'Bridgerton' star thought she was 'going to be killed' during terrifying robbery that left her traumatized
In a new interview with The Times, the 27-year-old — who was in a London cafe when her phone was stolen off the table behind her in February — detailed the moment she instinctively decided to fight her assailant and the lasting impact the incident has had on her since then.
As seen in footage obtained by Fox News Digital, 18-year-old Zacariah Boulares grabbed Chenneour's phone while the actress — who was accompanied by her then-boyfriend Carlo Kureishi — was sitting on a stool waiting for her drink order. After quickly realizing what had happened, Chenneour confronted the thief.
"It was complete instinct," she told The Times. "I wouldn't advocate for anyone doing something that would put them at risk.
"The footage everyone has seen was actually the tamest part," she added. "I got on his back while [Kureishi] was on the floor holding him down. Then he threatened to stab me, and I thought I was going to be killed. I was terrified."
Chenneour said she was struck on the head and briefly lost consciousness during the ordeal.

"My doctor later confirmed I had a concussion. I had dizzy spells for weeks afterwards and I was terrified of going out alone," she admitted. "I still am."
Boulares had 12 prior convictions, including for threatening to behead the Welsh singer Aled Jones with a 20-inch machete in July 2023, according to The Times. He had served just 14 months of a 24-month sentence for that crime.
Boulares pleaded guilty last month when he appeared in Westminster magistrates court.
"He needs to go to prison, and he needs psychological care," Chenneour told The Times. "If criminals are not rehabilitated properly they'll likely commit more — maybe worse — crimes."
In the months following the incident, Chenneour — who is no longer in a relationship with Kureishi — said she hit "rock bottom."
"After the phone incident and the break-up, I just hit rock bottom. Maybe this all has to happen so I can start afresh. It's been a major shock for me — and terrifying — but now I can prioritize my career, myself and my friends."
Appearing on "This Morning" on June 12, Chenneour recalled the ordeal as becoming a matter of "life and death" at the time.
"It kind of went round the corner, and it turned into a full-on scrap with two people [Boulares and his accomplice]," she said. "And I was threatened with being stabbed, so it became a real matter, in my mind, of life and death.
"So, I did things like, I remember kicking him back with my leg to create space in case he had a weapon on him… It was just a life-changing, crazy moment," she added.
The star admitted that the scuffle left her afraid to leave her home.
"I didn't want to go outside," she said.
"I mean, as a woman, we already, I think, have our wits about us around strangers and random men. So, to have this happen to me while dealing with that base level that a lot of women have, just made me quite agoraphobic. Leaving the house was really hard."

Illegal vapes and cigarettes worth millions seized in police operation
A council has revealed that more than 480,000 illegal cigarettes and 26,856 illegal vapes have been seized as part of a police operation. The BBC report has highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Newport City Council's trading standards officers, who have been working in conjunction with law enforcement to tackle the sale of illegal tobacco and vaping products in the city. All of these premises were taken to court, where magistrates issued closure orders. Two of the premises have changed their use, one is currently vacant, and another was recently closed down. A fifth has reopened, but is now believed to be trading lawfully. As part of another operation in 2023, a network of illegal tobacco sellers in Commercial Street was identified. This led to the removal of a significant amount of products from sale, and a residential address was raided where cannabis and cash were found. Five shops were subject to closure orders, and three individuals were charged with fraudulent trading, to which they later pleaded guilty. Councillor Mark Spencer, Newport City Council's cabinet member for communities and sport, said: "The illegal trade of tobacco and vapes is harmful to our residents and those communities where it is taking place. "We will not tolerate it in our neighbourhoods or our city. "I would like to thank our trading standards officers for their continued fight against these criminals and the partners they work with including the police and National Trading Standards. "Closure orders can only be for a limited period which is why the officers have been working with landlords. "We are grateful to those who have taken their advice in relation to the type of tenants they have and urge others to be vigilant. "We would welcome changes in the legislation which would strengthen the action that can be taken against those involved in the illegal trade and the premises they operate from."

A woman is having to fork out more than £2,000 after her car was keyed 'down to the metal' during a country music event. Scarlet Marie spent the day at Country Road Festival at Silverlake Stadium on Saturday with her partner and friends. But what started as a fun day out quickly turned into a nightmare after her white BMW 1 Series was keyed. Her car was one of 20 that were targeted in the seemingly unprovoked attack on a road off Stoneham Lane. 'I saw my car had a big scrape across it, and then we saw that the other 20 odd cars parked on the road had also been keyed. 'Every single car parked on this side ride by Trojans Rugby Club had been damaged. 'It is the last thing you expect, and it is crazy that someone would do this.' Scarlet said she and other drivers were advised to park on this road near the stadium after the car park for the event reached capacity. She added that no properties were blocked in or affected by the row of cars. 'I have always looked after my cars, but someone decides to go and do this. 'Everyone works hard to buy a car but there is a lowlife out there keying them. 'It is going to take me a couple of months to save up and pay for the repair, which is estimated to be more than £2,000. 'The cut is so deep it cannot be polished out; it has gone right down to the metal, according to my garage.' Hampshire police confirmed the incident is being investigated. A spokesperson for the force said: 'We have received reports that approximately 15 to 20 cars were keyed in Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh. 'This is thought to have occurred between 4pm and 9pm on Saturday, August 2. 'Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44250347302.'
