Citroen e-C3 to gain £15k van variant with 200-mile range
ë-C3 van will have its rear seats and seatbelt points removed and a mesh bulkhead added
Citroën hopes to spark a revival of the small car-based van segment by launching a £15,000 ë-C3 electric van.
The commercial variant of its new entry-level electric car is due in April, with a likely starting price of £15,035 excluding VAT but inclusive of the UK's Plug-in Van Grant. It will be built to N1 classification.
Only the Dacia Spring Cargo will be cheaper, at £14,995 excluding VAT, yet the ë-C3 van will have a longer range.
It will be based on the larger-battery (44kWh) version of the ë-C3 with 200-miles of range (one mile more than the car, due to a marginally lower weight) and charging speeds of up to 100kW. Power comes from a 111bhp electric motor.
Citroën UK boss Greg Taylor told Autocar that the brand 'can see a niche' for the appeal of such a model. 'Ford used to sell thousands of Fiesta vans,' he said. 'Part of our goal is to reinvigorate that segment, and we're excited to start with this.'
The ë-C3 van is designed to appeal for last-mile deliveries and short-distance journeys and for businesses that don't need a larger van.
'It's gone to tenders and there are use cases," said Taylor. "There are people who don't need a Berlingo and it can give something that the market can't offer at the moment.'
The new van will have the rear seats and seatbelt points removed and have a mesh bulkhead installed. It will have 1.3 square metres of load space. Otherwise, it will come with all of the features of the car on which it is based, including the Advanced Comfort front seats and suspension.
It's part of a wider push from Citroën to launch a range of affordable EVs. The firm already has five EVs available for less than £30,000, including the ë-C4 and ë-C4 X, which have had their prices cut to coincide with their facelifts to start from £26,295 and £27,360 respectively. The Ami, ë-C3 and upcoming ë-C3 Aircross complete the five.
Citroën is also in the process of developing an eight-year warranty to roll out across its entire model range. Taylor said the finer details and launch date were still being worked on but the brand sees it as a way of retaining aftersales and servicing within its network; and keeping in touch with buyers of new vehicles for longer and with people buying its cars used.
Taylor said it isn't a reactionary move but rather one to allow Citroën to maintain its 'upward trajectory', particularly at the moment, when it's in the process of refreshing its entire model range.

That's still far more expensive than conventional gas or hybrid minivans like the Chrysler Pacifica. However, it looks like a smaller, cheaper sibling could be on the way, based on a new report by Autocar. The report suggests that the new VW would replace the Touran, an MPV that has never been sold in the United States, given our market's preference for SUVs. Currently being internally reviewed by Volkswagen, the potential Touran replacement could draw inspiration from one of the brand's most exciting concepts. The Budd-E was the first VW model to be based on the MEB modular platform that now underpins models like the ID.4, ID.7 and The electric minivan concept still looks ultra-modern today, with its wraparound windshield, two-tone body, and bold face with sleek lighting. It's this concept that could inspire the Touran replacement, but this is just one of several older MPV concepts VW is reviewing. The minimal overhangs and flat floor will maximize interior space but keep the proportions tight, which is exactly why this type of vehicle excels. According to insiders, new sliding door and seat designs are being considered to make this vehicle as versatile as possible. Powering the Touran replacement could be a choice of single or dual electric motors. To keep the price low enough, an output of around 200 to 250 hp seems reasonable, given that the larger manages between 282 and 335 hp. The and ID.4 are rear-wheel drive as standard, but its smaller sibling may rely on front-wheel drive as standard. Battery capacities of 60 to 80 kWh have been suggested as likely. EVs of this size would be expected to have a range of at least 240 miles or so to be competitive. At this point, it seems unlikely that a smaller version of the would be sold here. Such a vehicle would clash with the ID.4 in terms of price - the priciest ID.4 starts at just below the price of the Besides this, few Americans choose SUVs over minivans or MPVs. The smaller and cheaper is expected to be launched by 2027 at the earliest, assuming Volkswagen does decide to put it into production. The trading gives Voyager Technologies a market value of $3.2 billion based on the outstanding shares listed in its filings. Space Station Replacement Voyager has a $217.5 million development grant with NASA to design Starlab, the commercial space station planned to replace the International Space Station, which is set to be decommissioned in 2030. Voyager plans to operate Starlab through a joint venture with equity partners including Airbus SE, Mitsubishi Corp., MDA Space Ltd. and Palantir Technologies Inc. The recent hostilities between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk jolted the share prices of companies in the sector on the prospect that SpaceX's dominant position had become vulnerable, though Musk later expressed regret over the rift. In an interview on Bloomberg TV Wednesday, Voyager Chief Executive Officer Dylan Taylor credited SpaceX as a crucial player in the industry, and said that there are other firms that are also doing great things. The space sector is unique in that companies are looking to collaborate and cooperate, he said. 'Really, everyone is rooting for everyone else,' Taylor said. 'I mean that sincerely, because it's important we get replacements up there prior to the International Space Station being decommissioned.' Voyager reported a net loss of $26.9 million on revenue of $34.5 million in the three months ended March 31, compared with a net loss of $14.8 million on revenue of $30.2 million in the same quarter last year. Trump's proposed 'Golden Dome' defense system, using space-based interceptors to shield the US from missile threats, could further boost Voyager's prospects. 'If the President gets what he wants for Golden Dome, that would potentially be a windfall,' Taylor said. Congressional Republicans are seeking $25 billion to start work on a project that Trump said could cost $175 billion overall. From the commercial space aspect of the business, even under a so-called skinny budget scenario, there would still be robust funding for commercial space stations, Taylor said. Reid Taylor to make professional debut in High Point Nationals on a 250
Reid Taylor, 21, will make his American professional dirt bike debut in the High Point Nationals this week in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. Originally scheduled to debut in the 250 East division of the Monster Energy Supercross season, Taylor underwent minor surgery that delayed his start. Instead of heading home to his native Australia after the surgery, Taylor remained in the United States and relocated to the ClubMX Training Facility in Chesterfield, South Carolina, to maximize his recovery. Taylor's Supercross credentials include the 2023 and 2024 Australian Junior Supercross Championships as well as the 2024 Indian Supercross Championship, so it was an easy decision to tag him as Devin Simonson's replacement when that rider was injured late last year. 'I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to race for the team at High Point,' Taylor said in a news release. 'It wasn't in the plans, but it is definitely something that I want to do. Being at ClubMX on a full-time basis has changed the way I go about racing. The intensity, structure and focus are something that has been very beneficial to me. These guys are 'all in' and I want to return the favor by representing them the best way possible.' Taylor's High Point start is the only motocross race on his schedule for now, as Taylor needs to return to Australia to honor his visa requirements. He will return to the US later in the summer. 'Reid has fit right into our program,' said ClubMX team owner Brandon Haas. 'He follows everything we have asked him to do, and the results show it. We had a spot available for High Point and our organization has always been about giving riders a chance, so it only made sense to follow through on the idea. I discussed with the team and they were all in favor of it too, so this decision will be good for everyone.'
