's so important. So that's why we really, really made sure to make this happen, that we can make sure to have the events and activities here.' The Saturday morning Farmer's Market has also returned to the market square. It had been moved to Market Lane, off of Dundas Street. Also returning in the winter will be the Covent Garden Market skating rink. Shackleton said the total cost of the work being done is about $5 million.
