TG Endowments dept rolls out e-Office system to ramp up ops
According to the officials, this move towards modernizing the functioning of the Endowments Department and aimed at improving the speed, transparency, and efficiency of internal operations across the department. The e-Office was inaugurated in the presence of Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, Endowments Commissioner S Venkata Rao, and other senior officials.
Speaking during the launch, Konda Surekha said the introduction of the e-Office system was a major step forward in administrative reform. 'This system will make it easy to process files quickly and without unnecessary delays. Since everything is tracked digitally, there will be no confusion or blame game between staff and officers. More importantly, files will now be safe from theft, loss, or even damage in case of incidents like fire,' she said.
Explaining further, the Minister noted that the digital platform would function similar to manual file systems with note files and current files, but with far greater convenience. 'Files can now be cleared from any location, at any time, without the need for physical presence in the office. Urgent files can also be marked separately so they get top priority. Soon we will use the same services in Yadagirigutta and the 30 other temples across the state,' she said, adding that the influence of intermediaries like PAs and CCs in file movement will reduce drastically.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) developed the e-Office application. NIC Joint Director Raghava Chary and Technical Manager Kavita were present at the event.
As part of the launch, the Minister approved the first official file through the e-Office system a compassionate appointment file. She sanctioned a government job for Naveen Kumar under the compassionate recruitment scheme.
The Minister also appreciated Commissioner Venkata Rao for taking a hands-on approach in ensuring the successful implementation of this initiative. 'For the last 15 days, the Commissioner personally supervised all computerisation work and ensured proper training for every staff member. His efforts have been instrumental in making this project a reality,' she said.

Imran Khan's party organises nationwide protests for his release; over 500 supporters arrested
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) organised protest rallies in different parts of the country, demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was arrested two years ago on corruption charges. The party claimed that its more than 500 workers and supporters who took to the streets were arrested by police, mostly in Punjab province. Khan, 72, was arrested on August 5, 2023, from his residence in Lahore after being convicted by a court in a corruption case. He has been incarcerated since his arrest due to conviction in other cases, and is being held at the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The call for the protest was given by Khan. His party claimed that supporters of the jailed leader responded by coming out in big numbers. "Today, August 5, marks the second anniversary of the incarceration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan with all basic human rights revoked, no or very limited access to his legal team or family, no access to his political leadership other than a couple of people now and then," senior party leader Zulfi Bokhari said in a statement. Mr. Bukhari, who is the spokesperson of Khan for international relations as well as international media, said the government has imposed a ban on gatherings, blocking main highways, wrecking cars with party flags and raiding the residences of active party leaders and workers. "Over 500 PTI leaders and workers have been arrested so far in Punjab alone, mostly from Lahore, including several lawmakers," he said. "Democracy is non-existent, nor is there the rule of law and human rights. However, this kind of tyrannical treatment of our very own Pakistanis is shameful, even for this hybrid regime,' Mr. Bokhari said. "The protesters will continue to demonstrate peacefully till the end of the day. However, the government seems weak in the knees, despite being in power,' he said. According to Khan's party, most arrests were made in Lahore as Khan's supporters came out on the roads in large numbers to protest against the 'fascist regime'. Police in Punjab province, which is ruled by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, arrested PTI supporters for allegedly violating Section 144, which bans the assembly of four or more people. Sharing a video of a police raid on her residence on social media, she said that the Punjab Police once again raided her home. "In a democracy, it is usually the case that if any group protests and damages government property, then institutions spring into action. But here the situation is reversed - the protest has not even begun, yet the state commits a far greater crime by trampling the sanctity of our homes," she said. "As a state, we need to wake up. Such fascist actions are eroding human rights, democracy, and civil liberties," she said. Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said party supporters will also reach outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to protest against Khan's illegal confinement. "Imran Khan has given a message that he is ready to stay in jail for 10 years for the people of Pakistan and the rule of law, but not succumb to any kind of pressure from the regime," said Qaiser, who is also the Secretary General of Tehreek Tahaffuz Ain-e-Pakistan (TTAP), an alliance of six opposition parties. Another PTI leader, Ali Muhammad Khan, wrote on social media that the country's problems cannot be solved by jailing political opponents, but through political dialogue and demanded the immediate release of Khan and other 'innocent political prisoners'. Earlier, the government in Punjab took strong security measures to foil the protest. It imposed section 144 in Lahore and Rawalpindi to outlaw any political activity. In Rawalpindi, over 4,000 policemen were deployed across the city to ensure security. Arrangements were also made around Adiala Jail, including the deployment of Riot Management Force units. To prevent any law and order situation near Adiala Jail, a red alert was issued and Adiala Road was sealed for ordinary traffic. The provincial government also announced the use of the paramilitary Punjab Rangers for security around Adiala jail and other areas of Rawalpindi. There were also reports of protests in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, but so far the party mostly shared details of its protest in Punjab. BDA gets approval to form six new layouts along PRR-2
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has got an approval from the State government for its proposal to develop six new layouts along Peripheral Ring Road - 2 between Tumakuru Road and Hosur Road via Magadi Road, Mysuru Road, and Kanakapura Road. Of these six layouts, the largest layout (over 4,200 acres) will come up along Kanakapura Road, and this is expected to include an industrial area as well. This layout will come up on villages including Kaggalipura, one of the three shortlisted sites for Bengaluru's second international airport. The other shortlisted site, Harohalli, is also along Kanakapura Main Road 15 km away from Kaggalipura. The third proposed site is along Nelamangala-Kunigal Road. The remaining five layouts are relatively small, including one layout, which is just 84 acres. 'We have selected land parcels which have the least development,' a senior BDA official said. To compensate land owners Apart from planned development along the new major arterial road PRR-2, these layouts are also being taken up to compensate land losers to the road project with developed land along the road. While the BDA is raising ₹27,000 crore debt to finance 67-km-long PRR-1 between Tumakuru Road and Hosur Road via Ballari Road, Old Madras Road, and Sarjapur Road, it has decided to take up 53-km-long PRR 2, to complete the circle as a Major Arterial Road. A 10-km stretch of this proposed 100-metre-wide road connecting Mysuru Road and Magadi Road that passes through Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout has been completed as part of the NPKL project. Land losers to the road project were compensated with 40% developed land in the layout and 60% cash component as part of their compensation package. Following the success of this model, the BDA now wants to develop six layouts along the remaining 43 km of the road along two stretches - stretch 1 connecting Hosur Road to Mysuru Road (35 km) and stretch 2 connecting Magadi Road to Tumakuru Road (8 km). The letter from the Urban Development Department (UDD) approving BDA's proposal said that land losers shall be compensated under BDA Act, 1976, with 40% developed land and 60% cash component in their compensation package. Landlords whose lands will be acquired for PRR 2, and the layouts will be compensated in the six layouts with developed land. For instance, the 35-km stretch between Hosur Road to Mysuru Road requires 860 acres of land, sources said. 'Finish works in older layouts first' Chenna Basavaraju M. E., president, NPKL Open Forum, fighting BDA over lack of basic infrastructure in NPKL at Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA-K), which has declared the project a 'defaulter' and in the Petitions Committee of the Karnataka Legislature, said that the BDA seemed to be forming layouts and hopping on to newer projects leaving older layouts without even basic infrastructure. 'The BDA should ensure the layouts it has formed are provided with infrastructure, so that it is liveable for allottees to build houses, before forming new layouts,' he said. Apart from the NPKL, there are complaints over lack of infrastructure even in Arkavathy Layout, Visveswaraya Layout, and Banashankari VI Stage as well. After NPKL, the BDA has formed Dr. K. Shivarama Karanth Layout in which 30,000 sites are up for allotment. However, there is a High Court stay on allotment of sites in the Layout.

Resolve teacher transfer complaints by Aug 31: ACS
Patna: Additional chief secretary (ACS) of the education department, S Siddharth , on Tuesday asked district officers to complete the review of complaints related to teacher transfer postings by Aug 31. He said the entire process of transfer postings must be concluded between Sept 1 and Sept 30. A formal letter was issued by the ACS detailing the procedure for addressing transfer-related complaints submitted through the e-Shikshakosh portal. "During the process of teacher transfer postings, it must be ensured that no election-related work is obstructed, and the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India are strictly adhered to," the ACS said. District Establishment Committee, chaired by the district officer, will be responsible for reviewing complaints pertaining to both inter-district and intra-district transfer postings. In the case of inter-district transfers, the committee is required to submit a consolidated list with clear recommendations to the director of primary education. Based on these recommendations, transfer orders for inter-district postings will be issued by the director. For transfers within the same district, new posting orders will be issued following the resolution of the complaints.
