Officers cordoned off a Scotmid Co-op store at the corner of the street, blocking access to the public.
A large police van has been spotted parked at the scene directly outside the shop.
Officers were called to the store, which is close to Shettleston train station, when the alarm was raised at around 7pm.
Blue tape has been erected around the area, with numerous officers standing guard.
It covers the area around the Scotmid shop, which sits on the corner of the street, and the tape stretches around the bend of the road.
No one is being allowed access to get through this section of the road.
And it is also blocking anyone from accessing the now-closed Greggs branch, which is located next door.
It is unclear what sparked the emergency response.
However, officers appear to have concentrated their efforts on the Scotmid shop.
Concerned locals have flocked to social media after hearing of the incident in the Budhill area.

Someone else wrote: "Hope everyone is ok".
While a fourth chimed in: "Hope all the lovely staff are ok".
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.

Scots teen who planned 'Columbine style' mass school shooting to be sentenced

Felix Winter came under investigation after a photograph circulated on social media showing him in full combat gear, holding an imitation firearm on school grounds. A Scots teenager who fantasised about carrying out a mass shooting at his own school is due to be sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow. Felix Winter, now 18, from Edinburgh, repeatedly spoke about launching a deadly attack at his secondary school, referring to the planned massacre as "Doomsday" and describing how he would one day "clear it out". The court previously heard that Winter "idolised" the two gunmen responsible for the 1999 Columbine High School shooting in Colorado, which left 12 students and a teacher dead. A police investigation was launched in summer 2023 after a photograph circulated on social media showing Winter in full combat gear, holding an imitation firearm on school grounds. The image caused widespread panic among pupils and parents. At the time, Winter had already been referred to the UK's anti-terrorism Prevent programme, designed to stop individuals from becoming radicalised. He was also found to hold racist and pro-Nazi views. Winter pleaded guilty to a breach of the peace and an offence under the Terrorism Act, with his crimes taking place between June 2022 and July 2023. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Defence KC Shelagh McCall told the court in March that a psychological assessment found a 'serious link' between Winter's autism and his disturbing behaviour. She argued that his actions were driven more by his condition than by extremist ideology. Ms McCall said her client had made 'marked improvements' since the incidents and had shown remorse. 'He has expressed regret and recognises that he didn't previously appreciate how his behaviour was impacting others,' she said. 'He accepts that, given his guilty plea and his previous comments about school shootings, turning up to school in that outfit would understandably cause alarm—but this was not his intention.' Felix Winter is due to be sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow today, July 30.

Winter pleaded guilty to a breach of the peace and a charge under the Terrorism Act. The crimes spanned between June 2022 and July 2023. Classmates recalled how the boy "spoke excitedly and with considerable enthusiasm" when he talked about Columbine and other school shootings. He "sympathised" with the pair behind it - Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris - and would copy how they had dressed. One girl said he "idolised school shooters in America". Defence KC Shelach McCall told the court in March that a professor argued it was his condition, rather than extremism, that drove his obsession with school shootings. Ms McCall said Winter had made a 'marked improvement' since his offending. The Columbine massacre: 25 Years Later She said: 'He has expressed regret and recognises that he didn't previously appreciate how his behaviour was impacting on others. "He accepts in the context of his plea of guilty and his remarks about school shootings in 2022, him dressing in that costume and carrying that in a school would generate alarm to those who came upon it but this was not his intent." Winter will appear at the High Court in Glasgow today.
