16 And Pregnant star arrested on accusations of supplying illicit drug that caused a fatal overdose

Daily Mail6 days ago
16 And Pregnant star Whitney Purvis has reportedly been arrested for felony involuntary manslaughter involving a fatal overdose.
According to online records, obtained by TMZ, the former reality star, 33, was brought into police custody in Floyd County, Georgia, on Monday.
She is being accused of 'intentionally distributing' a drug called Tranq, which is a mixture of xylazine and fentanyl.
The victim is a 37-year-old man named John Mark Harris, who was most recently employed as a chef at Barnsley Gardens.
FOX 5 Atlanta reported that police officers found Harris dead from an overdose after arriving at his home in Rome on February 17.
At the scene, cops described 'seeing possible drug paraphernalia'. The outlet claims a 'warrant for Purvis's arrest accuses her of supplying Harris with' Tranq.
Harris's obituary described him as a graduate of Darlington School and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity during his time at Hampden-Sydney College.
It read: 'John Mark never met a stranger and had a way of caring for those who crossed his path. Whether it was bandaging a wound, trips to the airport, or a place to lay their heads for a time, he was willing to lend a hand. He loved fiercely and would do anything he could for one of his friends. John.'
His loved ones also described him as giving the 'best hugs' and having the 'most infectious smile'.
Under the post, Purvis left a heartfelt message and an apology for missing his funeral.
She wrote: 'John Mark, I hate that I found out what happened today and missed your funeral. I wish I could've found out sooner and attended your celebration of life.
'You've came to my rescue on many occasions and saved me over the years. We bonded over being chefs, our love of cooking and our struggles.
'I could tell you anything and you always knew what to say or give me your honest opinion and advice.'
Purvis went on to state she was thankful for the time they had together, before admitting she was having difficulty processing the loss.
She added: 'I don't want it to be true. I'll miss waking up to your silly messages and pictures you'd send me.
'I'll miss your amazing cooking. I'll miss snuggling on the couch watching TV with you.
'Most of all, I'll miss you, a truly good hearted & one of a kind man, John Mark. I'll never forget you. Rest in peace and my condolences to your family and friends.
'I pray they are able to find some kind of comfort during this tragic time. I love you forever, John Mark. Love, Whitney.'
This is not her first brush with the law. Purvis has been previously arrested for shoplifting and contempt of court related to child support payments.
Her arrest comes just one month after she announced the tragic passing of her son Weston Jr, who was just 16.
She wrote on Facebook: 'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand.'
The boy's stepmother Amy Gosa shared on Facebook that day that 'we got up this morning around 7am and tried to wake him up, he was not breathing'.
She noted he 'had several health issues as well as diabetes'.

Portrait of a grief-stricken teenager - but now she's charged with killing her parents

A high school student who publicly grieved over the death of her parents is now charged in their brutal slayings. Sarah Grace Patrick appeared to be a 17-year-old shattered by tragedy after her mother Kristin, 41, and stepfather James Brock, 47, were found fatally shot in their Georgia home in February. But her tearful selfies and grief-stricken tributes rang hollow last week as she was charged with their murders. Police say Kristin and Brock were both shot dead as they slept in their home in Carrollton, 45 miles west of Atlanta, on February 20. Sarah Grace Patrick, who was 16 at the time, was inside the house during the killings and called 911 after her then-five-year-old half-sister Jaley discovered the lifeless bodies. There were no immediate suspects or leads, and the couple's death at first seemed like a mysterious tragedy that had left two young girls without a family. For months, Patrick played the grieving daughter who was coping with an unimaginable loss, delivering a tearful eulogy at the funeral and sharing heartbreaking TikTok videos about her slain parents. One TikTok from March shows a slideshow of images of her mother and stepfather, set to emotional music and accompanied by the text: 'They don't know it, but a year from now me and my 5-year-old sister would find them wrongfully shot dead in our home – and they won't get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the aisle, or even say goodbye.' In the caption, she wrote: 'I miss you guys, save a seat for me in heaven.' She continued to share numerous videos about her grief, employing various trending TikTok formats for emotional effect. In one, she appears distraught with mascara streaked down her cheeks. The overlay reads: 'Life's hard but at least I have my mom.' The video later cuts to a final slide showing two urns and a framed photograph of Kristin and James Brock, with text overlay: 'Mom?' Patrick also portrayed herself as heartbroken over her little sister's trauma from finding her parents' bullet-riddled bodies. In one post, she wrote: 'I can't help but hate myself because I didn't wake up to find them before my 5yo sister had to find her parents like that'. Another read: 'It hits me when I see my 5-year-old sister screaming for her mommy and daddy.' Several of her videos took the form of emotional tributes praising her mother. 'I don't know if she ever realized… that the person I most wanted to be was her,' she wrote in one post with additional slides describing her mom as 'so kind and so loving.' But perhaps most unsettling are the posts containing selfies of Patrick appearing distraught and in tears over her mom's death. She shared a photo clutching her mother's clothes, seemingly crying into them, with the text: 'Her T-shirt [heart emoji].' She shared one selfie of her sobbing in bed captioned: 'I just want my momma,' and another of herself in anguish, reading: 'wdym [what do you mean] I can't call my mom?' In one haunting image, she appears to be choking back tears en route to the funeral, writing: 'This can't be real. Otw (on the way) to my parents' funeral.' Since Patrick's arrest, true crime communities on social media have erupted, dissecting her content and questioning what could have possibly driven an angel-faced teen to allegedly murder her parents. The story took an even stranger turn when a popular true crime content creator who posts under @Allegedly Reportedly and has over 120,000 followers, revealed that Patrick had reached out to her weeks before her arrest, asking for help getting coverage of the case. The TikTokker shared screenshots of their exchange which showed Patrick had sent her a private message on the platform on June 3, telling her to 'search up Brock case.' 'They're my parents, and out of nowhere a random Thursday night in Feb someone came into my house with me and my 5-year-old sister and shot my parents brutally - leaving them for me and my little sister to wake up to,' Patrick wrote. 'I am in absolute shock right now,' the TikTokker wrote in a caption of the video on Wednesday. 'An arrest has been made in the case of James and Kristin Brock, whose lives were taken in February – the person arrested is their daughter, who previously asked me to cover their case?!' In addition to posting videos of her grief online, Patrick apparently also worked behind the scenes to spread her story, issuing statements on her father's Facebook account and asking friends to share details of the incident on her behalf. Last month, weeks before Patrick's arrest, family friend Kellie Brown took to TikTok to share that the teen reached out to her on June 22 asking her to share information about what happened that night with the public. 'Sarah has confirmed that she was awake the night of the incident and 'heard nothing out of the normal'. Those are her words,' Brown said in a June 24 video. She added that Patrick said she had only heard her the alarm from her stepfather's heart machine - which would've been triggered by his death – 'going off throughout the night.' Patrick's original account has since been deactivated, but the disturbing videos have resurfaced and gone viral after social media sleuths re-uploaded her content following the shocking news. The videos are now flooded with comments questioning whether her posts were a manifestation of guilt or a calculated attempt to win sympathy. 'I wonder if she actually started to regret it or if it was all just a cover up,' one user wrote.' 'She wanted attention and sympathy for it!!!' another speculated. Patrick is being charged as an adult on two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault after turning herself in to police on Tuesday accompanied by her father Doniel Patrick. Authorities have not yet revealed a motive for the killings and say the investigation is ongoing and further arrests could be made. Investigators from Carroll County Sheriff's Office have cited 'mountains of digital and physical evidence' that led to her arrest – including Patrick's emotional eulogy. Video of her tribute at her mom and stepfather's funeral service was published by after relatives of the victims shared the footage in disgust after her arrest. Patrick, dressed in a pale blue minidress, can be seen taking to the lectern during the March 8 afternoon service at the Catalyst church in Carrollton, where the Brocks were active members. She paid glowing tributes to her mother and stepfather, thanking Brock 'for all the life lessons you taught me,' and praising her mom as a 'beautiful kind soul with so much gratitude.' She thanked her family, including her grandparents, a long list of siblings, and others for 'helping me get through my worst nightmare' and 'making such a big difference.' Concluding her eulogy, she said: 'Jamey and all would thank you too. I love you guys and so did they, I'm sorry.' During a press conference about her arrest this week, Carroll County communications director Ashley Hulsey confirmed her tribute at the funeral was a key piece of evidence. Speaking to News Nation, Hulsey admitted the eulogy 'seemed odd' and noted that Patrick had ended her speech saying 'I'm sorry.' 'Was that, "I'm sorry because I may have done this" or is it, "I'm sorry because I was upset during this eulogy"? 'We may never know the answer to that, but that did stand out to me at the time,' she said. Hulsey also confirmed investigators are aware of the teen's social media posts. Sharing footage of the funeral remarks, James Brock's niece Krysten Dowda told that she immediately became suspicious of Patrick 'after the shock wore off,' adding: 'The pieces just weren't making sense.' 'After their funeral, when I saw someone had recorded this, I immediately saved it because I knew one day everyone would get to see this for what it was,' she said. 'The feeling of being at a funeral to say goodbye to someone you loved and thinking to yourself: am I actually witnessing the person that murdered them, standing up here in front of everyone and fake crying about them? 'Does anyone else see this person doing a crying voice but never shed a single tear?'

Teen, 17, who died on Italian beach after being buried alive when sand tunnel collapsed pictured

A TEENAGER who tragically died on a beach after being buried alive in a hole in the sand has been pictured. Riccardo Boni, 17, choked to death when a sand tunnel he built collapsed on him on a beach in north-west Italy. 4 4 Riccardo was on holiday with his family from Rome when he dug the one and a half meter deep hole at the Montalto di Castro beach. Emergency services were called to reports of the lifeless teenager who was visually impaired. His five-year-old brother reportedly raised the alarm, screaming to his mum: "Riccardo is under the sand." A swimmer who was nearby at the time of the incident told local news: "He had built a tunnel. He wanted to enter from one side and exit from the other. "But as he passed through, when he reached the centre, everything collapsed and the hole was completely covered. "You couldn't see anything anymore; you could have walked right through it and not noticed a thing." Another local added that there were no screams or sounds as the boy was buried "in a matter of moments". He said: "When the sand closes in on you, it's incredibly heavy. "It doesn't even let a little oxygen in, and it's not easy to extract people because it tends to collapse. A few minutes later, they die of suffocation." Police and an air ambulance were called to help pull the boy from the sand, but despite paramedics' best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Toy-Loving boy crawls into claw machine Montalto Mayor Emanuela Socciarelli told ANSA: "A tragedy that has left us all shocked. "It's unthinkable that a young man could lose his life in this way. "I want to offer my sincere condolences to this family, to whom we are all truly deeply connected." All public events have been suspended today to "join in silent embrace with the family". Local authorities said: "Deepest condolences for the tragic passing of the young man. In such a time of great grief, we extend our deepest sympathies to the boy's parents and family, affected by this terrible tragedy. "As a sign of respect, all public events scheduled for Friday, July 11, are suspended. The community of Montalto joins in silent embrace with the family." 4

Kash Patel denies rumors he's quitting the FBI over DoJ ruling on Epstein files

FBI director Kash Patel has denied swirling resignation rumors over reported unhappiness at a justice department decision to close the book on Jeffrey Epstein after administration officials teased a big reveal earlier in the year. In a Saturday social media post, the agency director said: 'the conspiracy theories just aren't true, never have been. It's an honor to serve the President of the United States – and I'll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me.' Over the past week, Maga hardliners, including Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, former White House adviser Steve Bannon and – reportedly – FBI deputy director Dan Bongino, have been strongly critical of a joint decision by US attorney general Pam Bondi and the FBI to not release further information about Epstein held in government files, including a so-called client list. Critics have slammed the FBI-justice department conclusion about Epstein's official autopsy that the disgraced financier had hung himself in his cell. Many have refused to accept that, repeating a conspiracy theory that Epstein, who died in August 2019 while awaiting trial, was in fact murdered to silence him. 'This systematic review revealed no incriminating 'client list',' the memo stated. 'There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.' Rumors of a rift between the FBI and the justice department over the memo have been denied by deputy attorney general Todd Blanche, who wrote on social media that there is 'no daylight' between the FBI and the Department of Justice leadership on the issue. 'I worked closely with [Kash and Bongino] on the joint FBI and DOJ memo regarding the Epstein Files. All of us signed off on the contents of the memo and the conclusions stated in the memo. The suggestion by anyone that there was any daylight between the FBI and DOJ leadership on this memo's composition and release is patently false,' Blanche said. But on Friday, NBC News reported that Bongino is considering stepping down from his post at the FBI after a 'heated confrontation' with Bondi over the issue. 'Bongino is out-of-control furious,' the person who has spoken with the deputy FBI director said. 'This destroyed his career. He's threatening to quit and torch Pam unless she's fired.' Donald Trump has also grown testy with repeated questions about Epstein, who was once a neighbor in Palm Beach. He erupted on Tuesday when he was pressed on an apparent one-minute gap in a 10-hour video recorded outside of Epstein's cell. 'Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?' he said. 'This guy's been talked about for years … Are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable.' Bondi has since explained that the missing minute of surveillance film was simply the recording equipment resetting itself, as it does every night. Still, it is not clear that Maga hardliners are willing to let the Epstein conspiracy theories go – they have provided a constant stream of material that supposedly supports their theories of a deep state. But no evidence has emerged that Epstein was engaged in a conspiracy to blackmail high-profile visitors, including Britain's Prince Andrew, to his homes in New York, Florida, New Mexico and the US Virgin Islands. The FBI-DoJ memo stated that it had uncovered 'a significant amount of material', including more than 300GB of data and physical evidence that included 'a large volume of images of Epstein, images and videos of victims who are either minors or appear to be minors, and over ten thousand downloaded videos and images of illegal child sex abuse material and other pornography'. 'Through this review, we found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child pornography,' the memo said.
