CM: Hirings to realise smart policing vision of PM & HM
Lucknow: CM
Yogi Adityanath
on Sunday said the recruitment drive to hire over 60,000 cops was a pioneering step toward realizing PM Narenda Modi and HM Amit Shah's "smart policing" vision.
While distributing appointment letters to 60,244 youths , Yogi said, "The more you sweat during training, less blood would be shed in life.
If we can perform during Maha Kumbh, we can perform anywhere.
"
He also expressed his gratitude to Shah for augmenting paramilitary and military training resources which also enabled the state to train over 60,000 police officers. He urged the new recruits to be friendly, sensitive and solution-oriented in their approach during their service. Emphasizing the transformation UP has achieved in recent years, Yogi said police recruitment drives in the past were plagued by nepotism and favouritism.
Praising the force for their exemplary performance, the CM said a policeman on the field represents strong law enforcement and acts as a symbol of trust in the society. The latest recruitment drive marks a significant milestone, said Yogi, with the state progressing under the visionary leadership of prime minister
Narendra Modi
on the path of good governance and citizen welfare in the past eight years.
The CM said that the role of Uttar Pradesh policemen during Maha Kumbh was appreciated by crores of devotees who descended at Prayagraj during January and February for the world's largest religious gathering.

CM Yogi pointed out that before 2017, securing police jobs in UP was nearly impossible without money or recommendations. However, the current administration implemented a merit-based system that respects constitutional reservations without discrimination based on caste, religion, class or region.
Under the double-engine govt, UP created over 8.5 lakh jobs in eight years, out of which 1.25 lakh positions were created in the police department.
The state successfully implemented the five pillars of smart policing -- strict and sensitive men, modern and mobile approach, alert and accountable system, reliable & responsible service, and tech-Savvy and trendsetting working style.
Upgrading the infrastructure eight new forensic laboratories have been introduced in the state under the Yogi's regime. Every district in Uttar Pradesh has two mobile forensic vans, cyber units, while cyber helpdesks have been set up across 1,994 police stations.
The event concluded with a powerful moment as all 60,244 recruits stood together, holding their appointment letters, greeting CM Yogi with a monumental ovation. Overwhelmed at the sight, Yogi congratulated the families of the shortlisted candidates.
The latest recruitment drive represents not just a numerical achievement but also symbolises the state's commitment to maintaining peace, security for fostering investments while ensuring transparent and merit-based govt recruitment drives, a govt spokesperson said.
