Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. According to renowned journalist David Ornstein, the two clubs have been in discussions for some time, but negotiations have now entered an advanced stage.
The 20-year-old Argentine, who has quickly become a fan favourite at Old Trafford for his flair, pace, and big-game performances, is said to be open to the move and expects to complete a switch to Stamford Bridge if terms are agreed. This development could send shockwaves across the Premier League, given Garnacho's rapid rise and his importance to Amorim's squad.
Chelsea's aggressive approach in the transfer market has been a defining feature under their new ownership, and securing Garnacho would be yet another statement of intent. The Blues are believed to be keen on adding more youthful attacking firepower, and Garnacho's profile fits their long-term project perfectly.
For Manchester United, the potential departure of one of their brightest young stars could be a bitter pill to swallow, especially considering his growing influence in recent matches.

Liverpool's Slot hints at fresh Isak bid despite 'attacking power'

Liverpool manager Arne Slot refused to rule out an improved bid for Newcastle's Alexander Isak as the Premier League champions consider adding to their formidable firepower, with Darwin Nunez set to leave for Saudi Arabia. After a quiet first year in the transfer market under Slot the Reds have spent almost £300 million ($402 million) on forwards Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike as well as full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong. Nunez is one of a number of significant exits that will help recoup much of that outlay as the Uruguayan closes in on a £46 million move to Al Hilal. Liverpool reportedly had a £110 million bid for Isak turned down by Newcastle, who are seeking a British transfer record fee. The Swedish striker has not been part of the Magpies' pre-season preparations and has been told to train on his own by Newcastle. "You never talk about players that are not yours," Slot said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's Community Shield against Crystal Palace at Wembley, the traditional curtain-raiser for the season. "I think we have a lot of attacking power in our team. When I think about Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike, Mo Salah, Jeremie Frimpong, who can play as a right-winger, Florian Wirtz, who can play as a left-winger, -- I already feel I have a lot of attacking options in my current squad. "But, as always as a club, we are always looking at the chances in the market." Liverpool celebrated a record-equalling 20th English top-flight title but were devastated last month by the death of forward Diogo Jota. The Portuguese international was killed in a car accident alongside his brother in northern Spain as he began to make his way back to England for pre-season. A series of tributes have been paid to Jota at every Liverpool game since and will continue throughout the season. A "Forever 20" emblem, referencing Jota's now-retired shirt number, will be printed on Liverpool's shirts this season, while a permanent memorial will be installed at Anfield. "First of all, tragedy impacted us but it impacted far more his wife, children and parents," said Slot. "But it impacted us as well, definitely. The tributes that have been done since were all very emotional and impressive, every time we were somewhere. "It started off in Preston and in Asia as well. It's been emotional, but impressive as well." kca/jw/ea

Emre Can urges old club Juventus to sign Manchester United outcast Sancho

Former Juventus midfielder Emre Can has urged his old club to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho who would 'help get the Bianconeri back to winning ways' amid speculation linking the Englishman with a move to Serie A. Can now plays for Borussia Dortmund, who are set to play Juventus in a pre-season friendly in Germany on Sunday. Speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the match, however, the midfielder confirmed that he will not play in the match: 'Unfortunately I won't be playing on Sunday but I will be at the stadium and will take the opportunity to catch up with many old friends.' Summer, Bundesliga or Champions League, good times or bad: our yellow wall always gives you chills and it will be the same on Sunday – it is a unique atmosphere.' 'Yildiz is special, Sancho would help Juventus' – Can Can's former Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho has been linked strongly with a move to the Bianconeri this summer and the German urged the Old Lady to sign the English winger: 'He is a combination of technique and speed, he'd help get the Bianconeri back to winning ways.' When asked if Yildiz would have made the squad back when he played for Juventus, Can said 'Our Juventus was full of champions and outstanding players but Kenan is talented and would have been a part of it. Yildiz is special, he has fantastic shots and it is no coincidence he wears the number ten, a number with significant impact on Juventus' history. 'Kenan has different characteristics to Dybala but, for Tudor's team, he is what Paulo was for us. Juventus also have other valuable players but I have a soft spot for Khephren Thuram – a dynamic and physical midfielder, the kind I like.'

Monaco keeping tabs on Liverpool attacking midfielder Ben Doak

AS Monaco are keeping a close watch on a promising Liverpool FC youngster as we inch closer to the start of the new campaign, according to a report from . Ben Doak (19) spent last season in the Championship on loan at Middlesbrough, scoring three goals, while being named the Young Player of the Month last November with five assists. The Celtic academy product moved to Liverpool in March 2022 but has only made three appearances for them in the Premier League. He's attracted plenty of interest from other clubs with Monaco, West Ham United, Leeds United and Italian side Bologna among them. Doak's contract with the Reds expires in June 2026. This interest from Les Monégasques comes following the news that one of their young attacking midfielders may be on his way out. Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly looking to finalise a deal for Maghnes Akliouche (23) for around €50m. At 19, Doak has collected six senior caps for the Scottish national team and was on the provisional squad for Euro 2024, but was forced to withdraw because of an injury. He made his international debut for the Scots last September, coming on as a substitute in their 3-2 defeat against Poland. Monaco begin their Ligue 1 campaign on Saturday, August 16, when they welcome Le Havre AC to the Stade Louis II. The summer transfer window officially closes on September 1. GFFN | Joel Lefevre
