If you're driving in or around Montreal this weekend, prepare for major traffic disruptions—including multiple road closures and detours. On Sunday, the annual Montreal Pride Parade will also bring significant street closures downtown. Time Out Tip: Use the Waze app or before you head out to avoid delays. What is the route of the Pride Parade in Montreal? The Montreal Pride Parade kicks off on Sunday at 1 p.m. The parade begins at René-Lévesque Blvd. and Metcalfe St., ending at René-Lévesque Blvd. and Atataken St. Streets along the route will be closed to traffic during the event. Commuters looking to get into Montreal from the South Shore should be aware that the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will be closed on the weekend, and the southbound lanes will be closed overnight. These and other closures are planned in and around the city and drivers would be wise to use a Wase or other trip-planning app before leaving. Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (A-25) Northbound From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 west in Longueuil and the access to Hochelaga Street in Montreal. As a result, the following are default closures 30 minutes before: The Route-132 east and west on-ramps (exits 89-N). Access from l'Île-Charron Street. Access to Île Charron channeled from the Marie-Victorin Boulevard. On Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., one of two southbound lanes will be closed. REM light rail line The network is closed every Saturday and Sunday in May. Shuttles will be available. Bonaventure Highway (A-10) / Nuns' Island The Nuns' Island exit (5) off the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) east towards the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge is closed until the end of May. A detour is in place. One lane will be open in both directions on the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) in the Clement Bridge area until December.
