Eamonn Holmes slammed by reality TV star over 'worst interview ever'
The 40-year-old, known for her hit TLC series My Big Fat Fabulous Life, has spent over a decade promoting body positivity and challenging societal standards.
The series, which first aired in 2015 and recently wrapped up its 12th season, showcases Thore's journey as she advocates for self-acceptance while navigating life in the public eye.
In addition to her on-screen work, Thore has collaborated with figures like Tess Holliday and Natalie Hage to fight fat shaming and dismantle harmful stereotypes about body image.
However, early in her career, she encountered a jarring moment that still lingers in her memory.
Reflecting on her 2015 interview with Holmes on Sky News, Thore recalled how the interaction left her feeling judged and dismissed after he openly criticised her lifestyle, suggesting she was setting a bad example and adding, 'Your heart is probably not very good.'
'I haven't done any UK TV shows in about 10 years, but I would gladly go on any and all of them again – except for [any with] Eamonn Holmes,' Thore told the Daily Star.
'He conducted the absolute worst interview of my entire career, but other than that, my experience in the UK has always been so extremely lovely, and I love my time here so much'.
During the controversial interview, Thore addressed Holmes with a pointed observation about societal biases.
'Fat people so often offend others in society,' she said, 'and I find that it's one of the last socially acceptable prejudices.'
The GB News broadcaster responded: 'But what about people concerned about you?
'I mean, there might be people concerned you're gonna keel over and die because maybe your body or your heart won't be able to sustain all the enthusiasm that you have.'
Thore stood her ground, reiterating her point about prejudice. 'I think that concern for health is often a mask to discriminate or be cruel to fat people,' she replied.
'I'd actually like to break some stereotypes about fat people, because at 380 pounds, I'm not naive to the health issues that may come if I stay this weight. But I have no major health problems, and I've never even had high blood pressure.'
However, the broadcaster continued to press the issue, listing potential health risks while she appeared visibly uncomfortable. 'I have to say, I advocate—I am overweight, I'm constantly lampooned for being overweight—but I do speak to you from concern,' he stated.
He added: 'You're doing your ankles no good, your knees no good, your hips no good, your heart probably no good. So I do think there is concern.
Turning to Thore's viral dancing videos, he questioned her motivations. 'But at least you're doing something. Are you doing those moves to reduce your weight, or to say, 'I may be big, but I can still enjoy myself?''
Now Holmes is dealing with his own health challenges, including mobility issues following back surgery. According to reports in the Express, he primarily relies on a wheelchair but can use a walker for short distances.
In January last year, he spoke candidly about living with what he described as an "epidemic of pain" and shared the difficult reality that he may never regain full mobility. Sadly, these health struggles meant he was unable to attend the funeral of his beloved mother, Josie, in November 2023.
At the time, the former This Morning presenter shared: 'It's as if somebody up there is playing with my life.
'In the past year, I've had an operation on my back which went wrong and has confined me to a wheelchair. I've fallen and broken my shoulder. Honestly, you could not make it up.'

Jinger Duggar Reveals ‘Insane' Cost of Stocking Family's Home With Groceries for Jim Bob and Michelle's Enormous Brood
Former "19 Kids and Counting" star Jinger Duggar has described what it was like to be raised in a household alongside 18 siblings, while looking back on the "insane" amount of money her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, had to spend on groceries to feed their entire brood. Jinger, 31, and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, looked back at a very early episode of the family's 2006 TLC special, "16 Children and Moving In," which premiered two years before the family was given a permanent series on the network called "19 Kids and Counting." The special offered one of the first glimpses into the Arkansas-based family's day-to-day lives, examining Jim Bob and Michelle's reasons for welcoming so many children, while also providing unique insight into what it's really like to raise that many kids under one roof. During a recent episode of "The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast," the couple—who wed in 2016 and now share three children of their own—looked back on a scene from the TLC special that documented a family trip to the grocery store. In the scene, Jim Bob and Michelle are seen escorting their children to an Aldi near their home in Springdale, with one of the children noting that "grocery shopping is a major operation" for a family of their size. "Probably today, we will buy like 24 cans of milk, we're going to buy a case of butter which probably will have 48 in a case, and we'll stock up with frozen burritos—as many as they've got," Michelle tells the cameras. "We're going to fill up the freezer and the pantry today." The cameras then cut to all of the children running around the store, with several of them pushing their own shopping carts filled to the brim with food and beverages. Jim Bob then reveals that, in total, the family filled seven shopping carts, noting that the final cost of their grocery trip was $677—just under $100 per cart. Reacting to the clip, Jeremy is left open-mouthed in shock at the amount of food the family bought, before declaring: "Imagine those prices today." "Oh yeah, insane," Jinger responds, before her husband suggests: "That's got to be $2,000." However, while the shopping trip might seem extraordinary to the average family, Jinger acknowledges that it was a regular part of her family's routine when she was growing up, noting: "We would easily blow through that food." While admitting that the grocery haul was hammed up slightly for the cameras, Jinger insisted that the amount of food the family would consume was well beyond that of a more traditional brood. "For this scene, more of us probably went to the store than usual, but typically we could get anywhere from three to four carts of food, so mom would take a couple of us to help," she recalls. As for the checkout process, Jinger says that it was incredibly arduous, noting that they had to form something of an assembly line to get the food onto the belt. "It always took a long time," she said. "And my mom, my sweet mother, would be like, 'It's OK. You can go in front of us. It's OK. You can go in front of us.' Because she knew that it was gonna take a minute." Fortunately, Jim Bob took over when it came to organization of the food once they got back to their enormous compound, with Jinger explaining that he put his past experience of working at a grocery store to ensure that all of their supplies were packed away as efficiently as possible. 'When we would get home, we'd carry in all the groceries and we'd put them on the floor of the pantry,' she said. 'We would not put everything away immediately. "It was like, all the refrigerated stuff and frozen stuff went in the freezer and fridge, but there was always a system for it. So my dad, he loved having it organized like a grocery store.' While the groceries certainly would have taken up their fair share of storage, Jim Bob and Michelle had more than enough space inside their longtime Arkansas compound, which features multiple homes spread across a 97 acre spread of land. The Duggars have expanded their impressive compound on multiple occasions since buying their first plot of land for $300,000 in March 2000, a deal that landed them with 20 acres on which to build a sizable dwelling for their growing brood. Since then, they have added multiple other plots to the property, including a 29-acre parcel that they purchased in 2021 for $160,000. Jim Bob also made a rather substantial real estate investment in April, when it was revealed that he had splashed out $1 million on a luxury new home in nearby Fayetteville, AL, which he is understood to have bought for his daughter-in-law, Anna. The purchase of the home, which was first shared on the Duggar family fan account called "Duggar Family News," took place on April 16, according to property records. James R. Duggar—Jim Bob's given name—was listed as the representative for the buyer. Anna is the wife of Jim Bob and Michelle's oldest child, Josh Duggar, who is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for child pornography. The six-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom abode is just a 16-minute drive from the Duggar family compound in Springdale—where Josh was raised alongside 18 siblings. The property sits on a 10-acre lot and is set back from the nearest main road, ensuring plenty of privacy for its residents, which would undoubtedly be a must-have for Anna, who has avoided the public eye since her husband was sentenced to prison in May 2022. There is also ample room at the home for Anna and Josh's seven children—Mackynzie, 15, Michael, 13, Marcus, 11, Meredith, 9, Mason, 7, Maryella, 5, and Madyson, 3—who are now being raised solely by their mother. However, reports suggest that Jim Bob and his wife, Michelle, have played a major role in their upbringing while their son is behind bars. Meanwhile, Jinger and Jeremy have opted for a slightly smaller dwelling in which to raise their own family, snapping up a stunning Newhall, CA, abode for $1.9 million in August 2024. The couple, who relocated to California in 2019, had previously been renting the home. Before moving to the Santa Clarita community of Newhall, the pair had been based in Los Angeles, where they bought a home for $830,000 in 2022. That property was placed on the market for $900,000 in June 2024, just two months before they bought their rental home. Solve the daily Crossword

1000-lb. Sisters' Tammy Slaton apologizes for drink she can't live without even after dramatic weight loss
1000-lb. Sisters star Tammy Slaton has revealed the one drink she won't be giving up despite her 500-pound weight loss: soda. The 39-year-old reality star shared a video Tuesday on TikTok about her weight loss journey, responding to someone who called her out for drinking soda in a recent post. In the comment, the TikTok user pointed out that soft drinks — which Slaton calls 'sodies' — have a lot of sugar and asked her about her current diet. Slaton responded by apologizing for her decision to drink soda. 'Everybody is different. I'm not supposed to drink the sodies as much, and that was Sprite,' she said. 'Well, sorry! So, you're right. You're right.' However, Slaton, who underwent bariatric surgery in 2022, said that she wasn't cutting soda out of her diet. Instead, she argued that she can have whatever she wants 'in moderation.' 'I drink a lot of water and I drink a lot of sodies, but I'm still three, four years post-op,' she said, referring to her weight-loss surgery. 'So everything I'm doing is not fine, but it's OK because I'm still continuing on my diet. I'm still continuing to lose weight and I'm still hitting goals.' When Slaton and her sister Amy's TLC show, 1000-lb Sisters, aired, they made their love for soda known. In an episode that aired in 2020, a dietician asked the siblings if they drink water during the day. Slaton and her sister both said no in response, noting that they mainly drank soda. Slaton then confessed that she drank about eight to 12 cans of soda a day. However, Slaton revealed in 2023 that she doesn't drink soda nearly as often. In a since-deleted TikTok, as reported by People, she said she only had two cans of soda a day or fewer. Slaton has also been open about her health journey over the years after getting bariatric surgery, which is designed to help people lose weight by altering the digestive system, in 2022. During the April season premiere of 1000-lb Sisters, she revealed that she was 'down 500 pounds.' 'When I was at my heaviest, I was 700-plus pounds. Right now, I'm weighing in at 238,' she said. Following her bariatric surgery, she underwent skin removal surgery, where over 15 pounds of excess skin were removed from her chin, arms, and lower stomach earlier this year. 'I was really nervous for the skin removal surgery because I was really just kind of afraid of how I'm gonna feel looking at myself without the belly there,' she revealed in an interview with People in June about the milestone. 'The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified. I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they're actually cutting the whole belly!'

Katie Holmes And Joshua Jackson's Complete Relationship Timeline
Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have officially reunited. The former Dawson's Creek stars are collaborating on Holmes's upcoming film Happy Hours, which she is set to direct and star in alongside Jackson. Since the pair have been spotted filming scenes around New York City, fans are speculating about a possible romantic rekindling as they previously dated decades ago. But a source recently clarified that they aren't back together. The insider told Entertainment Tonight that Holmes and Jackson are 'just friends.' The source added, 'They have a special bond and love how excited fans are. Rekindling a romantic relationship is not likely.' Ahead, the full history of their relationship. Holmes and Jackson met in the '90s when they co-starred on the hit teen drama, Dawson's Creek. The show ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2003. Their characters, Joey Potter (Holmes) and Pacey Witter (Jackson), engaged in an on-again-off-again relationship throughout the series before finally getting married in the end. And the actors took their romance offscreen. In a 1998 Rolling Stone interview, Holmes, then 19, alluded to her IRL relationship with Jackson, which reportedly had already ended by then. 'I had really good luck this past year, and I had a really wonderful, amazing experience,' she said. The journalist then mentioned that she has it on 'good authority' that her great dating experience was with her Dawson's Creek co-star. 'I'm just going to say that I met somebody last year,' she responded. 'I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always. And that I feel so fortunate because he's now one of my best friends.' She continued, 'He's been in the business so long, and he's really helped me. I respect him as a friend and as a professional.' Jackson appeared on an episode of the Canadian talk show, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight. In the interview, he spoke about a recent phone call he received from Holmes. 'Like any old friend, it was like, "Oh, hi, how are ya? What's going on?," "I had a kid," "Yeah, that's crazy, I heard." It was nice, it was very nice, actually.' At the time, he was in a relationship with the German actress Diane Kruger. In an interview with The Times, Jackson spoke about his former relationship with Holmes. 'We were kids,' he said, 'so it was a full-on stars-moon-sky romance.' He also shared that the Dawson's Creek cast have a WhatsApp group chat. 'It doesn't get a lot of use but every once in a while someone will crop up,' he said. '[In January] we passed the 25th anniversary [of the show] so there was a flurry of texts. It really centers around, "Oh my God, I can't believe that we all went through that thing together." It's obviously such a formative point in all our lives.' Holmes was interviewed for The Times and was asked about the Dawson's Creek WhatsApp group, which she seemingly didn't know anything about. 'All of us text every now and then, but I wasn't aware of the WhatsApp,' she said. 'But you know what? I'm really bad at WhatsApp. I never check it because it's a little too much.' But she did share that she keeps in touch with the cast 'every now and then.' She added, 'Everyone's grown up and is busy, but the bond will forever be there.' Jackson appeared on an episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's podcast, Dinner's on Me. During a conversation about Dawson's Creek, Jackson revealed that he and Holmes were still 'very close.' He said, 'It's not a daily call. Sometimes it's not a weekly, or monthly, or even a half-yearly call, but when you're always that, like, I know you know.' Holmes announced that she and Jackson were going to be working together again on a new film, Happy Hours. 'Working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship,' she wrote. ' HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We can't wait for everyone to see what we make.' Holmes is set to direct, write, and star in Happy Hours with Jackson. According to Deadline, the forthcoming trilogy is 'a story about two people (played by Holmes and Jackson) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life's inevitable obstacles. It's a character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope.' The rest of the cast includes Constance Wu, Mary-Louise Parker, Donald Webber Jr., and John McGinty. Production on the first of the three films is currently underway in New York. The same day as Holmes' Instagram post, she and Jackson were spotted filming Happy Hours in NYC. Holmes and Jackson were photographed running lines. A source shut down offscreen dating rumors, telling Entertainment Tonight, 'Rekindling a romantic relationship is not likely. They are just friends.' The insider added, 'Josh and Katie are excited to be working together again. They have a special bond and love how excited fans are.' They were seen shooting a scene in Washington Square Park. Jackson was pushing a stroller, possibly hinting that their characters will have a baby in Happy Hours. The actors ventured to Brooklyn to film, and Holmes was in director mode.
