DUBAI (ALETIHAD) H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shabab Al Ahli Club, on Sunday attended the crowning of the club as champions of the ADNOC Pro League for the 2024–2025 season – marking the ninth title in the club's history.The trophy was secured following the team's triumph against Al Jazira Club during the title match held at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi.H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed congratulated the club's board members, coaching and administrative staff, and players on their achievement, praising the team's remarkable performance throughout the season, which saw them finishing with four titles in all. He also commended the players for displaying exemplary sportsmanship, which he described as a key factor in the team's success.
With this victory, Shabab Al Ahli concludes an exceptional season during which they also won the UAE President's Cup for the eleventh time, as well as the UAE Super Cup, and the UAE-Qatar Challenge Shield, besides the ADNOC Pro League.The occasion saw Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed joining Shabab Al Ahli players and the club's coaching and administrative staff for commemorative photos.
Team members expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to His Highness for his constant support, encouragement, and positive appraisal of their performances – factors, they said, had played a vital role in their remarkably successful season.

The event drew a large crowd and created an energetic atmosphere, featuring top athletes across the under-18, adult, and master the end of the round, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club topped the overall standings, with MoD UAE in second place and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in final day witnessed fierce contests that showcased a high technical level, reflecting the rapid development of jiu-jitsu in the UAE and its leading role on the global stage. Experienced athletes delivered strong performances, raising the level of competition and intensity. Khaled Zawia, Al Jazira Club's under-18 athlete who won gold in the 66kg division, said he was always makes it a point to compete in the Championship 'because the strong participation from clubs and athletes gives me the chance to sharpen my skills and develop my game. The matches were very tough, but I managed to win all my bouts, secure the gold, and add valuable ranking points for my club.'Mohamed Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: 'The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship embodies the role of sport in strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing noble values across generations. 'It is a platform that brings athletes and their families together in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit and values of jiu-jitsu, while introducing the community to its physical and mental benefits. We are delighted to witness such a strong turnout in the unique atmosphere of this championship, which underscores the sport's growing popularity in the UAE.'The closing ceremony was attended by Yousef Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Abdulrazzaq Al Hashemi, Chairman of Al Nasr Sports Games Company; Mohammed Mubarak, Director of Aviation Security and Hazardous Materials; Nayef Ibrahim, Senior Director of Operations and Events at Dubai Economy and Tourism; Hashem Al Quraishi, Director of Contracts and Purchasing Department at Dubai Municipality; and Dalal Ibrahim Al Raisi, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience at Q Mobility. Al Nasr's Al Hashemi took pride as the hosts, and added: 'We are aware of the significance of jiu-jitsu and the benefits it offers practitioners, not only in terms of physical fitness but also in building character, confidence, and discipline. The impressive levels we witnessed highlight the efforts of the sporting system in cementing the country's position on the global jiu-jitsu map.'
