It's a quiet week for The Beatles on the music charts in the United Kingdom, which means the group appears on only a handful of tallies. Still, it seems that British citizens will never stop consuming the music the Fab Four created, whether through hugely popular compilations or steady buying and streaming activity of individual tunes.
The Beatles return to multiple rankings in the country this week, as both a hit single and a massively popular album manage to reappear.
The Beatles claim just one popular track in the U.K. this week, as "Now and Then" becomes a bestseller once more. The tune, which was released in 2023 and marketed as the final release by The Beatles, reenters the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 50.
"Now and Then"—which earned the group a new Grammy Award only months ago—never stays away from this tally for long. It has now spent 78 weeks somewhere on the list of the top-selling tracks on any physical format, including nearly two months at No. 1.
The Beatles also appear with multiple charting albums at the moment, but only one had to return. 1, a compilation of the group's No. 1 hits, finds its way back to the Official Album Downloads chart at No. 93.
Among all of the band's projects that performed well enough to appear on at least one list, 1 is the longest-charting, as it is now up to 238 weeks on the ranking of the most-downloaded titles in the country. 1 is also the only full-length by The Beatles this week to appear on just a single roster.
The Beatles typically keep two related compilations on the charts, and both are still present at the moment. 1967–1970 and 1962–1966 take up space on both the Official Albums chart and Official Albums Streaming ranking. Only 1967–1970 manages to climb, as it ascends two spots on the streaming-only tally, while in every other instance, the projects — which contain the singles the band released during the years in the albums' titles — are falling.
Interestingly, there's no crossover between the two connected compilations and 1, as it seems that both 1967–1970 and 1962–1966 perform especially well on platforms like Spotify, which may be keeping them going on the charts, while 1 is a bestseller.

(AP Photo/Alberto Pezzali) ASCOT, England (AP) — King Charles III and Queen Camilla endured disappointment on the opening day of Royal Ascot as their horse, Reaching High, failed to back up his status as favorite in one of the big races. Going off at odds of 3-1, Reaching High got stuck near the rail and was never in contention to win the Ascot Stakes, finishing in ninth place under jockey Ryan Moore. Advertisement He was the only runner for the king and queen on the first day of the prestigious, high-end meeting that mixes elite sport on the course with style and fashion off it. Hours earlier, the monarchs arrived at the course at the head of the traditional carriage procession in front of tens of thousands of racegoers. The royal procession is celebrating its 200th anniversary, with the tradition beginning during the reign of George IV in 1825 when the monarch was accompanied by the Duke of Wellington. Writing in Royal Ascot's official program, the king and queen said: 'Having experienced the thrill of victory at Royal Ascot ourselves in 2023, we can only wish all those competing this week the very best of luck and that everyone watching has a most enjoyable five days.' Advertisement They will have to wait for their own winner, though, with Ascending triumphing at 20-1. The late Queen Elizabeth II was a passionate owner and breeder of thoroughbreds and had more than 20 Royal Ascot winners during her 70-year reign. Charles and Camilla have taken on her stable of horses and enjoyed their first Royal Ascot winner in 2023, when Desert Hero triumphed in the King George V Stakes. ___ AP sports:

Inside the addictive world of "The Traitors" and Alan Cumming's viral style
Behind the scenes of "The Traitors" with Alan Cumming Behind the scenes of "The Traitors" Behind the scenes of "The Traitors" Inside the stone walls of Ardross Castle, reality television contestants are plotting betrayals, forming alliances and committing metaphorical murder, all while host Alan Cumming orchestrates the chaos in increasingly outrageous outfits. The Scottish castle serves as the backdrop for Peacock's hit reality series "The Traitors," which is currently filming its fourth season with a star-studded cast that includes Olympic figure skating icons Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, NFL mom Donna Kelce, and favorites from "Big Brother," "Survivor" and "The Real Housewives" franchise. The Emmy-winning competition show's unique blend of deception and strategy has made it one of the most popular unscripted series on television, with Cumming's dramatic hosting style becoming a viral sensation. The production team uses the entire castle estate for elaborate missions designed to test contestants and provide opportunities to win money and immunity. "I think the way we do deceit is popular," said Ben Archard, the show's director. "It's just like a safe space. Right? It's a safe space for murdering. It's a safe space for deceit." The 2,000-acre estate provides the perfect setting for the backstabbing, betrayal, mystery and mayhem that define the series. Executive producer Sam Rees-Jones said the castle functions as "another character" in the show. "It has that feel of a murder mystery … For the players it gives that," Rees-Jones said. The castle's breakfast room has become particularly iconic as the location where contestants learn which players the traitors have "murdered" overnight. Cumming relishes the dramatic moment of smashing framed photos of eliminated contestants. "Like when I first started to do it, they're like, 'Oh no, that's too much.' And now it's like one of my things," Cumming said. Over three seasons, Cumming's wardrobe has evolved from "nice little tartan suits" to what he describes as "insane capes and weird dresses." Stylist Sam Spector creates intricate, "creepy glam" looks inspired by each episode's mission, including a pocket square made from a doll's head with bloody rhinestone eyes. "There has to be a little bit of kitsch and also glamour in each episode," Spector said. The show's most dramatic moments occur during the selection process, where Cumming taps chosen traitors on the shoulder in what he calls "full on psychological warfare." "I do a thing where I make sounds with my [sleeve] and like go past their ears and make sounds," Cumming explained. "It's very, very like [gentle tap]." The ritual has become so iconic that Cumming said people regularly ask him to demonstrate "the tap." Many of the show's catchphrases have entered popular culture, particularly Cumming's declaration: "You have received the most votes and are banished from the game." "It's great to have a catchphrase though," Cumming said. "And like when people say, 'I love the show,' I just leave them a little message: 'You have received the most votes and are banished!' And people are like 'Ahhhh!'"

Disney, Amazon Expand Advertising Partnership
Disney and Amazon are teaming up to expand opportunities for advertisers, integrating the entertainment giant's Real-Time Ad Exchange with the tech giant's demand-side platform (DSP). The partnership, which was announced during Cannes Lions, will give buyers direct access to Disney+, ESPN and Hulu, as well as access to data from both companies for more precise targeting and efficient outcomes. For example, a pet food brand could reach viewers who both consume Disney content and have shown interest in pet products on Amazon. 'By building a direct path connecting Amazon's commerce insights to the full scale of Disney's streaming ecosystem, we're enabling greater accessibility to inventory and audience signals that translate into meaningful results for advertisers leveraging Amazon DSP,' Disney Advertising vice president of programmatic sales Matt Barnes said in a statement. Disney will begin implementing this expanded access with select advertisers in the coming months. Additionally, Disney+ inventory is now available through Amazon DSP in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. 'This collaboration with Disney represents a significant leap forward in advertising effectiveness,' Amazon DSP vice president Kelly MacLean added. 'We're breaking down traditional barriers between content and commerce signals, allowing advertisers to deliver more meaningful experiences to viewers. By connecting Disney's premium content with Amazon's deep consumer understanding, we're creating advertising that works better for everyone — brands reach the right audiences, publishers maximize their inventory value and viewers see more relevant ads.' The agreement comes as Disney reaches a monthly ad-supported audience of 164 million users across Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu, while Prime Video has surpassed 130 million ad-supported users in the U.S. When combining Prime Video with Amazon's other owned and operated entertainment properties such as Twitch, MGM Studios, Wondery and Amazon Music, the tech giant's entertainment portfolio reaches an average monthly ad-supported audience of more than 300 million.
