Coolie Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajinikanth's gangster drama sees a sharp decline, earns only Rs...
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 3: The basic law of cinema says that when a movie is disliked by critics, the revenue of the film drops drastically. This is something which is applicable to many movies. However, when the movie is of Rajinikanth, then such law goes straight out of the window. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and headlined by Thalaivar aka Rajinikanth, the film has crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide. Though the movie has grossed big numbers across the world, the trend now seems to be going down. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie box office collection on day 3 stands at hardly Rs 38 crore. The movie, which had a great start, is now starting to witness a decline. Coolie Box Office Collection Day 3 The gangster action drama witnessed a record opening with Rs 65 crore on day 1. However, since then the numbers were expected to rise, but the opposite happened, as Coolie box office collection on day 2 stood at Rs 54.75 crore. Now, day 3 box office collection was Rs 38 crore, which is a sharp decline compared to the previous day's numbers. However, the three-day revenue has now pushed the Coolie total box office collection to Rs 158 crore in India. Coolie was released in 4 languages – Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. And the maximum revenue was generated from the Tamil belt. Coolie Worldwide Collection Day 3 While there is definitely a dip in numbers, and fears that it might collapse as reviews were not favourable, the movie has still surpassed Rs 300 crore worldwide. Coolie has emerged as the fastest Tamil film to enter the Rs 300 crore club worldwide, overtaking Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, which earlier held the record. While Leo touched the milestone in 4 days, Coolie achieved it in just 3 days, rewriting Kollywood's box office history. The blockbuster has already raced past Rs 325 crore worldwide in 3 days, whereas Leo had grossed Rs 287 crore in the same time frame. Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Collection Day 3 This Thursday was a special one with two big-budget movies hitting the big screens – Ayan Mukerji's War 2 and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. Both the films feature top superstars. While War 2 had Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, Coolie was headlined by Rajinikanth and also featured Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan in a cameo. Both the films have entered the Rs 100 crore club domestically and are giving tough competition to each other.

War 2 box office collection Day 3: Despite Coolie storm, Hrithik & Jr NTR touch ₹150 crore mark; beats Salman's Sikandar
War 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's much-awaited War 2 had a shaky start but has since gained pace at the box office. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, and part of YRF's larger spy universe, the film opened strong on Day 1 with ₹52 crore on Thursday, August 14, just ahead of the Independence Day weekend. But the clash with Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna's Coolie, which stormed past ₹300 crore in only three days, made the battle tougher. For War 2, Day 2 saw a boost from the holiday, bringing in ₹57.35 crore, but Day 3 trends show the numbers dipping once again. Also read: War 2 box office collection worldwide Day 2: Hrithik Roshan reclaims territory, Jr NTR's contribution declines as film passes Rs 100 crore mark on Independence Day According to Box Office Tracker Sacnilk, by the end of Day 2, War 2 had earned ₹109.35 crore net in India. On Day 3 (Saturday), the movie managed to pull in just ₹33 crore (all languages), which took the three-day India total to ₹142.35 crore net. (This is an early estimate for Saturday, and by the end of the day, it would have already crossed the ₹150 crore mark.) Despite the drop, the film has already gone past the lifetime earnings of Salman Khan's Sikandar (₹110 crore in India). The worldwide earnings of the movie on day 2 stood at 38 cr Net. (168 Cr worldwide in 2 days). Also read: Coolie box office collection Day 3: Rajinikanth starrer becomes fastest Tamil film to earn ₹300 crore worldwide, beats Vettaiyan and Mohanlal's Empuraan on opening weekend The Hindi version is leading, but Jr NTR's presence has also boosted business in the Telugu states, where the film earned over ₹35 crore in the first three days. Despite facing Coolie, which surpassed the ₹150 crore nationwide mark on Day 3, Tamil collections were also steady, with overall occupancies on Day 3 better than Hindi. Globally, the film has crossed ₹200 crore gross by Saturday, though overseas numbers are decent rather than record-breaking. War 2 clocked an overall Hindi occupancy of 31.42% on Saturday, August 16, 2025, weaker than Day 2. Tamil: 49% average on Day 3, Telugu: 42% average on Day 3. Sacnilk reported stronger occupancies in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru, while northern cities like Delhi and Mumbai lagged. The film features Kiara Advani in the lead, Ashutosh Rana in supporting parts, and Anil Kapoor in a key role. Despite falling short of YRF spy universe benchmarks set by SRK's Pathaan and Salman's Tiger, War 2 is still faring better than many recent Bollywood flops. On Saturday, Hrithik and Jr NTR thanked fans on social media. Hrithik said watching celebrations in theatres made his heart 'fuller,' while Jr NTR called the audience's love 'incredible.' War 2's big competition is Rajinikanth's Coolie, which was released in the same window. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is celebrating 50 years of Rajinikanth in cinema. Along with Rajinikanth, the film features Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, and cameos from Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde. Coolie has already taken the lead in the box office clash. By Day 3, it earned ₹158.25 crore in India and ₹320-325 crore worldwide, compared to War 2's ₹142.35 crore in India. On Saturday, Coolie collected ₹38.50 crore, a much bigger number compared to War 2's ₹33 crore.
