In Apr 2006, Yadav, along with 250 supporters, had set up a tent at the Pawai crossing in Azmgarh and blocked a key passage, leading to massive inconvenience to commuters and disrupting govt work. The then Pawai police station officer, Moolchand Chaurasia, had lodged a case against Ramakant and his supporters.Based on testimony of three witnesses and evidence presented by prosecution, court found Ramakant Yadav and his aides — Dayaram Bhaskar, Ramkishun Rajbhar and Ramkripal guilty — delivered the verdict on Tuesday.In May 2023, Yadav had been sentenced to four months imprisonment in a 2019 case by MP-MLA court of Jaunpur on charges of assaulting a man.
The MLA has been in jail since July 2022, when he had surrendered before MP-MLA court in a case of attempted murder and disturbing public order by blocking a road in 1998. He was also booked in another case in 2016. In Sep 2022, Yadav was transferred from Azamgarh district jail to Fatehgarh jail.Yadav, a known political turncoat, reached the UP assembly for the fifth time after winning the Phoolpur Pawai seat in the 2022 assembly polls. He was also named as an accused in a hooch tragedy in Feb 2022. Yadav, who has been four-time MP on tickets of BSP, SP, and BJP, was also declared leader of inter-region gang-42.Court granted him bail in cases lodged in 1998 and 2016, but he could not come out as on July 30, 2022, police produced file of Mahul hooch tragedy before the court, which ordered to extend Yadav's judicial remand.

Probing fake kidnapping case, cops bust online betting racket, 8 arrested
Police in Greater Noida and a SWAT team has busted an international online cricket betting racket while investigating a fake kidnapping case and arrested eight accused involved in the racket. Kasna police seized four laptops, 26 mobile phones, 16 SIM cards, fake Aadhaar cards, cheque books, passbooks, passports and other suspicious case began on June 12, when Subhash Chandra, from Rajasthan's Alwar, informed the police that his 22-year-old son Bheem Singh and 25-year-old nephew Narayan had allegedly been kidnapped in Noida and a ransom of Rs 7 lakh was June 12, Subhash Chandra reported that his 22-year-old son Bheem Singh and nephew Narayan had been kidnapped in the Kasna police station area. 2 fake policemen arrested for theft
Raichur: Two men who posed as police personnel and robbed women of jewellery were arrested in Raichur district on Saturday. The arrested, Ali Tayyab and Abbas Mustafa, would alert unsuspecting women about the risks of fines for wearing gold jewellery. They would then steal the jewellery under the guise of offering assistance in wrapping it, west station police said. In a recent incident, the pair stole a 20-gram gold chain valued at Rs 2 lakh from an elderly woman named Padma in the city. They then escaped on a motorcycle. Following this incident, the West Station police established a special team to capture the offenders. The suspects were arrested on Saturday while they were checking vehicles at a barricade along the highway close to Gabbur police station limits in Devdurg taluk. The investigation uncovered that the suspects previously engaged in gold jewellery thefts in Pune. The police retrieved the gold chain that was taken from Padma.
