Ram returns to the Big Game, reveals the 60-second film starring actor Glen Powell
Sixty-second film directed by David Leitch ("Deadpool 2," "John Wick," "Bullet Train")
With Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, flame-spewing volcanoes and, yes, bears and a spoonful of porridge, Powell puts a humorous and rugged twist on the classic children's bedtime story, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"
Out with the porridge, and in with the trucks, the campaign features the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, the new heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel and the Ram 1500 RHO
The one-minute film, "Drive Your Own Story," shines a spotlight on freedom, power of choice for truck buyers, from gas-powered to battery-powered to heavy-duty options
Glen Powell is no stranger to the Ram brand; he helped kick off the new generation of Ram trucks in "The Calling" advertising campaign in April 2024, and Universal Films and Ram's co-branded advertising campaign for last summer's blockbuster film "Twisters"
As part of the campaign, Ram to offer consumers branded merchandise that pays homage to the Super Bowl commercial at RamTrucks.com, including stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and a dragon-wing hot sauce
An extended 90-second version of the film can be viewed on Ram brand's YouTube channel

The spot is soundtracked to Van Halen's classic "Panama"
Ram brand revealed its Big Game commercial today, featuring actor Glen Powell ("Twisters," "Hit Man," "Top Gun: Maverick") in a truck-twisted version of the children's fairy tale, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." In "Uncle Glen's" version of the classic story, he tells a high-octane adaptation to his real-life twin niece and nephew that includes Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, jumping across active volcanoes and, in the end, does include actual (CGI) bears! The 60-second commercial, "Drive Your Own Story," can be viewed now across the Ram brand's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Stellantis is the only automaker with commercials in the Big Game this year, with both Ram and Jeep® brands making appearances.
"The wealth of Stellantis is the ability of our wide array of iconic brands to address any customer needs in their different life stages," said Olivier Francois. "So much so, we are a bit like Goldilocks. Our commercial acts as a metaphor through a classic fable that is deeply rooted in American culture, with our Ram trucks partner Glen Powell serving as our Goldilocks trying out our Ram 1500, Ram 2500 heavy duty and the new Ramcharger 1500. With options that include fully electric, hybrid or gas, we've set the table for our customers to choose what is 'just right' for them.
"Our participation as the only automaker in the biggest American television event makes perfect sense for us. 2025 will see our brand portfolios grow and stand out against the competition."
"I spent most of the 'Twisters' shoot in a Ram truck and it just felt right," says Powell. "Being part of this Super Bowl spot feels like a natural continuation of my connection to a brand that has already brought me so much joy behind the wheel. And to top it all off, one of my favorite filmmakers, the legendary David Leitch, brought his signature style to create something truly fun and action-packed. As if that wasn't enough, I had the chance to play Uncle Glen alongside my real-life niece and nephew, Gwen and Witt, a role that hit close to home in the best way. In my family, the Super Bowl is more than just football, it's about coming together and, yes, judging the commercials. Having my family in my first Super Bowl ad felt like the perfect way to bring everything full circle."
"Hauling a barbequed dragon and jumping volcanoes definitely falls out of the common duty cycle for a Ram pickup, but that doesn't make it impossible," said Tim Kuniskis, Ram Brand CEO. "The choice between the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a combination of electric and ICE that will open up for orders soon, the Ram 2500 Rebel heavy duty and the Ram 1500 RHO may not come easy, but we always want to offer our truck-buyers options. Whether it's gasoline powered or electric powered, or perhaps a combination of both, Ram truck buyers, like Glen, are given the power of choice, allowing them to be the hero of their own story."
"We wanted to take a classic tale and give it a bold, unexpected twist—just like the Ram brand does with every truck it builds," said Director David Leitch. "Glen Powell brings the perfect mix of charm, toughness and humor to our modern-day Goldilocks story, proving that the right truck isn't too big or too small—it's just right. This spot is all about adventure, capability and finding the perfect fit, with a little cinematic magic thrown in for good measure."
Instead of Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear with porridge options, the Ram version of the children's bedtime story (soundtracked to Van Halen's classic "Panama") features Powell having the power to choose from, one, the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, two, the new heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel and, three, the new Ram 1500 RHO to take on his own adventures. Depending on his needs, he picks the one best suited for his story.
With the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, Powell flexes his artistic muscles and shows off his chainsaw carving skills, then he goes into full superhero mode to slay a fire-breathing dragon, which he then proceeds to eat after towing it behind him in a dragon-size smoker with the heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel, and he jumps volcanoes in the Ram 1500 RHO. He is ultimately snapped back to reality as "Uncle Glen" during his reading of the bedtime story by his twin niece and nephew (the children of Powell's real-life sister).
The one-minute film was directed by blockbuster filmmaker David Leitch (Minted Content), known for global action hits, such as "Deadpool 2," "John Wick," and "Bullet Train." An extended 90-second version of the film can be seen on the Ram brand's YouTube channel.
Ram is also offering branded merchandise tied to the Big Game commercial to consumers, including plush/stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and even a dragon-wing hot sauce, all of which are available beginning February 6 at RamTrucks.com.
The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be available for orders in the second quarter of this year.
"Drive Your Own Story" was created by the Ram brand, in partnership with GSD&M and produced by Minted Content.
Powell's connection to the Ram brand goes beyond his debut in Ram brand campaigns, "The Calling" and "The Convoy," but extended onto the silver screen as his character was seen navigating treacherous storms and relying on Ram trucks in last summer's Universal Films and the Ram brand co-branded "Twisters" advertising campaign.

Factbox-Los Angeles, progressive beacon at center of anti-Trump backlash
By Costas Pitas LOS ANGELES (Reuters) -Protests in Los Angeles against raids on suspected undocumented immigrants have turned into the strongest domestic backlash against President Donald Trump since he took office in January. Here is how the Democratic-leaning city and state of California vary from Trump's Republicans and his support in the U.S. heartland. PARTY POLITICS Nationwide, Trump won around 2.5 million more votes than his Democratic rival Kamala Harris in the November presidential election but in Los Angeles, Harris won by a margin of roughly two to one. Of the 50 U.S. states, California backed Harris by the fifth largest margin. California is also home to several top-level Democrats, including Harris herself, and long-time former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. Governor Gavin Newsom is a Democrat, as is the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass. Both have complained about Trump's tactics this week. The party raises millions in the state from wealthy donors and grassroots supporters, sometimes in a single day. DEMOGRAPHICS At 27.3%, California has the highest foreign-born population of any U.S. state, compared to 13.9% of the total U.S. population, according to a 2024 Census report. Nearly half of Angelenos are Hispanic or Latino and some 35% of the city's total population is foreign-born, according to the American Community Survey, with many cultural and business ties to Mexico, which is only about a two-hour drive south. ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS Faced with persistently bad air quality, especially in cities with strong driving cultures such as Los Angeles, California has developed some of the strictest environmental regulations in the country, opposed by many Republicans. A landmark plan to end the sale of gasoline-only vehicles by 2035 in California is in the crosshairs of a battle between its Democratic leadership and the Republican-run federal government, also because many other states replicate California's first-in-the-nation action. In May, the Republican-run Senate in Washington voted to ban the plan and it is now awaiting Trump's signature. He is expected to sign it this week, according to industry officials. HOLLYWOOD American movies and television are one of the most visible U.S. exports, emanating from an LA-based industry that had been hailed by liberals for boosting diversity but criticized by some conservatives for creating films that include LGBT stories. In May, Trump suggested a tariff on movies produced in foreign countries to protect a domestic industry that he said was "dying a very fast death." But when China retaliated by saying it would curb American film imports, he prompted laughter at a cabinet meeting by a response that signaled his derision for Hollywood: "I think I've heard of worse things."

How China wins in the new propaganda war
American influencers are flooding China to show off its technology and culture — while the US has expelled the world's most-followed TikToker. A new Chinese initiative will pay for US influencers to visit and collaborate with local counterparts, according to Chinese state media, which said the program would boost cultural exchange. It's an investment in soft power and a propaganda coup: State outlets praised recent visits from Western influencers like IShowSpeed (whose six-hour YouTube video on his Shenzhen visit has nearly 9 million views) for showcasing 'authentic' life in China, Bloomberg wrote. The US' immigration crackdown, meanwhile, is pushing out influencers. The Italian citizen Khaby Lame, the world's most popular TikToker, was recently detained by US authorities and left the country after being reported by a rival influencer who is friends with President Donald Trump's son Barron.

The Original Ice Cream Truck Frozen Treat That Paved The Way For Choco Tacos And Bomb Pops
If your childhood summers were filled with frozen desserts and ice cream novelties, then chances are you can still search your memories to hear the ding of your neighborhood ice cream truck. Much more than a mere indulgence dessert, the ice cream truck was synonymous with summertime fun. Though these mobile purveyors of delightful desserts aren't as prevalent as they once were, and, sadly, now the beloved Choco Taco has been discontinued, it's worth taking a look back at the brand behind this frozen paradise on wheels. Going back over a hundred years ago, the very first ice cream truck took to the streets thanks to Youngstown, Ohio's very own Harry Burt, confectioner extraordinaire and creator of the original Good Humor bar. A confectioner and ice cream delivery man, Burt's invention of a chocolate-covered ice cream bar on a stick revolutionized the sale of frozen treats by combining the convenience of a lollipop stick with the amusement of a mess-free ice cream bar protected beneath a chocolate shell. Dressed in a white uniform reminiscent of a "chauffeur," Good Humor truck drivers sold these new ice cream bars right out of their refrigerated trucks. This new business model and tasty treat gained popularity as a local novelty and eventually went on to become an icon of American culture. Read more: 13 Popular Vanilla Ice Cream Brands Ranked By Ingredient Quality A fleet of one dozen Good Humor bar ice cream trucks had already been selling this new frozen fare for several years before Burt was finally granted an official patent in 1923. He attempted to open up a Good Humor plant in Chicago, but, after refusing to pay protection money to a local organized crime group, a portion of his fleet was destroyed. By 1936, training was put in place for Good Humor truck drivers to learn the finer points of frozen novelty delivery, and in 1950, a feature film called "The Good Humor Man," which starred Jack Carson, graced the silver screen. By 1960, Good Humor's product line had expanded beyond its signature ice cream bars to a staggering 85 different ice cream products. It was between the 1950s and '60s that ice cream trucks were at the height of popularity. As a sign of the times, in 1978, Good Humor sold its fleet of ice cream trucks and pivoted to maintaining its presence in grocery stores. By 1989, Unilever had purchased Good Humor along with Gold Bond Ice Cream, and later, Breyer's Ice Cream in 1993. While the fan-favorite trucks are more a relic of the past, the memories of these delicious treats can be relived in store-bought form from your local frozen section. Without the pioneering efforts of Harry Burt and his Good Humor bars, the celebrated ice cream trucks and all the best ice cream brands might never have existed as we know them today.
