WNBA's Sun sale meddling sends the wrong message
The league — with the apparent guidance of its NBA puppet masters — seeks to manipulate the market by trying to dictate to whom the Mohegan Tribe sells the Sun.
Based on the latest twist of this story Tuesday, it seems like the WNBA is handing a bad deal to Sun ownership.

The Mohegan Tribe stepped up when others — ahem, NBA owners — didn't. The tribe became the league's first non-NBA ownership group when it bought the Orlando Miracle in 2003 and relocated the team to Uncasville, Conn. In the two-plus decades since, the Sun have become a part of the New England sports landscape.

Former Boston Celtics forward explains decision to return to NBA
Guerschon Yabusele joined the Boston Celtics as the 16th overall pick in 2016. He spent two seasons with the franchise, totalling 74 regular-season games, where he averaged 6.6 minutes per outing. Yabusele had likely made the jump to the NBA too soon, as a result, found himself heading back to Europe ahead of the 2019-20 season. During Yabusele's time away from the NBA, he became a key part of Real Madrid's roster, improving every facet of his game to prove himself as one of the best players the EuroLeague had to offer. Yabusele's improvements were on full display throughout the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he shone for the French National Team. As a result, Yabusele got his second chance in the NBA, earning a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. Yabusele impressed during his return season and has now signed a two-year contract with the New York Knicks. He will likely play a key role in Mike Brown's second unit. During a recent episode of "The Roommates" podcast, Yabusele explained his decision to return to the NBA to new teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. He also touched on the difference between the NBA game and the European game and his hopes for the upcoming season. You can watch the full podcast episode by clicking on the embedded video above. Breanna Stewart Gets Injury Update Before Lynx-Liberty Game
The New York Liberty have been without WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart since she suffered a right knee bone bruise in a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on July 26. Since her injury, the reigning WNBA champions have notched a 4-6 record and are currently on a two-game losing skid. That being said, the Liberty received some positive news regarding their franchise centerpiece on Monday. Stewart was a full participant in Monday's practice session, running with the second unit before Tuesday evening's matchup against the Minnesota Lynx. The seven-time WNBA All Star is targeting a return to action on Aug. 27 — her 31st birthday. Through 24 games in her 10th WNBA season, Stewart is averaging 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals per game. Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello is confident in the progression of her two-time WNBA MVP. "She looked good," Brondello said after practice on Monday. "We didn't really go live, so we'll keep building her up these next few days. She feels good, she looks good." The Liberty currently hold No. 3 position in the WNBA standings with a 21-13 record. Stewart and her squad began the 2025 season with a nine-game winning streak. After Tuesday's matchup against the No. 1-ranked Lynx, the Liberty will face off against the Chicago Sky on Aug. 21. Stewart's next opportunity to return is a matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Aug. 23.
