
Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge to Close Temporarily for Kuwait Sports Day
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: The Ministry of Interior has announced that, in coordination with the Public Authority for Sports, the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge will be temporarily closed due to Kuwait Sports Day events.
The closure will take effect as follows:
- The bridge towards Subiya will be closed from Friday 21st Feb at 11:00 PM.
- The bridge towards Shuwaikh will be closed from Saturday 22nd at 4:00 AM until the event concludes.
The General Department of Public Relations and Security Media has urged road users to follow the instructions of the General Traffic Department and use alternative routes during this period.

Al-Otaibi dedicated this victory to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait. He praised the shooters' exceptional performances and expressed optimism for further medals as the championship continues through June 10. He also extended his appreciation to the Public Authority for Sports for its consistent support and commended the technical and administrative teams for their efforts in achieving these results.

Yarmouk Club celebrates 60 years of sporting excellence
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: Yarmouk Club's Board of Directors held a commemorative celebration at its headquarters in Mishref, marking the club's 60th anniversary. The event brought together former club presidents, administrators, and stars from the golden generation, along with prominent Kuwaiti sports officials, including the Acting Director of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah. The ceremony honored past presidents and standout players of the "Sons of Mishref," recognizing their invaluable contributions since the club's founding in 1965 on Failaka Island. Bashar Abdullah lauded Yarmouk Club's rich legacy and its vital role in shaping the Kuwaiti sports landscape. 'Six decades of achievement and dedication deserve to be celebrated and passed on with pride to future generations,' he said. He also expressed hope that this initiative would serve as a model for other clubs across Kuwait. Club President Ahmed Al-Jarki warmly welcomed attendees and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who laid the foundations of Yarmouk Club. Kuwait bags 9 medals at Asian Gymnastics championship
AMMAN: Kuwait's gymnastics team pose with their medals in Amman. AMMAN: The artistic gymnastics team for youth, juniors and girls made a new achievement, after winning 9 medals, 6 gold, silver and two bronze, on the second day of the West Asian Gymnastics Championship which held in the Jordanian capital (Amman) from May 14 to 18. The youth team player Abdullah Behbehani won the gold medal in the general individual competition, and Saud Al-Rudaini added a second gold in the junior category, while Mousa Al-Sahaf won the silver medal in the same category and in the team competition, the youth and junior teams succeeded in enhancing Kuwait's balance, by scoring two gold medals and winning first place in each category. On the girls' level, the Kuwaiti team won 4 medals, two gold and two bronze, as the first gold came through Sarah Al-Qattan in the 'HP3' stage floor movements competition, while Nawal Al-Zamil won the second gold in the 'HP2' stage jumping table competition, Fatima Al-Nama won the bronze medal in the general individual competition for the youth category and Shaha Al-Mulla bagged bronze in the floor movements competition. For his part, Chairman of Kuwait Gymnastics Federation, Fahad Al-Soula, praised the outstanding results achieved by the team's heroes and heroines in the championship, despite the strong competition from all participating teams, hoping that the medal tally will double in the coming days. He appreciated the support provided by the Public Authority for Sports and the Olympic Committee to the Federation, and their keenness to facilitate the tasks of the national teams, thanking the parents of the players for their cooperation with the Federation, and their support for their children to represent Kuwait in the best way in international forums.
