Montreal's Pride festival is in full gear and vibrant celebrations of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities are happening across the city.
If you're driving in or around Montreal this weekend, prepare for major traffic disruptions—including multiple road closures and detours.
On Sunday, the annual Montreal Pride Parade will also bring significant street closures downtown.
Time Out Tip: Use the Waze app or Quebec511.info before you head out to avoid delays.
What is the route of the Pride Parade in Montreal?
The Montreal Pride Parade kicks off on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The parade begins at René-Lévesque Blvd. and Metcalfe St., ending at René-Lévesque Blvd. and Atataken St. Streets along the route will be closed to traffic during the event.
All the Pride Parade street closures to know in Montreal
Here's the full list of closures and traffic changes:
Honoré-Mercier Bridge – Planned work cancelled due to weather.
Côte-de-Liesse Rd. East – Closed between Devonshire Rd. and Décarie Expressway (A-15) interchange from Friday 10 p.m. to Sunday 8 p.m.
Highway 30 – Westbound Madeleine-Parent Bridge reduced to one lane (two closed) on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Bonaventure Hwy / Nuns' Island – Ramp to Samuel-De Champlain Bridge closed until September; one lane closed on Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. until early December.
Rose-de-Lima St. – Long-term closure between Saint-Antoine and Saint-Jacques; Rose-de-Lima / Saint-Jacques intersection also closed.
Route 132 / 138 (Kahnawake) – One lane closed on the ramp from Route-138 West to Route-132 East until Thursday, Sept. 5.
YUL Airport Drop-Off – New express drop-off at P4 and P10 parking lots from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with free shuttle service every five minutes.

Dudley Pride event will be bigger and better, says mayor

A "bigger and better" Pride event will be staged in Dudley with popular artists from last year returning, it has been free event, staged in 2024 for the first time, raises awareness and inclusivity around local LGBTQ+ aims to create a "warm, welcoming atmosphere which is inclusive for people of all ages and backgrounds," the town's mayor event runs from 13:00 to 20:00 BST in Stone Street Square and will feature performances from headline act The Ultimate ABBA Party and other favourites from 2024. Celebrations will kick off with an introduction from the day's MC, DJ Porky, followed by a performance by Dudley College through popular demand are DJ Stu Ojelay from Word of Mouth events and Karl M with Best of the Boybands anthems, Dudley Council from Priory House are also among acts set to entertain the crowds, with songs from WMYT West Midlands Youth Theatre and their pop/rock band. In addition, there will be craft and food stalls, face painting and glitter tattoos on offer. Mayor of Dudley Councillor Pete Lee, said: "Following the success of Dudley Pride last year, we are hoping to make this year's event bigger and better."The event, sponsored by Midtherm Laser Cutting, is also supported by Dudley College. 'Whole lot of love' from thousands at Stafford Pride

Thousands have taken to the streets in Staffordshire in rainbow colours to celebrate a Pride second Stafford Pride kicked off with a parade through the town centre at midday on Saturday, followed with a festival at Victoria "amazing" event celebrated the local LGBTQ+ community, organisers said, with crowds gathering to watch a headline performance from drag artist Baga director Jack Taylor-Walker said: "It just goes to show that there's a hell of a lot of love about." He said the festival, which was first held in 2024, was going from strength to strength, with this year's attendance up to about 8,000 year's event attracted about 7,500."We had an amazing crowd throughout the town for the parade and also in the park itself," Mr Taylor-Walker said. "This was a proper family event and it was well attended by families." Bunting and rainbow flags flying across the town showed support for Pride's mission of equality and tolerance, with the support of local organisations and the community meaningful, the event director added."It means that our community, the LGBTQ+ community, can be themselves and just celebrate the right that our predecessors before us have spent so long fighting for," he said. Stafford Pride is a community interest company, with funds raised by the event reinvested into next year's festival and the event going from strength to strength, plans for 2026 are already under way."We are back on for the 8 August next year and we'll be releasing details in the new year," Mr Taylor-Walker said. Eagle-eyed fans were delighted when The Kabin popped up for a brief cameo during Friday's episode of the ITV soap. The short scene showed George coming out from the back of the shop soaking wet in a white shirt as he was helping Jenny sort the plumbing. While chomping on a sweet Jenny joked that he "looked like that Mr Darcy from Pride & Prejudice," referring to the iconic scene in the vintage BBC series that saw Colin Firth play the character and emerge in a soaked shirt after taking an impromptu dip in the lake. Jenny then continued to flirt with George as she saw the cheeky innuendos in the plumbing terms he was describing to her. As he left the small shop, Jenny flirted with again asking to see him later, but a clueless George failed to catch on. Aside from enjoying the hilarious scene, many Corrie viewers were excited The Kabin's comeback. "Omg Kabin set in use guys first time seen this year !!!!,???" wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter. "It's been a lifetime, but welcome back to The Kabin. We missed you," another added. A third posted: "A scene in the Kabin !!! I say a scene in the Kabin!!!" And a fourth commented: "The returns of Ken Barlow and The Kabin in tonight's #Corrie. What a time to be alive!" The Kabin is a newsagents first made an appearance in 1973 before moving to its current location sits across from the corner shop on the cobbles in 1990. Coronation Street star Frank Grimes dies aged 78 as tributes paid to 'one of Ireland's greatest actors' The Kabin was long run by the iconic duo of Mavis and Rita who had a business partnership for 24 years. The Kabin is currently owned by Brian Packham, with Jenny asking for a job there in only April this year.
